Revitalize Gym

Fantastic experience: I started here about 2 months ago because my personal trainer advised I had to move the training into a gym. The staff were welcoming. It is a large gym with plenty of machines and weight lifting stations. I have been enjoying getting back into gym work and find that this gym is excellent. Group sessions available as well

Negative experience: Awful disgusting gym. Absolute scammers. Had two receptionists try and help my ongoing issue with the gym and failing to help. This facility constantly adds late payment fees to my account. I have called the bank and debit success using my time out of work and both have confirmed its the gym charging me extra. When calling the gym the receptionist Eyob wasted our time by telling us to call the bank and debit success again. I explained to them that this is the gyms fault (with proof from the bank) but they still stall the process and STILL continue charging an extra 20 dollar late fee per week. I am yet to get 2 refunds worth after addressing the situation 6 times. This place is a trap, Cancellation is not simple, gym is filthy, no proper running fans or insulation especially in the winter. Boss mentioned to receptionist he does not have time to go through my cancellation. I am still fighting to get out of this gym as they are not owning up to their own faults and continuously blaming it on old management. Late payment issues has been happening here for the past 5 years !!!!

Negative experience: Worst gym experience ever!!!! Broken equipment, dirty bathroom, incompetent staff who kept charging me after I cancelled. Total scam … !!

Negative experience: Not a safe or welcoming space for women, dirty and gross, automatic payments keep going out of the bank for months and months and it’s almost impossible to meet the owner in person to get out of it!

Negative experience: Awful gym. Even worse business practices. Bad. Really, really bad. All the one star reviews, all the five star review here are fake.

Negative experience: This gym is filthy especially the bathroom. Especially the mens bathroom. I have never seen any cleaners come through at all.. Will never gym here. We have an influx of members but no improvements done in the gym for years . Would not recommend.

Negative experience: The facility is good and has almost all machines you would need. Only thing they need to do is hire a commercial cleaning company to clean the bathrooms. I have been at this gym for 4 years and the bathrooms are always in a poor state and smells. Please revamp the bathrooms or hire a commercial cleaning company to clean.

Fantastic experience: This gym has everything you & more! Equipment that no other gym in the area has. Is not over crowded so easy to get machiene and get in and get the job done. Members & staff are welcoming, friendly & there to help with anything. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been at Revitalise for over 8 years now and it’s the best gym in the New Zealand. It has x2 of each set of dumbells from 2kg up to 30kg then 30kg dumbells up to 80kg!! Plenty of 20kg plates to go around and the best hoist multi cables. It’s never crowded or have tripods in ever corner of the gym, the members are friendly and easily become your friends. Brent (the owner) is down to earth and super supportive of your fitness journey, he is very knowledgeable and approachable. This gym is only comparable to Gold Gyms, the Mecca of bodybuilding.

Negative experience: The most easy going gym when I wanted to sign up! Very responsive and kept in contact untill contract was signed! But as soon as you need help with accounts they are never available! They dont answer their calls, they dont reply to emails and if need to cancel you have to literally go in there and demand a cancel! This workplace seriously needs an admin to take care of its customers .

Negative experience: Was made to pay a substantial lump sum payment of $600 in advance so I could have a lower weekly payment. Several gyms within a 5 minute radius have lower weekly prices and don’t ask for any kind of upfront payment. My weekly membership was still being charged all throughout covid when we were on lockdown. Nothing was refunded even after I raised it several times. They didn’t even have the courtesy to acknowledge me or provide an explanation. Three years into my contract and without any prior communication they illegally broke our signed agreement and increased my weekly fee by 30%. The gym has no heating whatsoever. If you visit the gym after 10pm during winter everything is ice cold. The air you breathe is cold. The machines are cold to the touch. This is a health and safety risk. When terminating my membership I stated the issue above and the owner laughed at me. Otherwise, spacious gym, great variety of machines, plenty of parking.

Brent the owner is super friendly & everyone is always there to help out if you're just getting started! Highly recommend to anyone looking to join a gym in this area!! :)

Negative experience: Worst gym I’ve ever experienced!!! Didn’t receive signed contract from gym until 6 months after signing up. But had to retrieve it from debit success. Due to this I was unable to know my rights to cancel my contract and went into the gym to cancel with a note from my gp and got declined, as they only take notes from a specialist which I was diagnosed and discharged from so couldn’t get one. I then got told due to me not having a note from a specialist and wanting to cancel I would have to pay the whole amount owing on my signed contract. Which didn’t seem right, this wasn’t until I received my contract, read my rights and noticed I only had to pay 25% of the owing amount not the full owing amount!!!. Bad service and communication. So dodgy and just wants your money!! Not to mention the women’s area is all the old equipment that gets dumped there! There are no heavy weight options upstairs with privacy, only down stairs. The toilets are always dirty and seems like there’s no cleaner to keep the gym hygiene up to standards . Alot of the equipment is very old , along with the building falling apart. Especially the stretching room upstairs! Finally cancelled my membership thanks to debit success and reading my rights on my contract!

Negative experience: I am not a member here but my friend is! And this is a WARNING ⚠️ read the fine print you can only cancel your contract in person not over the phone or by email. And if you work this makes it difficult the reception isn't manned on a Saturday! Making canceling membership impossible

Negative experience: Service is atrocious when you are trying to quit! Had to cancel my direct debit from my bank because no one would answer my calls or reply to emails..... Drove there in person and was told the staff there could not cancel a membership, only the owner which was not there!!! Stay away from this place. Horrible service. Now debt collection is hunting me 3 months after I left there!

Negative experience: After leaving multiple phone, email, messages asking for an explanation as to why they have taken money without authority (stolen), and signed me up for membership on the 02/08/22 when I don't even live in New Zealand . Zero communication and now seems like a dodgy outfit. Stay away if you value your money.

Negative experience: I have requested membership cancelation more than three months ago, they are still charging me and not responding to my multiple cancelation emails. Not professional at all, communication is a big issue for these guys, you will see random charges without any explanation or communications.

Negative experience: I been trying to cancel my gym membership for a long time now i was told from one of the staff that they cant cancel it i would have to call direct debit so i did then direct debit told me on the phone that revitaze have to cancel it so i call them today and the guy on the phone says that i will have to come in between 10 and 2 monday to fridays during staff hours to cancel my membership. Then i see the reply from the owner to other people that were finding it hard just cancel a membership saying its from 2 to 10. I dont know who to believe. It shouldnt be that hard just to cancel a bloody membership

Fantastic experience: I live in Papatoetoe. I have tried many gyms in auckland. I went for a trial for one day in Revitalize and I loved the facility. What machines they have WOW!. I have joined as a member now. Planing to bring my partner along as member. Nice place very friendly very professional. This place deserve 5 stars.

Negative experience: Staff were nice at start until you try to cancel your membership. Went in 3 times trying to cancel my membership. First time, the Indian receptionist kept saying "don't cancel ill be back I'm just feeling demotivated" and "I will be wasting money cancelling" for 15 minutes so I just went home. Second time, I asked to cancel my membership but the receptionist at the time said the Indian guy who handles that would be there next week so I went home. Third time, I tried again but was told I had to send a email because of covid-19 restrictions? and they'll get back to me. Now this is where I got very frustrated, most of my messages were left as seen and also tried calling the reception but was there no answer. Sent a email through and I did get a reply but was told it will cancel on minimum term when I wanted to cancel on the day, membership ended up getting canceled 2 months later. Took 4 months to process all of this when they could have just cancelled my membership on the first day but did not feel like it was an option, very unprofessional. Wasn't using the gym at all during those 4 months.

To be honest guyz i joined this gym and got value for money.i looked for best and biggest gym around botany.I found this gym more over getting free personal trainings with no fee till jan2021 with one month holistic diet and workout plan diet plan from Adam the Indian personal trainer !!!! that was value for my money.Since two months i am there and i am happy with the professionalism.the crowd around and the great staff.good luck guyz really!!!

Fantastic experience: Very good place to workout.I feel blessed that before the new year i went there.Its not just about free gym membership only its abut the aura of the place.First think that make me fee waoo is the music and lights its feel like you are in a party zone.More over the range of equipments and uniqueness of few machines loving it!!!! Luckily met the INDIAN GURU "ADAM" the life coach who guided me through the unique way of holistic fitness.Great place for trying once!!!

Fantastic experience: the biggest gym i have ever seen with a fact never too busy.Thats what is most important for me.Along with that the neat and clean especially during corona virus. Its very important to keep machines clean. Everyday i go and see the neat and clean atmosphere. Love it!!!

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Big and spacious. Can do your own thing. Heaps of equipment! Solid strength and hoist equipment. 5 squat racks and two deadlifting platforms as well as heaps of functional equipment, tyres, sled rings boxing bags skipping ropes kettlebells.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Has a good balance of a range of finely tuned equipment, free weights and space arrangement to suit many fitness levels and modalities. 24 hr access is a big plus.

Negative experience: The service is terrible. Every person I have seen has been incredibly inconsiderate and not helpful at all. Been trying to cancel my membership and they tell me to go in during a certain time of the day and I do but apparently the person I need to see is never in and they just can't do anything to help. Won't take my name or number and won't let me leave my card. I phone and leave messages and I email but don't get a response. However, after a good year of trying I finally managed to cancel the account, but they charged me an excessive cancellation fee even though it has been a few years and my contract (which they will not provide me a copy of) would have expired. I am so defeated by this place just continuously taking so much from me and making it so difficult to do something I am entitled to do. After finally cancelling my account, three weeks later they have taken another payment from me. So now I have to go through the whole process again. It is so unnecessarily stressful and so disappointing. Don't put yourself through this.

Fantastic experience: I've been round gyms most of my life Revitalize is the best gym around. Great free weights never short even when it is busy. Most of the machines are new. There is a huge cardio area too.

Fantastic experience: I have been training here for over two years and it’s my favourite gym. The equipment is great, the trainers are very nice and I always have the best trains there. Such a cool vibe, I train there twice a day because I love it that much. ☺️
