Negative experience: Went into enquire about joining for a short term as on holiday and had the most unhelpful lady. Wasn't really rude just missing key elements of customer service like smiling, being helpful or even a pinch of enthusiasm. Missed opportunity.

Negative experience: I received a parking ticket for going to the gym longer than 2 hours at night 7:30-10pm I had no idea that even applied can you please help me revoke the ticket it’s a lot of money for me I have been a loyal member this would mean a lot please and thank you

Positive experience: Great gym and convenient to town. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Super clean

Positive experience: Received multiple parking tickets for breaching the 2 hr limit. Unfortunately nobody informed me about the parking restrictions.

Negative experience: Recently been kicked out because of “school uniform pants”. They display zero logos of any school yet still result in me being asked to leave?

Fantastic experience: Been at this gym for 4 years now and its got the best gym culture out of all the gyms I have been to in the past, no one at this gym thinks they are above anyone else and has it every bit of equipment that you would need. Always such a great atmosphere here.

Negative experience: This place is a scam. The best advice I can give is to not pay your bill with them and this will get back at them for all the taking advantage of people that they do! Very angry. I have a disability and I had only three showers there when I was homeless. They cancelled my members and sold it to debt collectors. I paid $500 for three showers. I hate city fitness. Please don't pay your debts them them!

Positive experience: I only use versa-climbers or stair machines. They had the stair machines and then were clean and all the bells and whistles worked. Staff was friendly and helpful. The facility was clean and bright, with plenty of fans going.

Fantastic experience: Great place to work out

Negative experience: I'm not one to really review places however I haven't been super impressed with this city fitness. I'm in Nelson on holiday from Christchurch and have been going to the two city fitness' up here and have found that the general quality of the machines is much worse than Christchurch. This is due to the age and the maker of the machines Star Trac which are feel like cheaper machines. In general the building is feeling aged and although it gets the job done not its nowhere near the same quality as the Christchurch ones. I went after hours so didn't interact with any staff, I'm sure they are great but the equipment and building didn't meet my expectations.

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym

Negative experience: Lots of hidden fees when signing up, you end up paying more each week too than advertised. After a couple months i asked to downgrade my membership at the nelson club, i was told i couldn’t and i would have to cancel, and start another membership which included another $50 fee, I then leave and call another city fitness. The guy was easy and helpful, told me it can be done and within a minute he sent me a link to downgrade my membership. No extra fees. You have untrained staff in the CBD working there by themselves, that have no clue what theyr doing apart from dusting the machines from time to time, sort it out.

Negative experience: Equipment broken and doesn't get repaired for days. No spin classes. I used to belong to Lyall bay CF and much better service.

Negative experience: $5 gym class, okay, but a small room and it was crowded. But I can’t support a business that refuses legal tender.

Fantastic experience: Having a positive and motivational time with my P/T Leo Voitlander at City fitness. Nice friendly environment all round.

Fantastic experience: My going on 15-year-old mithered me for well over a yr to go to the gym. As i work shift work and 50+ hrs pw, it wasnt at the top of my list to be heading there after or before work. So when I found out city fitness allows 14+yr olds to go to the gym unsupervised, I was over joyed knowing I would never be asked again. For only $6.99pw it was a no brainer. All I needed to do was sign a waver and obviously pay a fee and commit to a yrs membership. Bargain.

Negative experience: The worst gym I’ve ever been! The equipment is really old, it’s very busy and there’s no enough space for everyone. The treadmill is so old and useless for those who wants to train hard.

Negative experience: I do not recommend. They made me pay 4 weeks to cancel the system, no one told me anything. Terrible, go to another gym

Fantastic experience: J'ai fais beaucoup de gym en Nouvelle-Zélande sur l'île du Nord comme sur l'île du Sud, est pour l'instant c'est la meilleurs gym que j'ai faite ! Le personnel est au top avec un accueil digne de vos plus grands hôtels. La salle est très propre, la communauté est aussi très ouverte. Parfait si vous êtes juste de passage comme moi. J'y retournerai à coup sûr ! Thanks Z

Positive experience: Decent size city fitty. Will find most of what you need, if it gets busy you'll be waiting a minute!

Negative experience: The staff were not really interested in showing me around. Too much effort for them, in both gyms. The extra fees are well hidden in small print rather than up front. No problem with the fees. I don't appreciate the dodgy dated attitude of hiding the info. It's cheaper than some other gyms and you get what you pay for....however basic customer service should not have a price tag. Just not for me.

Positive experience: I'm a regular here, the atmosphere is great with friendly staff. The equipment is generally modern and works well except for the cross trainers which can't hold a programme for more than a few minutes. They are a pain in the butt. Most people do not bring a towel but instead use the paper towels provided.

Negative experience: They have the worst customer service. When I subscribed and went to the gym there was no one at the reception during the staffed hours. I called the number but no answer. I wanted to cancel the contract but they said no. What a service.

Positive experience: Very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have 2 new massage chairs.

Fantastic experience: Big spacious gym with cool modern equipment. Lots of free weights, weight machines of all shapes. Lots of cardio machines too. Staff and trainers are really friendly and approachable. An excellent gym!

Negative experience: Blonde dude that works there was on a power trip or something and made me and my mate go buy sweat towels or we couldnt train. (Did a quick browse on the website after that and found it doesn't actually say towels are part of the gym etiquette) 2 other people waiting with us didnt have towels either but didnt get told anything. Went and bought the towels and got inside finally only to count out at least 5 people without towels... ginger dude was cool, staff pretty friendly besides that

Negative experience: Nice clean equipment, employee told me at sign up that I dont have to worry about 30 day cancellation fee/notice as I am travelling and wouldnt know when I'm leaving. Money is still be taking out of my account after cancellation. Kind of a bummer when they lie to you to get you signed up.

Negative experience: Bad contracts that are a pain to get out of, whilst they do tell you about the system of signing up and fact you have to stay on for a year or get ripped off it is not an exuse. It makes you feel used and the faft that otehe gyms do so is not an exuse but makes it worse. Whilst the equipment is good it's time to stand up for oursleves and not put up with this.

Positive experience: Handy location but small with no air conditioning and intermittent wifi. Layout poor with it being to warm on mezzanine floor and reduced to one shared bathroom/shower after hours.
