Positive experience: I joined the Riverside pool and gym this winter love my days always welcomed by friendly and helpful team. Had a blast completing my first ever swum challenge. Clean facilities, gym great always someone around to answer a question or help with exercise. Thanks team riverside

Fantastic experience: (4.5 stars) Six-lane, 30-metre pool plus toddlers’ pool. Check website for lap-swimming time slots, especially for when there are five out of six lanes available. Shallow end has a step, so lap-swimmers can’t turn easily. Changeroom (women’s) has three changing cubicles and three shower cubicles with red buttons outside to get warm water. Electrical outlets for your own hair-dryer.

Positive experience: Nearly a century old. Still in good working order. Well maintained, like someone really cares for it. Not built like the modern ones, but clean and tidy. Tumbling at the shallow end is tricky.

Fantastic experience: A great place to entertain the kids. They go there for swimming lessons and are able to swim for free during the week. Weekends and some days in the holidays they have a floating castle out for the kids. It's worth the entertainment.

Fantastic experience: Having arthritis, many exercises hurt my knees. Started water aerobics which is perfect. Worth checking out, friendly, clean,handy location. Water temp warm, attractive, and staff very friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: Lanes not as written online. When it says 6 from 6 for example, it is often 3 as joggers get 2, kids get 1. Not an issue if the online info was updated. But it isn't. Also info to "follow fb page for updates" is a joke when last update was 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: I’m from the States and was looking for a local pool to swim at during my time in Nelson. I felt so welcomed, staff were friendly and explained where everything was when I arrived. Pool was clean, good temp for laps, long! and not too busy on a weekday morning. I’d come here over and over if I could :)

Fantastic experience: As a 72year old visitor to Nelson, I have visited your pool twice over the last 9 days. What a delightful receptionist. She made me feel so welcome and explained where everything was and suggested which lane would be best for me to use. Will certainly be back next visit. Thankyou.I would also send a big thankyou to the life guard who was on duty. I didn't get her name but she will know I am referring to her. Last year she was the swimming teacher of my granddaughter Chloe. She was so helpful. I had never tried a buoyancy belt before and was reluctant to go in the deep end. She reassured me and fitted a belt on me. She took the time to explain the different ones. She was both friendly and professional. One very satisfied customer here!

Fantastic experience: I got the week pass while in town for work. This is a nice facility. The gym though small is really well equipped. Free weights, cables, machines. Cardio machines in a different area. It's nice that the gym is co-located with the pool. Weight work out, rinse off, swim some lengths and finish with the spa pool. All the staff were really friendly and helpful

I was shocked how bad she was from the moment I came to the counter, no greeting, and not welcoming at all, maybe because of my color skin. Then when I checked her name, gee her attitude changed 180^. But rest were very friendly.

Fantastic experience: Fifteen laps today, considering I started with two not too bad Great place to learn to swim or do an Aerobic class. Kids pools, Spa pool, slow lanes too. Friendly, helpful staff.

Positive experience: Parking can be hard to find at busy times. An older pool in a great location and just lovely to walk to along the Matai River

Positive experience: Disappointed with the small pool and bad receptionist’s attitude.

Negative experience: The receptionist behaved like she had a fight with her husband. The pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years. There was dirt all over the floor.

Negative experience: There is a receptionist that has very poor customer service. Referred to my daughters father who is a adult as a child because of how he looked. I don't like it here but it suits a small toddler in the child's pool.
