Positive experience: Good fun for the kids, I think it would be better to return in summer to enjoy all the outdoor stuff. We went for a couple of hours, it was to keep the kids entertained

Fantastic experience: Akobi loves his 9.20am Saturday fledging class ! Amazing space for toddler lessons and super adorable! The instructor has a kind and sweet presence so the kids are always super engaged. We love how she welcomes the kids by name which makes it super special to witness ! Thanks Otahuhu team and Lillian, also the manager (female) was super helpful when I first booked the class.

Positive experience: Pools were good for the kids this morning. Although the spa was very cold at 8am and the pool with the slide was very cloudy and didn't look clean. Apart from that it was a good morning.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday was our 1st time here, for PASG play, picnic, pool day . Wow 1 stop shop for your leisure activities, we play at the courts baskets, hula hoops, bouncy castles. Then, had a picnic outside, there's a BBQ out there, and then had the pools all too ourselves . Toddler pool, walking pool, bombing pool, the pool with the slide and the spa pool was my favorite. Staff were all helpful, friendly and welcoming. Plenty of parking, disability toilets, disability friendly and the family changing rooms had enough room for us to shower and change. Excellent all round, thank you so much for a great day. Awesome facility ❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: Such an awesome place right in the heart of Ōtāhuhu! The whole facility is super clean and well looked after. The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome every time you’re there. There’s heaps to do for all ages — from swimming and fitness classes to activities for the kids. It’s also a great spot for birthday parties — plenty of space and really well set up. Overall, just a great community spot that’s perfect for families. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Fantastic experience: The best pool in South Auckland! They have so many amenities and its such a great environment for all ages. And it's always so nice and clean They have a big pool complex including a indoor bomb pool and an outdoor splash pad, a swim school, a gym, a sports stadium, a library, a Cafe AND an outdoor playground/basketball court and the best part is that its FREE ENTRY my family have been coming here for years and we absolutely love the staff they are so friendly. Would definitely recommend this pool to anyone, such a positive family environment

Fantastic experience: Had a really nice time here. The pools were clean and the staff were regularly cleaning and checking up on people in the sauna. Lifeguards were very hard working with a big crowd on the weekend. I’m not local to the area, but I would come back

Fantastic experience: Otahuhu Pool and Leisure Centre is a staple place my family and friends go to during the weekends as well as the school holidays! The pool facilities tend to be very well looked after, and the staff are truly welcoming and friendly. The centre contains many different programs and activities for a range of ages and conditions as well as a gym facility that is always well-maintained. My babies throughly enjoy their swimming lessons at the Centre, always looking forward to visit after school. Overall, Otahuhu Pool and Leisure Centre is a very inviting and great place!

Fantastic experience: Love Otahuhu Pool and Leisure Centre best decision making this place our go to starting our health journey. Heaps of parking Doesn’t just cater to adults but kids as well. We stay in Mangere but would rather go all the way here as it’s cleaner and you are always greeted with a friendly smile & a hello from all the staff. Thank you for helping a very insecure and shy person come out of her shell.

Fantastic experience: I've being going to the Ōtāhuhu Pools and Leisure Centre since i was a little kid, and my experience is always positive. From the moment I walk in, the facilities is always clean. The staff at the front desk are incredibly welcoming and helpful, making sure I know what is available and answering all my questions with a smile. The pool area itself is fantastic. The main pool is spacious, well-maintained, and perfect for both casual swimmers and those looking to do some serious laps. What really stands out to me is the dedicated family area, which includes a shallow pool for young children with water fountains and small slides. It is clear the kids are always having a blast, and the lifeguards are always attentive and friendly, ensuring everyone stayed safe.

Negative experience: Have never had this problem in the past but this time round had seen in the changing rooms some cockroaches and maggots, toilets were yuck, the pools had kutus in them including the spa...

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the young lady at reception for going out her way helping me with my autistic son lovely stuff. Clean toilets and the family rooms are a good size for me and my 6 children way better than most swimming pools i been to. Always love how clean the pools are ✨

Negative experience: My family have loved enjoying swimming at these pools since it opened, but the last two times we have been somehow my kids have always found poo in either the kiddie pool or the pool with the slide as they always wear googles. It's annoying because I have to keep telling the life guards that there is poo in the water, which tells me people with little ones don't put swimmers on their kids. So it has put us off from ever going here again.

Negative experience: Had my mokos birthday in the party room today Paid for 2 spas however whenever we went through to the main area a sign said pools filled to capacity we arrived at 1.30 left after 3 still no spa Had we been informed when paying we would not have bothered...No Clear Communication

Fantastic experience: My family have had several facility bookings, large stadium space great for family functions. Staff helpful and accommodating. The Inflatable bouncy castles were a huge hit with the kids!!

Positive experience: Entry is free for Adult & kids, Other days were fine. But today's visit was shocking. Need to warm toddler pool up more. Toilets need to be clean regularly around the clock as there were poo stains on all the toilet seats & all over the walls. Family changing rooms need to be supervised as other swimmers without kids use it leaving family with kids standing waiting. Grass outside needs to be cut.

Negative experience: Why pay to use the spa pool, even pay for the kids if ppl that didmt pay goes in anyways? They dont care and its unfair

Fantastic experience: Lovely pools, nice and clean. Kids enjoyed the features of the toddler pool. Only thing I would say need improving is fixed locks on the family changing rooms and boost the temperature up a notch, kids lips were purple!

Negative experience: Way too many kids in the spa...it's yuk. Literally over 10 kids in at one time (most of them in swim nappies) there's a kids pool for that!! They should not be in the spa at that age when paying adults are there wanting to use it. Unhygienic and disappointing.

Positive experience: Great facility just shame majority of kids there don't know how to swim and would rather punch and scrap each other in the swimming lanes than get swimming lessons. Pretty pathetic.

Fantastic experience: Spent a fun 8hrs swimming with my 6 year old one day during the July school holidays. Lucky it wasn't too busy. It's great to have the option of the family spa and then 2 big pools to swim in; the lap pool was a bit cooler but the slide pool was nice and warm which is great in winter. There's also a huge entertaining toddler pool and bombing pool. I love that, unlike other pools (eg Ptoe and Papakura), it doesn't feel and smell like a wet concrete basement. It's a large airy complex with nice warm earthy features. The main changing rooms were great and the staff were lovely and helpful, especially when I missed the expiry time for my locker. Super handy to have the cafe there, where I had the best latte I've had in years. It is a downside that there is nowhere to eat your own food from home on a cold and wet day....the outside areas are not sheltered. My only other feedback would be to enforce the age limit on the slide. I think the sign said up to age 10 but there were older kids and the odd adult using it when I was there. Just a concern from a safety perspective. Also I'd consider removing the rubbish bins from the family rooms. They're open bins and so the rooms are really unappealing when you walk in and see food rubbish, nappy rubbish etc. Maybe have a bin outside the rooms instead and signs asking people to leave the room tidy for the next family. We didn't use the family rooms for these reasons and because it didn't feel well ventilated after the last people used them. Overall we had a perfect day here and I highly recommend it to families.

Negative experience: Instructors don’t have enough experience and quite young. Every time when they teach, they need to look back cheat sheet.

Positive experience: Regular updates on site closures and class cancelations required. So annoying rushing during peak hour traffic. Couldnt find the Facebook page under otahuhu recreation or other, not a happy camper lol

Positive experience: Amazing fitness and water leisure centre when it’s in full operation, however that’s the reason for my rating - not always is it in full operation. When calling reception or contacting any of their social channels for confirmation of certain things being open i.e the baby pool, no response to socials til the next day and no answering of the phone EVER! Can you guys not update your facilities operations in real time on either your socials OR website? I mean Lloyd elsmore always has this info avail on their website at the bare minimum that’s updated daily…. We absolutely love the splash pad, baby pool and fitness centre (partner is a member) and definitely recommend checking them out! They also have awesome birthday packages aswell as the option to hire out their BBQ areas near the splash pad.

Fantastic experience: The pool area is very popular in the weekend and holidays for families. There's a gym upstairs. Has a library located just inside the main doors. Two basketball courts, a smaller one outside. There's a lunch bar which is popular, So challenging not to buy food after a workout. Also has a JP which is necessary sometimes.

Negative experience: kids pool closed off, family changing areas closed off, busted locks when they are open, water doesn't seem to be heated and the place is in a general state of disrepair... splash pad is ok when its open... The library was a save today so we could actually make the most of the morning. one star for splash pad, one star for location next to the library... other than that, a dump.

Fantastic experience: What a fabulous place for whanau fun! So many different activities to do. Our whanau had a blast. Will definitely come again. We couldn’t believe it was free. Loved the library as I wasn’t swimming myself. Take Kai & stay for the day. Staff were so helpful & happy all with a smile, such a nice welcoming when we arrived

Negative experience: I would not recommend anyone to hire Barbq area 1 and 2 We hired area 1 for $150 plus $30 for the hire of portable Barbq We ended up asking for gas Barbq Basically on the day what we expected or the impression we got the splash pad is part of the hire it isn't. The stories the staff had about the splash pad Geez STOP making up stories !!!! I went to ask for a portable Barbq as the electric Barbq was hard to get started All so the female staff so unprofessional in terms to prompting other staff they don't need to refund the bond money for Barbq if it's not clean What a bunch of Ameture!!! Lastly there is NO refunds for tBarbq area 1 and 2 I will never recommend the Barbq area's Next time we'll just bring a Garbo and own

Fantastic experience: The toddler splash area is one of the best I've been to in Auckland. Its free to swim too so makes taking a toddler regularly much more affordable which given the cost of living right now is so important.

Negative experience: Staffs need to clean the toilet regularly as the floor had urine. As for the swimming pool, I wouldn't recommend if your child is small due to mindless big kids running around and pushing other kids to get on the slide. I didn't expect anything less since the facility being in South Auckland and population that live here. Otherwise a nice facility ruined.

Positive experience: This year most of the time coming down from the gym upstairs there's more than 20 people sitting down on the hall way blocking the way out. I understand they are one team just finished training volleyball or basketball. I would love to get to the door without walking on their face while they are sitting. I feel like I'm disrespecting them by walking right in front of their nose saying "excuse me" continuously until I get to the door. I wish they have another area to do their assembly at. Other than that they are nice people on the wrong place.

Negative experience: Really expensive to hire out the bbq area couple hundred, which is usually free in the summer time. Got charged for the extra hour as the bbqs stopped working for 30min so took longer to cook. Got told “we did tell her the bbqs don’t work properly” if that’s the case why did yous charge us full price knowing full well your facility wasn’t up to par.

Fantastic experience: Love these pools they are the best BUT you really need to get some antislip mats around the toddler pool and in the showers. Have been so many times and everytime there are children slipping. Worst one was a little boy who slipped fell got up and slipped again and smacked his head really hard on the floor. Major safety issue. Reported it a couple of months ago when that little boy fell and still nothing has been done. Really disappointed that it hasn’t changed. Are you waiting for someone to contact the council to complain? Or a child to be seriously injured. There are signs sometimes but the little ones can’t read. It is right where the most vulnerable are please fix it!

Negative experience: They have a Cafe here and I didn't appreciate the attitude from the older women working there and the young girl who looked under age to be working there and obviously is the daughter to the older women working there because she looks like the mini version of her. There were four other families sitting at their tables the girls at the pool reception asked everyone to wait as the pools were full We had been sitting at the table for 20 minutes She comes over to me and says you can't eat your food here. I said ok. We werent even eating the food it was in a box in a bag on top of the table next to my swim bag and a back pack. She stood there and waited and I said ok again but she just stood there waiting, waiting for what? She walks away and talks to her mum behind the counter and then I hear her mum say "don't worry about it she's just stupid" What the hell! There was a family seating behind me and they had pizza boxes sitting infront of them. They weren't eating but the power tripping girl didn't walk up to them. I did later on see a sign say that outside food cannot be consumed at these tables. No problem I'll know for next time but I didn't appreciate the power trip attitude the girl had and then go back to her mum talk smack and then have her mum be just as rude and not even care that I could hear her. Maybe she didn't like that the girls at reception were asking people to sit and wait at her tables and not buying her food. There needs to be better communication and way less attitude and maybe not bring your kids to work to do your job

Fantastic experience: Lots to do. No outdoor pool but they have an awesome splash pad kids can enjoy. The best one so far for us. Admission is free and there are age appropriate pool sections with slides and fountains. 2 spacious bbq areas for use and hire. Adequate number of tables and seats installed for use. Indoor and outdoor courts and also a library nearby. Playground situated outside aswell. Caters to almost all entertainment needs. There is also a small cafe where u can purchase cold and hot food.
