Although we welcome all feedback both positive and negative this example is a little vexatious. 1. The gym is staffed by appointment only, for efficiency, the reviewer is welcome to make an appointment at any time. There are staff training in the facility constantly, and yes we did see you enjoying your 2 star experience. Although it appeared the reviewer gave themselves 5 stars in the mirror. 2. There are over 100 unique pieces of training equipment. Some of the machines including 10 pinloads are what we call vintage, they are part of the aesthetic, part of the success story, and wont be updated, they use the same mechanical leverage of any machine, as physics and physiology hasn't changed much in recent years. 3. The functional fitness equipment is top of the line designed and built by NZ company, Industrial Athletic, the exact Strength and Conditioning setup utilised at Canterbury Rugby. 4. The ‘wobbly’ benches you mention. There are 8 benches; three are fixed (nonadjustable) and cant wobble, 4 are top of the line Industrial Athletic brand and yes 2 have some play in them, the two that have movement are from a body-builders gym that closed down, a gym where they can bicep-curl the average internet troll. These benches could be axel-stands for a tank, but yes the backrest moves left to right a little. Nevertheless, in good faith, we have just ordered a new $880 bench so there will be a stronger option for men of your stature and prowess. 5. The cardio equipment is full commercial StarTrack and works fine. Some items incidentally are ready for upgrade and there are 5 new fully commercial cardio machines on the way. We have always been a gym that has a lot of soul, community engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement, we will never be ‘polished’ and dont wish to be. So with any feedback we take action to meet the needs of the diverse community we serve and have served for 13 years. It is nevertheless worth saying to people leaving reviews that there are real people behind these businesses and when you have gone through the trials and tribulations of building and running your own business you may then be more inclined to leave an accurate, balanced and fair review, even if you are addressing the negative aspects.

Thanks for the review, we appreciate these :) Just a heads up, we run group fitness classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. We have run group classes during the day in the past, but have found demand for these to be low.
