F45 Training Tamaki

Fantastic experience: Being in my mid 40ies I had been thinking about starting some strength and weight training (as that is what is recommended to women over 40, isn't it...) but I was just too intimidated and didn't know where to start. I had heard so many good things from friends about F45 that I finally decided to 'just give it a go'. I couldn't be any happier. John was amazing right from the start, communicating with me and making me feel at ease. John and is team as well as all the other members were so welcoming from the get go and really supportive and encouraging. John really cares for all his members and is so enthusiastic about wellbeing, fitness and just having fun. I have been a trail runner for many years now and have completed several marathons and ultra marathons. I knew of the benefits when adding strength training to a trail running training plan (although I never really did...). I had no idea what a difference it actually would make. I joined F45 in early February - about 6 weeks before my next trail marathon (with 2000m elevation) and although my running training was nowhere near as good or consistent as it had been for previous events, I felt stronger than ever on race day. For me there is no doubt that this is all due to the strength training at F45 - 100%!! I just couldn't believe what a different it could make. I wish I would have started sooner!!!! Plus I'm toning up and feeling overall stronger. John is a runner too, so was able to provide additional advice and support throughout my training and preparation. I now try and go to F45 about 3-4 times per week and just love how every class is different and how I can push myself as much or as little as I want. John is always there with encouraging words and guidance, making sure the technique is correct and pushing me to go a bit further. And the best part - I am back home in time to get my kid ready for school, myself ready for work and I feel great and energized for the day. It fits perfectly in my everyday busy family life and I feel so good knowing I did something good for myself. If you ever considered starting a gym membership, getting fitter, adapting a more healthy lifestyle and prioritizing yourself - I couldn't recommend John and F45 St John's more. You will not regret it!!! And yes you might be hesitant about the cost (I certainly was) but it is so worth it and the overall benefits and support you receive is just incredible. It is so much more than just a gym membership!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to F45 St Johns since 2023. Walking into this gym feels like home. My parents, who are in their late 60s joined this year and their only regret is not starting sooner. John (owner & head trainer) has recently introduced a crèche for the 9:30am classes. His attention to detail caters to infants, toddlers and early school-aged children. It’s incredible and a game-changer for parents. The crèche is considerately setup with books, bean bags, play-dough, building blocks, wooden toys — even colourful lights that can be dimmed with a projector screen, ready to play any child’s request. There is an experienced ECE carer on weekdays who is warm and welcoming. My son, ages 3, loves going to the crèche. He even ASKS if we can go to “John’s gym”, a few times per week. My husband and I so appreciate we can train on weekends together and set our son up in the crèche. I can’t recommend F45 St Johns enough, particularly for Mums who want to be able to train and get out of the house. I personally feel safe and confident that I can switch off “Mum mode” for 45 minutes and my little one is happy in the crèche. Win-win for us.

Fantastic experience: I joined F45 at St John’s for a trial period and enjoyed it so much that I have signed up for a full contract. Not having exercised for more than a decade the team has been wonderful in assisting me in the classes offering alternatives to suit my fitness level or lack there of . I feel confident that I will grow stronger and fitter in this environment which is great not just for my physical being but also my mental health!

A big thank you to John for his excellent customer service. I won't have to worry about going to the gym whenever I'm at Tamaki. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I recently completed a 7 day trial as part of a promotion and loved it. The trainers are friendly and approachable who not only motivate but correct form as well, which I feel is important, particularly to beginners. The classes are varied and exciting. Real sense of community. The workouts are tough but go by so quickly! Will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: With a lot of the cross fit circuits it can take a toll on your back. John and the team showed excellent instruction to overcome this. They examine closely so as to get the most out of the exercise. F45 has an easy to follow eating plan. It does not mean one has to go on a really restrictive diet but still can get the results.

Fantastic experience: Loving the F45 classes. I was a complete beginner to functional training, with a raft of health issues to overcome. Its been more than 2 months now and I am feeling stronger and fitter than ever. Its an excellent system with the use of technology to keep you motivated and engaged. The team at F45 Tamaki is super friendly and supportive. Couldn't ask for more.

Fantastic experience: If you are considering it then just give it a go. What I like about F45 is that it makes exercise enjoyable and easy. I struggled for many years to exercise consistently and now I’ve been going 7 months and I’ll easily train 4 days a week. The trainers are great and people there are friendly

My impression of F45 before I joined was actually that it was a bit too hectic and hardcore for me but the trainers and gym-goers at F45 Tamaki are really encouraging of where I am at on my fitness journey, they’re inclusive, they challenge me just the right amount and have made exercise fun for me again!

Fantastic experience: Excellent trainers, great gym. I’ve been doing F45 for years and only recently joined this gym and I’m loving it. Really great technique support and motivation. Good atmosphere of support and encouragement. Everybody is welcome. Really great workout each class, but never two sessions the same.
