Fantastic experience: Great service

Negative experience: Been going here for years and the gym is great in terms of equipment. The only thing that lets it's down is the lack of air conditioning. This gym just had a major revamp with it and still it's a sauna in there. The fans bearly do anything for it and older lady at reception told us that if there was a problem take the fan from the cardio and put it on the other side. Please fix your fans and air conditioning. It's NZ biggest gym franchise how is this a problem

Positive experience: really good gym does get extremely busy but most move on to other equipment and there is always equipment available even when busy however not always the equipment you want to use but very great place to go get fit and active without judgement

Positive experience: I'm cancelling my membership due to how busy this gym can get, but if crowds don't bother you, it's a solid choice! There's a wide range of equipment to suit most fitness goals, especially for the affordable price (which, to be fair, does contribute to how packed it gets). The staff were always a good vibe too :)

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed my signup experience with a wonderful young man who I rudely forgot to ask him his name, nonetheless he is so well mannered and very courteous (so rare these days). I keen to start next week and engage in my 1 on 1 orientation process to finesse my anatomy and live a healthy fit old age.

Negative experience: Gym of lgbtq

Fantastic experience: I like it, get the hellos, good morning, see you laters, the eye brow lift lol. Everything you need to workout, great place. Trainers and staff are . All in all Sweet az.

Negative experience: The gym has been under construction for months and is dirty. Recently a man stripped naked in the gym and started harassing people and the police were called to arrest him. Equipment is frequently broken.

Negative experience: Not too bad, have been a member for many years and attend regularly. Lock your items securely. Unfortunately, I have to say recently one of the staff members swiped in through the barriers a homeless man who had no current membership and went straight to the lockers and happened to steal my gym bag with $5k+ of items. That is simply not on. I understand sometimes people may forget their gym card but at least check they have a live membership. Thanks to management for capturing the culprit and to the police for their work.

Negative experience: Gangs! Gangs! Gangs! Very common to see multiple gang members every visit at this gym. Ive given a one star rating but I would definitely increase to two stars once I witness a gang fight!!!

Positive experience: City Fitness is a great gym with good staff and management. the vibe is generally positive but the overlords from above appear to be ignoring the coal face when it comes to replacing aging treadmills. Here's a copy off my post just now on the FACEBOOK page: Iffy reviews not generally my thing. 'So I'm a member at Napier. Very happy with the management and staff and general vibe of the place but the treadmills are way past their best, constantly returning faults or out of action completely. I don't think the members care that some equipment is older as long as it's well-maintained and any problems are quickly rectified which is the case in the rest of the gym. Time for senior management to step up and replace that line of dinosaurs OR get a team from Life Fitness in to do a major overhaul. This lack of oversight from the top is currently losing people's loyalty to the brand. Just sayin'.' I don't love our throw-away society and no-one could accuse me of wanting the flashiest stuff since I drive a 2004 Corolla. Difference is, it works just like it did when it was new with a bit of TLC and when it doesn't, it's off to the wreckers. Come on City Fitness. Make me PROUD.

Fantastic experience: Lots of gear. Often busy but normally not much of a wait for machines. Only issue is that sometimes gross dudes don't wash their hands after using the bathroom. Don't know why...maybe it's a kiwi thing??

Fantastic experience: Probably the best gym in town ( on a premium membership). There is ample equipment for everyone even when it is crazy busy, facility is kept nice and clean and the perks of the premium membership are awesome! You have access to Pilates reformers with a bucket load of on demand training videos 24/7 as well as a recovery room with next level massage chairs and even an oxygen chair! Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Nice gym actually. We've been having trial sessions for a while now in different gyms around Hawkeys Bay but this one is definitely the best so far. We've got a membership and until now we're pretty much satisfied with the equipment and everything

Fantastic experience: Great selection of cardio and resistance training machine's. The allow non members access for 24 hours for $20 which is good value. Everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained. I primarily went to use the rowing machines, which are concept 2 with pm5 monitors. There's 5 rowing machines in all. The fly wheels on some need cleaning as with the leaver set a 10 (max) the drag factor was very low. I managed to find one with a decent drag factor when set on max. I didn't check if the firmware was up to date on the monitor's, however I was able to connect my phone via Bluetooth using Ergdata okay.

Positive experience: Lots of machines and weights. Can get busy and crowded but biggest gym in Napier. Some of the machines need some maintenance but they do replace worn pads on machines within a couple of days. Never had to wait for phone users to get off machines, fingers crossed.

Fantastic experience: Great membership options. Huge building with a wide range of equipment. Can be quite busy at times, but have always been able to use the machines I want without waiting as there are multiple

Positive experience: Great size gym with lots of equipment. Tifitu at the front desk is really friendly and welcoming. Disappointed to hear the sauna is no longer in operation. Any chance this can be fixed and made operational again? There are many health benefits from using a sauna!

Fantastic experience: It was a great gym! The gym here has a lot of Hammer strength machines. With free weights it's easy to get injured, so the Hammer strength machines stimulate my muscles properly. I usually use Hastings city fitness as Hastings is close by, but chest & back day I use this gym. Highly recommended! I wish Hastings Gym would keep bringing in the Hammer machines....

Positive experience: City Fitness works well for me not least because CF has facilities in quite a few other towns. Good for travellers. They also have similar equipment which makes sticking to a programme easy.

Positive experience: Good gym , relaxed vibe, lots of space and equipment, however the men's showers have a cleaning issue where they never seem to get cleaned , peaces of rubbish and plasters in there sometimes 2 weeks or more , sort the cleaning issue and its a 5 star facility

Positive experience: Why is City Fitness Napier letting people workout dressed with hoodies and masks covering people's entire head and face. I asked the staff and was told it's against policy and cannot control after hours visits. However, today (Saturday morning) 2x staff at counter and nobody was doing anything to remove member if not following rules. What's the point of having rules for membership if some are allowed to do what ever they want. Everyone has to scan in so you know whom they are. Don't follow the rules then remove membership. Come on City Fitness Napier. I've been to City Fitness all Over North Island and only see it 'here'.
