Empower Fitness, Taupo.

Fantastic experience: My name is Alberto. I currently live in Nelson, but I’m considering moving to Taupō and wanted to check out the gym. I’d like to highlight how excellent the reception staff were — they were very friendly and kindly let me try the gym and see all the facilities with no issues at all. I absolutely loved the gym. For me, it’s the perfect gym: it has everything you need for functional training, free weights, and group classes. The Body Pump class was amazing as well — both the instructor and the participants bring great energy. Honestly, if I do move to Taupō, I will definitely sign up for this gym. Congratulations to the whole team for the great work!

Fantastic experience: The senior fitness class is led by three amazing instructors - each with their own style but all with great humor! There is definitely a need for Seniors to have access to fitness programmes to help keep us fitter for longer! And easier to do if you're laughing as you do it!

Fantastic experience: Had the pleasure of joining the boxfit class during my trial week today and can only recommend it!! The instructor was an absolute gem, doing a great job at motivating and explaining everything to a newbie. I felt very welcome in the group and got a fantastic workout in. 10/10!

Fantastic experience: As a previous gym owner I was on the hunt for a gym that had a family community feel. From the first time I stepped into the gym I was greeted to friendly team members that were welcoming. After a few days I felt like I was part of the family and felt at ease. Team members knew me by name already! I believe that a business which is locally owned and operated will always go beyond and above the needs of their members because owning a gym takes hard work and a passion for fitness and people. It is well equipped on the gym floor and has a huge selection of group fitness classes. I just LOVE purchasing one of their yummy protein smoothies after a workout. BONUS!! The bathrooms are awesome, clean, and tidy. Thank you for creating a great space and accommodating all my needs. Jude Pattie-Nelson

Fantastic experience: I hate gyms... but this gym almost makes me like them. The gym is awesome with a female only section which is great. The staff are awesome and I have to say they are always happy and friendly and make you feel very important. Lex and Matt were my main contact points and both have been amazing and very encouraging for my lazy ass old self. The plan Matt developed for me I can tell will produce great results. Fully recommend.

I recently signed up and although I had never been to a gym in my entire life the atmosphere, staff and other members of the gym are so welcoming and friendly. Lex took me through my induction and was very informative and also reached out recently to see if I was doing okay and needed help with anything at the gym. There is a ladies only area, a creche for us mums and loads of classes you can par take in. Very glad I joined.

Fantastic experience: I was a member ,age 65..at Waikato sports.Taupo Where I started this journey.2019 before joining I was weighing105ks.. I knew I needed to do something..so started walkn an a proper diet.n got to 97ks ..then I joined Waikato sports..2019.. my weight loss down to 81ks in 2yrs..walkn 40 mns each morning helped.a good diet....I had great support there.N family support too. but they closed down..So Stepping into here has been a great experience,my third year comn up in June.this year ,Meeting up with great support here and a friendly atmosphere..coming here most mornings. Learning how to use most equipment here.. n most to my advantage..an meeting beautiful people ..having same health problems..as me..Not easi for someone my/our age ..lol ..an with other. commitments at home ,,.but with a plan in place ..n all the support behind me .. has been a great advantage to achieving my goals to a happier /bettr n healthier life.weight is 86.95ks.today..setting goal at 81ks ..slowly but surely Must admit falln off couple times..but back on with the support of Empower fitness support thankyou...Nan.

Fantastic experience: During our holiday we've spent two days in Taupo. Usually we do crossfit and fitness. We wanted to have a good workout on our holiday. We loved the place, it was clean and relaxed, all of the equipment we needed was there and we could shower after our workout (nice feature if you're staying in a campervan like us). Would go back again!

Fantastic experience: It was great! I was down for a week and couldn't take a break with training, so this was perfect. Only $60 for a week and I came 5 times, so it was $12/session lol. And a weird thing to review, but literally the fastest water pressure for the bottle filling tap ever. It's so annoying how no one else gets that right, and you're awkwardly standing there filling your bottle! It's also huge. Got a massive range of equipment. I didn't even have to change my normal routine

Fantastic experience: I've tried so many different gyms but none compare to Empower Fitness. Any building with equipment can be a gym but this one is special. The staff offer more to this place than can be described, their warm welcoming approach and the caring family vibe of this place is next level. It's always clean and well maintained. Fantastic experience: Both my husband and I go to Empower Fitness and definitely enjoy the environment. All the staff are very accommodating and cheerful, keeping the facility clean and tidy (spic and span). There are a variety of exercise classes available at many different levels of fitness and the range of gym equipment is extensive. This is a place we feel safe exercising. We both alternate fortnightly seeing Logan Howe for rehab and ensuring we are doing our exercise program correctly, changing them keeping us challenged and on our feet.

Fantastic experience: Superb inclusive environment to workout in and very friendly staff. We bought a week pass and were really thrilled with the equipment and services provided. Women’s gym has a great range of machines too Plus they have a dog that visits so they really couldn’t get any better!

Fantastic experience: If you are in Taupo over the holidays and want to do some training, or if you live here and are looking for gym that provides more than just the equipment. Then I thoroughly recommend giving Empower a try. I have been a member for a few years and really enjoy the variety and quality of the classes provided, but what I enjoy even more is the community. The staff and other members really care about me which encourages me to get down to the gym on days I might have otherwise talked myself out of it and its always fun.

Positive experience: Gym itself is ok. Larger commercial style. Visited while on holiday. Casual rates 20 bucks which seems about average these days. Be sure to ask for rules before you go. My partner and I didnt get any form of induction but there is a women's only section and no wearing of crop tops etc. No issues with these rules but would have been good to be told at the start about these things rather than find out by being told part way through work outs

Negative experience: A dated gym that has a lot of very old equipment, could do with some money being spent on it.

Negative experience: Went there today (Saturday) with my girlfriend. We did a casual visit and payed 15 dollars each. We trained for about 30 minutes. A staff member came up to us and said she's sorry but we have to leave it's 12. Her colleague who was at the front desk at the time we came in stood silently behind her. He never told us that we can't stay past 12. We asked for a refund but didn't get one. The female staff member told us we could come back tomorrow but we had to leave taupo. So basically we paid 15 dollars per person for 30 minutes in a gym. Wouldn't recommend going there for a casual visit.
