Fantastic experience: I’ve trained at a lot of gyms, but Flex Fitness Howick is on a completely different level. This state of the art, two-storey gym has absolutely everything you could dream of, and the layout is so well thought out that there’s always equipment available, even multiples of the most popular machines like squat racks, Smith machines, and cables. To top it off, the staff are friendly, supportive, and genuinely care about your experience. I can’t recommend this gym highly enough

Fantastic experience: Flex Fitness Howick is hands down the best gym I’ve trained at. The atmosphere is unreal — always motivating, positive, and welcoming no matter your fitness level. The equipment is top quality and well maintained, there’s plenty of space, and it never feels overcrowded. The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about your progress. It feels like a real community rather than just a gym. Whether you’re there to lift heavy, improve your fitness, or just clear your head, this place delivers every time.

Fantastic experience: Flex Fitness Howick is an awesome gym! The equipment is top-notch and always well maintained, and I love that it’s open 24/7 so I can fit workouts around my schedule. The place is kept really clean, and the atmosphere is welcoming, it never feels intimidating. The staff are friendly, approachable and genuinely make the effort to get to know members. There’s a great mix of people training here, and it has such a positive vibe. Easily the best gym I’ve been to in the area!

The equipment by far exceeds the quality of what iv trained with before. Both levels have great space with access to cardio equipment and weights/machinery Highly recommend to anyone passing through or that lives locally to try it out and see for yourself

Negative experience: Not happy my account was sent to debit success, I went in to cancel my account 6 to 7 months ago due to a masive injury, how ever they suspended it for a few months with out fully exsplaning it to me well i has hevily medicated on morphine.

Fantastic experience: Some feedback on my experience at this gym recently. The gym facilities, especially the gym equipment, are top-notch and the cleanliness of the toilets is commendable. It gets quite busy in the evenings, which is to be expected, but it shows the popularity of the gym. However, parking has been an issue as the gym parking lot fills up quickly, but you can sometimes find parking on the road. Positive note, I have recently started working with a new Personal Trainer who is absolutely fantastic. His years of knowledge and experience have greatly enhanced my workout sessions. The drive to the gym is worth it every time, and I always leave feeling satisfied after our sessions.

Fantastic experience: Flex Fitness- Howick is by far the best gym in town, Kerry and her team are doing an awesome job in the managing the gym. They deliver great professional and friendly service and the gym feels like home and the members like family!! The gym’s facilities and equipment are very well maintained! Love the smoothies!!

Negative experience: Felt unwanted as a long term member. Great people attend the gym, but staff there are quite judgmental and make you feel uncomfortable. (This was my original review, added the below to respond to their reply:) Interesting to see they have tried to defend themselves below... The 100kg weight was also on the machine already lol. Will always unstack a machine if it's not already stacked when I get there! Otherwise what if someone was coming back? IF you were operating with good staff, they'd be sure to go and unstack the Machine before the next person arrived so it didn't create a chain issue and the expectation was set by staff assistance not by staff complaining. It's also grossly unprofessional to involve another member in this drama. How many females of the gym were matching the description you a. gave me and b. just posted publicly? 3? How comfortable do you think they'd feel if you were naming young females in complaints? However staff choose to sit behind screens and literally spy on people and try to kick out those they don't like. I'm not the only one, and tbh I still like the gym equip and sauna and I was ignoring the staff anyway so I'll continue to go haha It's also pretty obvious that the whole story was just fabricated and someone at the gym doesn't like me, my mate or both of us. Unprofessional. If there had been any issues always happy to talk :)

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym, I would go as far as saying the best gym in auckland! the gym is always clean, with some of the best equipment out there. the atmosphere the staff create is simply breathtaking and the amount of challenges and prizes to be won is just one incredible benefit. also a sauna, what’s not to like! 5 squat racks, 3 variations of bench press, A smith machine! a large room for functional training, and many more equipment you wouldn’t find anywhere at a standard gym! Flex is the way to go!

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, I've had smiles from front counter every time I come in, so no problems there! In peak Busy gym and if machines are not available than there are alternative (free weights). I would ask flexNZ to review their underage policy, I'm a responsible dad that is trying to keep my kids moving and not stuck on tech. I would rather be stuck in a Flex Gym than at home. Keep up the great work flex, I've been a member of other similar gyms - Flex has far been the best I've been involved with.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, nice equipment.

Fantastic experience: Switching to this gym was one of the best decisions I've made. The facility is brand new and extremely well maintained. New equipment is brought in regularly where needed and what is in place covers all needs. All the machines work well and the free weights are neatly organized. The extra space from the "skills athletic" room means that there are plenty of racks in between classes and provides a comfortable area to do bodyweight or mat work. The staff themselves are all friendly and approachable, and it's clear that the owner Stephanie has a passion for fitness, and continues to make excellent decisions to make the gym a better place for its members (like opening up the skills athletic room for free use between classes). This gym is one of the more expensive options nearby, but it is far and away the best place to work out that I have found anywhere in New Zealand. I cannot reccomend it enough.

Negative experience: Nice new gym, equipment is top quality. Though the functional side is not to my liking. Having bench and squat downstairs didnt work for me as I needed the dumb bells that were upstairs. Didn't find it welcoming as well, my first time in the club and not one staff member had a smile on their face towards me. I may have caught them on a bad day but your job should be to welcome everyone. You dont get 5 stars due to the staff not being welcoming and also the flow of the gym. However the equipment is still quality. Botany will always be my gym. Thank you for your response, looking back i dont recall a smile but again I could be wrong. I asked my son who was the person in question about his key tag and he doesn't recall a smile too. However he remembers the thumbs up and there was no issue with that. When we came in I always say hello with a smile which to be fair I did say first. Don't recall the response so if he did then I didn't hear it. All the best as Flex gyms are still quality gyms. Just only my experience. Will change my star rating as I know I will come back again.

Positive experience: Turned around from trying out the gym because I said I am not looking to sign up soon. Response: Thanks for your reply. I requested to do a trial with the gym, for the potential of joining the gym in the future. But I was rejected as I said I am not looking to join "soon" and the only way I can try out the gym was to pay for a casual visit.

Positive experience: Gym equipment and facilities are all well maintained and cleaned. It also has one of the best range of equipments amongst the Howick area gyms. Wish it had more cable stations though but this is not a major concern. One thing to improve would be how friendly the staff are. I've been a member for a while and still don't feel so welcome or comfortable around them. The ladies do try but the male staff especially tend to just ignore you or offer an artificial nod or forced smile as you walk in or leave. When you approach them about something, they are kinda curt. Hope they work on this to create a friendly approachable atmosphere. Otherwise a great gym for a good workout.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined Flex Fitness howick and have been so impressed. Stephanie made me feel welcome from the get go and it was so great getting to chat to Erica on sign up and getting a formulates work out plan. The equipment is the best I've seen in Auckland and it's never too crowded to not be able to use it.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely had a fantastic experience at Flex Howick. I love the facility and the staff that I encountered were all fantastic and very helpful. I am currently still shopping around for potential gyms in the area and cimpletinf my due diligence for what my options are. Flex is by far the front runner at this point in time and I am heavily leaning towards joining in the next week or so.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Flex Howick since it first opened and love the quality and wide range of machines and equipment available. Always adding new equipment or additional ones along the way. I love the sauna and private en-suite bathrooms. Nice friendly staff and always helpful. Great work guys!
