Moana-Nui-a Kiwa Leisure Centre pools

Positive experience: Visited about 11:30 AM on 25 Jan 2026. Reported to front desk re phones being used in the changing room during my half hour visit—including one man on FaceTime in the male changing room. This is invasive and unacceptable. Public pools must enforce strict no-phone policies in changing areas for privacy and safety.

Negative experience: Our experience at Māngere Pools was disappointing. The woman at the front with blonde highlights spoke to us with a rude tone and made us feel unwelcome. While swimming, we also noticed lifeguards laughing at kids who were clearly struggling in the water. Each time we tried to go inside to swim, the same staff member told us to “go back outside” for no clear reason - maybe implying the inside will be wet but, isn’t that what a swimming centre is supposed to be? wet. Overall, the staff were unprofessional, and it didn’t feel like a safe or welcoming environment.

Negative experience: They told me outside was closed. 3 hours later I see a story of th outside open lieing to my face I see 1 star

Positive experience: ❗❗ Parents, please be aware that sending you child into the public pool bathrooms without your supervision is extremely unsafe❗❗ Also be aware that there are phones with cameras that may be used to film or take pictures of your child while they are changing. Kids may be targeted unknowingly. Unfortunately there are people who are disgusting and should never be trusted. Keep your children safe.

Fantastic experience: Sept 8th 2025. This review is for kiddy Indoor Pools. The pools are great. Temp is warm well temp. It was busy with students but not so much kiddy pools which was what I was there for. Plenty of space and had fountains that sprout different shapes as water falls with whale waterfall great for sensory. Different water hights also. Deepest adult thigh height , kids waist height roughly.

Positive experience: Markets are always good clothes are cheap food is good and affordable

Fantastic experience: This has one of the best young kids areas I've seen, and it's heated! The staff are friendly and everything I saw is clean. It's a wonderful free resource for the community, highly recommend!

Positive experience: Nice place...when to use the gym for rehab. It's a small spot upstairs overlooking pools. Can get crowded at peak hours

Negative experience: Toilets are disgusting, Eating area not open , Had to eat outside in the cold . Outside pool under going maintainence wasn't mentioned when we rung earlier, Some staff were nice others just didn't give a crap about the people.

Positive experience: Basically it’s very good, friendly staff and longtime operations. One missing star is for a male staff usually wearing black leggings and sneakers, why? I found it happened a few times when he’s on duty, he says/does nothing when someone break the rules, like cross/ walk/ play in the swimming lanes instead of the fun lane. I can imagine how an unreliable staff will react if the emergency happens, that sucks. I recommend the management talk to him and give him a retraining.

Negative experience: I enrolled for Swimming classes on Sundays. I went for the first one and realised it wasn’t for me. I was told that my membership would not carry over as that was the last lesson of the year. Next thing you know, I was charged again the next week, with that week not even hosting a Sunday lesson. Tried in many different ways to get in touch but to no avail. I also still am showing as registered for the Sunday classes. Bit annoying tbh, I went from hopping to improve my swimming to being charged twice when I did not attend any lesson and being left in the dark ever since.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! Our first time visiting this morning (myself and my toddler). My child had so much fun and enjoyed the dedicated children's pool area. The young lady at the reception was very friendly and has excellent customer service skills!!! Unfortunately as we left the pools to our car I noticed two cars on either side of me parked very very close and both had left dents on both sides of my car... I noticed the owners of both vehicles were from a church group held next to the pools. So I will park somewhere else next time. Apart from that our experience today was good. Thank you

Fantastic experience: My sister and I went to the pools this morning and we did the power class with lots of others. It was intense, exhilarating and fun. We truly appreciated the many people we met and can't wait until we do it all again. Ngä mihi nui Ki a koutou.

Fantastic experience: Outdoor pool is such a beauty in the summer.

Positive experience: Spacious grass area for large families, some shade if you are quick. Outdoor slides and splash pad area. Be prepared to lift yourself out of outdoor pool, only one short ladder available. Outdoor changing rooms much cleaner than inside. Bombing pool is great. Plenty of parking.

Negative experience: People steal/rub our stuff there, the reception was not very helpful, unfortunately. They were not trained or prepared to react to this quickly and help us even when we were screaming for help. It was a moment of hopelessness, and watching your stuff gone. They have a friendly staff and a nice pool. But, if you do use this pool, please be very careful of your personal belongings. Best of luck!

Fantastic experience: First time I have been there & it was a lovely, staff are kind and friendly and all the amenities you need.

Negative experience: A shame!! They have everything separated because the spaces for exercising are very small, on the second floor when you arrive you have to write down on a blackboard how long you will be in the jogging machine, we first day we entered and no one told us anything and after 10 minutes we had to leave because we did not sign up, some machines are rusty and in the room where the weights are they They should improve the facilities for what is charged weekly.

Fantastic experience: The staff are so lovely! I don't come here but my mum does, she had a medical event which required assistance of the staff and they were so kind, helpful and didnt make her feel like a burden. Appreciate you so much.

Fantastic experience: Really great pool with lovely employees. Has lane pool, kids pool and toddler pool inside. Splash pad, dive pools, water slides and plunges pools outside in summer with huge area for picnics as well. These are free of charge to use. Also have gym, swim lessons and spa pool amd sauna for a fee. Change rooms, showers Nd toilets always clean and tidy as well. Well worth going.

Fantastic experience: Outdoor pools have a Water park for toddlers thats very useful for parents/caregivers that dont want to swim. They can watch their child run around and still keep a close eye on them. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Bro this is our go to since I was a teeny bopper, love the upgrades the indoor pools r mean back in the day there was just the outside pools, if my kids get cold outside they can roll inside n warm up love that there's a gym aswell will be signing up this week, this spot has it all bbqz, sauna, spas, pools to suit all age groups, aquatic arobics!! When I was pregnant I did anaquatic aerobics class with my Nan lol was the best my babies and whanau love this place

Fantastic experience: Love this place, train here some time and the stuff their are awesome got know some of them in training classes. Stay out west but when I’m in the area I’ll pop in the gym.

Fantastic experience: Kind service. Clean and sweet environment. Hot shower for free if you swim there or you will have to pay $2. Must prepare your own toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, towel, hair dryer and so on.

Fantastic experience: I and my 3 children, after a week of being homeless, finally met this group of kind and kind-hearted people, and they welcomed me and my children in the best possible way. Of course, I'm not talking about the pool, I'm talking about the "fono social" that is in this collection. I am talking about the kind-hearted head of this complex to all the caring employees of this institution. After a week, my children were able to rest well and I am very happy about that.

Fantastic experience: Not sure what to share, I have been coming here since I was a baby, and my parents came here when it first opened. The staff are awesome, the facilities are nice but sometimes there can be some humans that have no respect, leaving more than just their footprints but otherwise it's amazing (to me) esp as it's free to swim here Can't wait for outside pools to open in Dec And low key wish there was an indoor bombing pool too for the off season, but it is what it is lol

Fantastic experience: Free swimming, lap pool had a 'fun area' for kids playing in addition to a kids pool and a baby/toddler pool. Temperatures were nice and there was plenty of space. My kids had a great play on a rainy school holiday day.

Positive experience: Had 'Fun' at the large indoor pool for a good forty minutes n the 'Fun Lane' yesterday. Utilised the 'poolside' shower for the first time in at least a decade.Pool felt clean & looked tidy. Lifeguards galore on duty. . .

Positive experience: Went for a swim with a relative who had couple of hours at Auckland Airport. We were so impressed that the pool was free, as well as decent pool, quiet and really friendly staff.

Positive experience: A great place for a family day out, especially in Summer. A wide selection of indoor and outdoor pools including a lap pool, toddler and family pools and a bombing pool. There's also a big grassy space perfect for picnics. If you've just hopped off a flight to Auckland, drop by for a shower or a swim. It's close to the Airport and conveniently located in the Mangere Town Centre. Pools, Splash pad and hydroslides are free to use. Spa and sauna cost a few bucks and are for adults only.

After being refused to continue with my gym plan by my GP I was so guttered! So I looked to the pool side too fulfil my needs for exercises. This I found to be very difficult only because of the limited space. NO WALKING LANE for us. The one used for walking now is uneven from one side to the other (both inside pools)No STEAM room facility this is also good for health problems specially (breathing) maybe this can be looked into! I have to go all the way too Cameron or Jellicoe Pools to use Steam room I wish South Auckland had one. I do attend your Aqua class on Wednesdays with Kiri that's awesome luv it helps a lot. 4/5 (no walking lane)

Fantastic experience: Firstly thank you for the opportunity to trial your facilities. The 7 day free trial is great for people to meet staff, use and check out the facilities. Easy to obtain via the website, it's straight forward no catch or expectations/pressure to sign up once the trial period ended. I had to be honest with my intentions, living in Sydney I was on holiday back home and needed to continue working out. When I explained everything to Marcus (staff) he totally understood and was very supportive of me wanting to continue to work out and be active, even knowing full well there would be no potential membership whatsoever. He appreciated the fact that here was someone who wanted to continue on their active and healthy journey even whilst on holiday. Your warm welcome and facilities were received gratefully. Thank you!
