Fantastic experience: Great size gym with multiple different machines as well as dumbells , kettlebells and barbells. An area with mats for stretching. Also has a HITT room and recovery room. After hours entrance avaliable when the mall is closed. Staff is lovely too

Negative experience: Most of the bikes and treadmills were not working when I was here. Extremely packed like a flea market. The entire gym smelled really bad of overpowering B.O. Also, the only tap to fill your water bottles was third world and had a long queue of people waiting.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this gym more frequently since their expansion. Lots of equipment and room for people to move around. Even during busy times the gym doesn’t feel overcrowded. Lots of cleaning bottles and hygiene stations. Would really love it if they had fitness classes here!!

Fantastic experience: Wide variety of equipment to choose from. Trainer free for the first session. Clean and hygienic ambience. If a client joins a Cityfitness outlet which had newly opened, then they are entitled to a waiver on the membership fee(of$49) The other packages (besides the Basic) allows for an additional family member to join under ur membership account. Is consistently maintaining a high standard in terms of Cleanliness and Hygiene. Update 09/10/23. This Gym is expanding which means, more space , more equipment and more trainer availability. Happening soon , expansion u underway, dunno when though. Update 03/04/2024 Expansion complete . Auto doors Recovery room Weights room Good spacing out of gymnastics equipment Ample space in the center of the gymnasium

Fantastic experience: Now they have expanded I'm happy how open it is and not feeling isolated with so many members around, hearing slamming of machines from others who don't give a bugger to look after it. Love how many cleaning stations, sprays around each machine to clean up after use and you have a separate room for mssage chairs so people don't watch you when it use to be in the open. Now it's a room I've been more comfortable using it lol. Love the welcoming from the workers and goodbyes when you leave. It actually makes a difference to your start of your gym session and finishing off as well. Am happy to say I'm glad to have joined up cos I'm addicted now xx

Negative experience: The air conditioning doesn't work most days(mostly in the afternoon). Almost hard to breathe here. Other than that, a great gym.

Negative experience: I travel ALOT! I've been to most, North and South Island.. this is officially the worst City Fitness I've been in. I'd rather do some push ups at home before I go back there again!

Fantastic experience: A little bit smaller than the other locations but still convenient for the ones that live in the area. Plus it's within the Hunter Plaza Mall with Countdown, Kmart, Chemist Warehouse, Food courts and more within the Mall. Good local gym to go to if you don't want to go far.

Positive experience: Member since i came to New Zealand and loving it more than ever as my workouts are going great. For me all the gyms are good as long as they have squat rack, hack squats, preacher curl machine, cheat press machine, back rowing couple of them are missing. And being one of best gyms they should get them. Rest all good

Negative experience: Me and my sister came to papatoetoe city fitness to register one half month ago. We booked a personal trainer for 2 sessions. And we filled up which days we want the trainer and the times as well. When we come for the first session, the trainer had gone to Takanini one. So we had to come back home. And then I think she came next week for the first session. Actually she didn’t tell us how to operate the machines. So we were waiting for the next session for asking about that. After that she told that she will come next week, next week, but still she didn’t come . And then we told it to the reception. They gave us another trainer’s contact number. And then We got an appointment today with him. When we go there, the receptionist told us he is sick. So he will not come. Untill we come to the city fitness he didn’t inform us. We both have small children. Its not easy to manage with other works. Everything we plan at night for the other day. Before we come here we have to do lots of works at home. Sometimes children want come with us. They are crying. Husbands have to look after them. And we booked on weekdays. But they ask us to come on which days they want. Its easy to say sorry everytime. And we have paid registration fees and other payments on time. Actually we don’t want to come here again.

Negative experience: Members of this pap gym are very rude, entitled and bullies. When trying to use machines, the big guys will always hog it and when asking them if they were done they would say no but just sit on their phones. Another rude guy said some harsh words followed by swearing at us in the gym. Finally being a female coming to the gym alone means that I get harassed by guys there.

Negative experience: Cancelled my membership mid september and the staff told me that I did not have to pay anymore and that she will cancel my direct debit and that I can still use the gym till mid Oct. Later get an email from them saying I had to pay for 4 more weeks. Staff provided misleading information and then I requested a manager call. Manager said its your responsibility to read T&C and it was a shame when the staff in the club provides wrong information and the person on the phone blames the customer. They still want me to pay the amount even after accepting their staff may have made a mistake. Negotiating with me to pay 2 weeks now instead of 4 weeks even after accepting staff provided wrong info. Hopefully someone can act on this and reach out again to discuss. Very unsatisfied with the overall situation. Poor service and Untrained staff at this club. Do not recommend using them :-(

Positive experience: To many people go there and some hog the excercise machines sitting on them or leaving there items on them. Some use 3 to 4 excercise machines at once its annoying makes me leave early puts me off those people don't care about other members

Fantastic experience: City fitness Papatoetoe is an amazing gym, 6.99 for a week is cheap and best for the facilities they provide. Too much competition in the market but if you know what to do in the gym, city fitness is the best. Totally recommended.

Fantastic experience: Ormiston is the place to be. Workout area is huge, big enough that you'll still be comfortably away from people even though there's alot of people working out. New machines. Open floor layout.

Fantastic experience: My local. I like that the machines are up to date but they still have my fav ab crunch machine which the new ones do not have. I go just for this machine. Newer gyms have a different kind and I can use them but I prefer the slightly older version. Good atmosphere and good people.

Fantastic experience: Love the brand. Ease of machines, friendly staff. Recently after the second lockdown, I've observed my wifi doesn't work even after reinstalling the app. Staff has noted it down at the Papatoetoe branch. And I've written over email. Overall a great experience

Positive experience: Good size gym, not the best location, weights were all over the place, no matching dumbbells. Not the tidiest gym by far. Good selection of music

Positive experience: Good location, Good Parking, big workout area,. Usually very busy in evening time,. Staff at evening are mostly not friendly, Bins were usually full during Evening time..

Negative experience: This branch is unfortunately not big enough to cater for its large number of members. Each time I have attended, almost every machine or bench has been in use, resulting in a lot of standing around. Furthermore, this is the one club where every member seems to forget where they first picked their weights up from.

Positive experience: Lacks the space for classes so they aren't able to offer that at this location. However, they have everything else you need. The Newmarket location definitely is much better equipped but this Hunter's Plaza location is not bad at all.

Negative experience: Hi there, Today i went to gym i forgot my towel at home but gym instructor i dont know his name he’s looks old he’s working papatoetoe hunter plaza branch he’s very rude to me he spoil my day today i feel like is swearing at me i saw many times he does same thing with others as well but rest of all staff members are good i never ever gonna recommend to this brach to anyone I hope you will look after that i don’t wanna show my identity Thankyou
