Positive experience: Good swimming pool but closes around 7 with most pools

Negative experience: My family and I are visiting from out of town, we paid $60 all up, they were happy to take our money at the front desk but failed to tell us that of the two pools they have there only half of one pool would be available for the kids to swim in.They have 2 pools there, the facility was absolutely PACKED with people like a friggin sardine tin and there was only half a pool available the rest was lane swimming, even the baby pool had lanes?! my sister and I didn't even get into the water as there was no room but we had paid for our swim, but the manager wouldn't refund our swims we didn't have. Disgusting, over crowded, over charged and to top it off, the idiot doing the moss spraying on the outside of the building managed to spray my sister and her children and another lady and her child with moss killer spray (and also got it all over the bikes that were parked outside the building too).

Positive experience: Gym facilities are very tidy and modern, pools are often crowded during the summer and prices are quite high.

Negative experience: It's a decent facility only problem is the young blonde haired gym supervisor is manipulative and ignores certain people who enter while greeting others. It's just unprofessional and uncalled for in a gym.

Positive experience: My preferred rec center. Gave it a 4 star because togs dryer would've been perfect!

Fantastic experience: Evenings are a little bit busy but after 7 it's not..Overall it's a good experience.

Positive experience: Very good complex but needs a Tog dryer like the other public pools , hence only four stars. Staff are great, saunas could be bigger at times.

Fantastic experience: Good facility. I’ve been swimming lengths in both 25-metre pools (Sport and Rec), divided into single lanes. The Rec pool water was very cloudy on my first visit but much clearer next time, so maybe a busy public-swimming week affects turbidity. Cost for a swim is NZ$6.70 (May 2025, concessions available). Cubbyholes available on Rec pool deck; benches on Sport pool deck; and lockers are also available. You can also leave valuables, such as phones, at the front desk. There are also a kiddie pool, a whirlpool and a sauna, plus a seasonal outdoor pool and indoor gyms. (Change rooms could use a soap dispenser in the shower stalls; one cubicle in the Ladies' changeroom is missing a shelf.) There really should be (mandatory) showers before entering the pools; as it is, there is too long a walk between the changerooms and the pools, so people don't shower first. The café has no vegan hot or cold baked goods, which is disappointing for a health-oriented facility. I did see a vegan Magnum ice-cream bar in the freezer. Pleasant staff. Popular facility with all ages.

Positive experience: Nice centre, with indoor and outdoor pools. The pools are well segregated to allow you to relax at your own level.

Fantastic experience: This is a great asset to christchurch. The outdoor pool in the summer is excellent. Hasn't changes at all in the 35 odd years since I went there as a kid . And now I get to take my kids there . And thay also love it .

Positive experience: Very hard to get a parking Spot on the weekends

Positive experience: Was a great day out with my 4 year old boy enjoyed all the various pools. There was a bit of a concern with slippery floors in certain areas and in one of the pools ramp leading out of the pool, was a bit of an algae build up and my son was slipping trying to get out and almost fell and hurt himself. Bit of a hazzard but overall enjoyed the day there.

Negative experience: We were quite disappointed with our visit to Jelly Park. Alot more expensive here to go on hydro slide, which is only a single and had no punch to the waves especially on exiting the slide.

He frequently takes the time to show me how to use the machines, and provide gym related advice, and he does it all with a smile on his face! Thank you so much Ahmed!

Positive experience: Attending for a Masters SC meet. Found it was a very hot atmosphere in the main pool for spectators. Well run complex.

Negative experience: Too busy for the size of the place, the sauna was unusable between 7-8, jazzui was shoulder to shoulder, steam room as busy but not as bad. Pools and bag shelves were jam-packed. I know this is related to the time i went. But in addition, nothing to dry swimming trunks and showers had no power atall.

Negative experience: If you looking at putting your child in swimsmart lessons here choose a different council pool. Instructor we had was to shy to be taking a toddler lesson where she was expected to sing nursery rhymes, lacked confidence. Toddler and teach pools were dirty and also freezing.

Positive experience: Yeah it’s a pretty good pool, slides are fun but they are really intense on aqua jogging me and my partner were doing a bit of the old aqua jogging and we stopped for like two minutes and the staff were not happy.

Negative experience: I'm one of the locals who use the slides and full lanes. The diving / inside rec pools needs a good clean out. Was lucky I didn't ingest a band aid or two. Yuck for today. Plus diving pool is green on the tiles and I'm sure it's cleaned up soon...

Positive experience: Amazing kid friendly kids pool - except when there are big kids jumping in it - time your visit to avoid this as much as possible if you have young ones.

Negative experience: The customer service is poor, lacking friendliness in their welcome, and often wearing unwelcoming expressions.

Positive experience: Sufficient space to swim, steam and sauna. Enough for the kids to play too.

Fantastic experience: My friend lost his goggles while going down a waterslide and the staff were so friendly letting me and him search it twice before we finally found it.Great place and great staff I would rate it 10 stars if it was an option 15/10

Negative experience: The customer service experience is disappointing; there are many unfriendly individuals behind the desk who seem solely focused on monetary transactions rather than finding enjoyment in their work.

Fantastic experience: Clean even though it is very busy. Lifeguards are always keeping their eyes on the swimmers, not on their phone which is amazing.

Positive experience: Gardens lovely.. Great use of park. With the Frisbee golf. Children's playground.skate park. Next to swimming pool. Lovely area to be in around lake

Positive experience: Really fun park with the outside waterslides and the water but the kids zone is a bit too low but still fun to play in. The jacuzzi is really hot and nice and my kids had much fun in the spray zone thingy.

Negative experience: Rude staff, 15 year Olds aren't allowed to be in the spa unless there is and adult supervising from in the spa

Negative experience: Customer service sucks.. a lot of rude people behind the desk. There should be mates on the ground heading towards the pools. Someone is going to hurt themselves one day from slipping
