Fantastic experience: Awesome gym lovely staff

Positive experience: The gym is excellent, offering 24/7 access, however, the equipment appears to be somewhat outdated. Numerous pieces require upgrading, and additional equipment would be beneficial to facilitate comprehensive workouts. Furthermore, some benches emit an unpleasant odour otherwise all good.

Facility is Awsome and plenty of equipment. An app that tells you how many people are in the gym is also very handy. Couldn’t recommend Compound more to anyone looking to join a gym

Fantastic experience: I’ve absolutely loved my training sessions with Braedyn over the past few months. He is very knowledgeable and very motivating to work with. As a beginner in the gym, I appreciate how he broke down each exercise and his explanations on form and techniques were very easy to understand and helped build my confidence doing workouts on my own. He tailored each session to my goals and pushed me in a supportive and encouraging way, and always made the sessions really fun too. Being someone who isn’t from Dunedin, having a PT like Braedyn made coming to the gym feel comfortable and welcoming, he creating a warm and positive atmosphere! The gym staff have also been super friendly and welcoming every time I come in. I’ve noticed real progress and learned so much thanks to Braedyn’s support. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a PT who is knowledgeable, uplifting and genuinely invested in helping you improve and achieving your goals. Any gym or client will be lucky to have him!

Fantastic experience: Finding a place to workout can be a gamble when you're travelling. Luckily, Compound Gym is exactly what I was looking for. Compound came recommended by a couple of mates and they were right, this place is bonafide. Henry and the team at Compound were friendly and welcoming. The gym has a great set up and had all the machines/equipment I needed. Would and will return whenever I'm back in Otepoti.

Fantastic experience: This place is the real deal. Great staff that actually care that you are attaining your goals. Been a long time since I stepped foot into a gym, but it's just professional. Not pretentious at all. And the sauna rocks!

Fantastic experience: Have been training with Braedyn for 3ish months, as someone who was new to strength training and also just being comfortable in the gym he has helped massively with my confidence and given me a solid foundation to build on. He is extremely knowledgeable regarding the science behind proper form and how to train your muscles, but is also great at breaking it down into simple language so an idiot like me can understand the 'why' behind each movement. Would highly recommend him to other beginners, particularly if you are like I was and have some anxiety around getting started, but I think even experienced gymgoers would find him a good choice for a PT due to his passion for the science and his background in education. The gym itself seems to be pretty well-equipped, generally very clean and the staff are great to deal with - prices are also competitive. There's lots of group classes that are more affordable if PT is out of your budget. While they brand themselves as a bit more of a serious gym for athletes etc - I still think it's a great spot for beginners like me.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed by how Compound Gym handled a serious incident involving threats of violence from another member. Despite acknowledging his behaviour was unacceptable, staff excused it because he was a long-time member. Not a safe or supportive environment.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been really impressed, particularly with the level of personalised care. Friendly staff, great equipment, and a bookable sauna.

Fantastic experience: I joined Compound gym to strengthen my running with their Bullet proof your running' course and the course has been great. The trainer, Braedyn, has been knowledgeable, with really beneficial exercises, that have been explained in detail along with how they strengthen my running. The gym has been awesome, staff have been friendly and helpful. The is a good range of equipment and although it has been busy, it's never a fight for gear. All g from me.

Fantastic experience: Plenty of machines and racks available and a good range of equipment. I like the Astro turf track, and chalk/boards for practicing functional training exercises. The infrared sauna is a bonus as well as the on-site fit body scan for regular check-ins. Overall, gym has a relaxed vibe and hasn’t felt too busy so far.

Fantastic experience: This is honestly the best gym in Dunedin. There’s heaps of machines and plenty of space to move around without feeling cramped. The vibe is always chill, and the staff are super friendly and helpful to everyone—not just locals, which is really nice to see. The flexible membership options make it perfect for students too. Can’t recommend it enough!

The programme they designed for me is going really well and Im meeting all my goals so far. Im looking forward to my one month review. The training app and gym access app have worked flawlessly. The gym is a motivating and friendly space where I feel at ease coming to train. The facilities and equipment are well maintained. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym recently with the 9 week deal they have going currently (which is such a score!) and I am throughoutly enjoying it. I've never been to a gym were the team spends so much one on one time with you making sure you feel comfortable, know how the machines/equipment operate, help you set goals and have a program for you to follow each time you go in for a session. I find this awesome as someone who doesn't have much experience with the gym, the program shows you how to do the each of the exercises with a short video. This gym overall is super welcoming and I will be recommending to my family and friends. Keep up the good work team! 5/5

Fantastic experience: This gym is top class when it comes to space and equipment. If I lived here, this would be my gym. Nice environment, staff were super friendly and just everything you need for whatever type of session you want to do. Platforms and machines and and an indoor track even! Showers powerful and hot, can control temp. Hair dryers and straighteners in women's changing rooms, and an infrared sauna if you book to use it, amazing.

Fantastic experience: I can definitely say without any hesitation that this is the best gym I have visited during my 8 months stay in New Zealand. Well equipped and reasonably priced. Various machines, weights, lots of place. Also for travellers, you can try one day free trail with full access to do gym (and yes, also showers) for free. Hope I will get opportunity to visit again! Fantastic experience: Compound Gym is a friendly, safe, professional place to workout in Dunedin. The gym co-ordinators and staff are very helpful and supportive. The atmosphere at the gym is comfortable, relaxing and spacious but all the while providing facilities and equipment for a solid workout at whatever level of fitness you are aiming for. There's no pressure, other than what you put on yourself to meet what you need. I'm mid-sixties and want to improve my balance and maintain strength in my body so I can have an active, independent life into the future. I found a place, and people, that can help me achieve that, as have others of all ages, shapes and sizes......thanks Compound Gym I'm really enjoying getting my body strengthening and moving....and they play great music without blasting your head-off!!....Tony

Gym well set up, plenty of lifting platforms, good range of machines and free weights catering for all fitness levels. Enjoyed the functional training equipment as well and getting a crack at a decent indoor track. Dunedin are lucky with this one. Definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: I signed up for this Gym not long ago as I wanted to get back into fitness. I find the space very motivational and staff welcoming to new comers. The app helps a lot with admin and seeing busy times of the day. Compared to the likes of UniPol I can confidently come into the gym and have enough space to get my workout in comfortably.

Fantastic experience: Compound has state of the art free weights and lots of them with space to train without having to adjust your workout plan. Most importantly this gym has the best atmosphere with the most knowledgeable and friendly team. I highly recommend Compound no matter where you are in your fitness journey.

Fantastic experience: Compound gym is great. It's not jam packed with people= easy to get the mahi done. If you don't know where to begin, you can book a PT trainer who will assess your skills and provide you with a program that you can follow! The staff are lovely.
