Fantastic experience: It was our last visit to NZ before the lockdown that still til today nearly 2 years later has our borders still closed. This Trent Jones jnr designed Golf Course is just beautifully presented and is long and challenging. I made a booking to play around lunchtime. After teeing off and playing 4 holes, there was a junior championship tournament on. We got stuck behind the juniors. Then, when we got to the 10th hole, it took us a lot of time to play the hole out, so we decided to leave and head back to the pro shop. It was a great 9 holes. We explained our predicament to the prshop staff, and then the general manager was notified, and he was fantastic . He was so good and understanding that without hesitation, he offered us to come back another day to play, at no extra charge in a golf cart too. This is why golf courses are successful with great staff like these who do what is required to assist customers. I recommend that if you're in Auckland, then give this beautiful golf course a try you will love it, if not the golf then it will be the stunning views as in the pictures.

Fantastic experience: Great long challenging course with beautiful views of the cliffs and the ocean on some holes. A true championship standard manicured (but can be muddy in winter after persistent rain) Not a cheap fee to play but worth the treat.

Positive experience: Stunning location. Beautiful golf course. Car park for visitors needs some attention but overall is a lovely place. Am yet to dine here or use the facilities. Will update if/when I do.

Negative experience: Had the absolute displeasure of playing what I can only describe as the most unwelcoming golf course I have ever played. Me and 3 friends booked a 4 ball here as we found it for a good price (well at the time we thought it was). On the first tee we were approached by a man who described himself as the “manager” like it was a title he had battled hard for his whole life to attain. We teed off and this “manager” proceeded to follow us down the first hole, this is where it gets bizarre, this guy followed us for the first 13 holes, staying about 100m back and watching every single shot, when we played the par 3s (I think there was 3 or 4) he would whiz past us in his golf cart and stand down next to the green and wave us to hit down towards him. After 13 holes we finally managed to shake off what I can only describe as a very disturbed and confused man. We had 1 hole of peace and quiet and then out of no where and young man who I later realised was his apprentice/sidekick followed us for the remaining 5 holes and watched every single shot we played. Never had such a strange golf experience in all my days playing. If I had payed the full summer rate of $300 I would of asked for a refund because all in all it’s a bang average golf course. I caught my self checking my rear view mirror a few times extra on the drive back to Auckland incase “the manager” decided to follow me home

Negative experience: Booked in the 09/06 to play 20/06. Was told at the time the tee time might get moved 30 mins due to a large booking/event but nonetheless was confirmed. Thought it was a bit strange so called to reconfirm on the 17/06 and was told there was no record of my booking and nothing could be done. Really poor.

Positive experience: I have been few times already. Fairway and greens are good condition. Not busy. But need more sand on most of bunkers.

Negative experience: Not Family Friendly, phased out Child/Teen sports membership. Replaced with a Members concession card $100 for 10 visits, which is more expensive than $70 monthly pass for adult members. Clearly families with children are not welcome. While I agree membership prices have to increase, as facilities are in dire need of refurbishment. Swimming pool water has strong chemical smell, which can be solved by upgrading water filtering system. But targeting children?

Fantastic experience: Excellent golf course and great facilities. Sit on the deck to watch come through on 18th hole on a beautiful day is fabulous. The course is playing exceptionally well.

Long enough to challenge the big hitters from the black and blue tees, especially when theres wind, which is often. By far the best course on the North Shore, from tee to green. Could do with better trained pro shop staff though. A couple are great the rest, well less said and all that

Positive experience: Great place but food could have been better. I ordered for lunch a lamb dish with hash potato, egg, etc. There was too much sauce which I felt made it taste like a stew. There were 5 of us and one other in our group who felt the food was mediocre..
