Central Fitness Picton

Fantastic experience: I recently joined the gym and honestly, I’m really enjoying it. I often go late at night, and I always feel safe and comfortable, which means a lot to me. The equipment is great, clean, and easy to use. There’s a good variety for both cardio and weights, so I can mix up my workouts. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I also did personal training with Glen, and he is an amazing coach. He explains everything clearly, makes sure my technique is right, and really motivates me to do my best. It’s a positive, supportive environment, and I’m so glad I joined. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great gym. I am not a gym guy I have avoided them as I never felt comfortable however here I can always find a time that is private enough for me, plus the culture is very supportive, created by the staff and rules of the gym. Have madea convert out of me.

Fantastic experience: I can't be any happier that I signed up at this amazing little gym! It has everything that you could possibly need for a great workout. But the best thing about this gym, for me, has been the staff, specifically Coach Glenn (he is the only PT that I've worked with but I am sure that all the staff are just fabulous). I signed up for personal training because prior to Central Fitness the only gym equipment I ever used were the treadmills, ellipticals and bikes. I was sooo intimidated by machines and free weights that I didn't even try. I was terrified going to my first session but quickly learned that I had absolutely no reason to be. Coach Glenn has been so patient and full of encouragement while also ensuring that I am getting the most out of my workout. I wish I had taken this leap many years ago, but better late than never. I love seeing the physical changes but the change I notice most is to my frame of mind. I feel more confident every week. I can't recommend Central Fitness enough. Picton is very lucky to have it!

The equipment is well-maintained, and the space is always clean and tidy, which makes working out such a positive experience. What stood out to me most was the great customer service — they make everything simple and stress-free, even when it came to my membership. It’s clear they really value their members, and I would happily recommend Central Fitness to anyone looking for a great place to train in Picton.

Fantastic experience: great variety of equipment for a modestly-sized gym. I can only agree with comments about the friendliness of staff: gym instructor was super accommodating, helpful with instructions and created a great atmosphere by seemingly knowing everyone who & being friendly with anyone who came in. positively surprising gym etiquette adherence, too & I really enjoyed the music. big recommend!

Fantastic experience: We were stopped in Picton for a day and came to this gym for a 1 day pass and we’re glad we did! The cleanest gym I’ve been to and with good quality equipment. It has everything you need for a good solid workout. And to top it off the lady at the front desk was so lovely. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: A great little gym which packs a punch with the equipment it has available for use. Also, as people from out of town their day/week pass option was amazing. You sign up and through an app and an easy to watch video you can access the gym 24/7 for the day/week you sign up for. Really cool tech!

Positive experience: The staff hours are pretty bad if u just wanted to sign up for a casual visit. I had to drove back to Blenheim to goto the gym then drove there again the same night. Otherwise the inside look OKAY.

Fantastic experience: I was in Picton visiting Mum over Xmas/New Year and was looking for somewhere to maintain my gym workout routine. I contacted Central Fitness and they were very responsive and accommodating of my requirements. The gym was clean, tidy, had high quality equipment and Hannes was a very professional trainer. I highly recommend Central Fitness to Picton locals and any visitors passing through, or who have a few hours to kill before catching the ferry.

Fantastic experience: This is a classic New Zealand business, complete with an honesty box, the gym is well equipped with modern equipment and worth a visit if you need to keep up cardio or weight training while in town.

Fantastic experience: Was there for a workout during my holidays. A cool gym! Not too big, but has everything you need! A really good free weights area. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. The showers / toilets are modern and very clean.

Fantastic experience: Had two days to spend in Picton, so of course I looked for a gym to work out here. I messaged their Facebook page to find out about their day rates and hours, and Jonny was very responsive. They have pretty much everything you need for a decent workout. They've got a decent number of racks for you to do some barbell work, some strength machines, cardio ones (C2 rowers, treadmills, etc), kettlebells, medicine balls, free weights and a much appreciated space to deadlift and do some Oly work. Not a huge gym, but clean, well-maintained, and good enough to get in a good strength workout or metcon. Decent rates too :)

Fantastic experience: Great new gym! Everything smells new and clean, super brand new and technological equipments, good training music, amazing hot showers and the owner is such a nice friendly guy. If you're a traveler like me and you're in Picton not for a long time the casual is 14 dollars and totally worth it.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a wide range of equipment and fun classes. I absolutely recommend Jonny as a PT. His assessment of me was thorough and it was obvious he’d read and analysed the online questions he’d asked me to complete in advance. The plan he has put in place is totally tailored to my goals, ability and experience. Each time a few things are tweaked so I’ve made great progress in just a few weeks.

Fantastic experience: BEST equipment by far!! In my opionion the best in New Zealand . Better equipment and set up than gyms in New Zealand's biggest cities that I have both worked at and trained at. Picton is very lucky to have a facility like Central Fitness, I am jelous of Pictins peps beause I only get to train there when I visit . Friendly caring staff with a great free weights area... squat rigs are also awesome

I’ve never really enjoyed going to the gym but since I’ve been to central fitness in Picton I’ve always looked forward to attending their classes and just being there in general. Perfect size gym for Picton with the best equipment! Highly recommend Central fitness Picton gym! The best place you want to be for achieving your fitness goals by far!!!

Fantastic experience: I asked Jonny to help me achieve greater functional mobility, build and sustain muscle mass, and improve cross-body stability under load, all key factors in staying injury free as we get older. He has come up with great programs. Very pleased and looking forward to the months ahead. This gym is a great plus for Picton and all who live or visit here.
