Fantastic experience: I initially visted Lawrence at his clinic last year due to having severe heel pain that prevented me from running. After having a negative experience with a podiatrist that left me questioning whether I would ever get to the bottom of the issue, Lawrence took great care in listening to my history, assessment of my physical stength and condition and used his wealth of knowledge to treat and provide a plan for me to get back to doing what I love, pain free! I have just recently had a sports massage from Lawrence in prep for an ultramarathon this weekend and I highly recommend him! 5 star athletic performance service all around at The Movement Project!

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend Lawrence’s services enough. His knowledge and expertise in his work is second to none. He was so easy to work with, and the training we did gave me so much confidence going into my race. If I was too do another endurance event Lawrence would be the first person I would call for advice.

Fantastic experience: I have been doing The Movement Project with Lawrence for 3 months now. The focus is on core strength and stability and I have definitely noticed that I am feeling stronger. The classes are online and the recording available afterwards, which is great for my busy schedule. Any questions about the class, I have spoken to Lawrence and he has given me great advice on how to alter the moves to suit my ability. His passion for getting people stronger and moving well shines through in his work and he is a fantastic teacher. I would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: I have been working with Lawrence for 5 months. For 2 events . He really knows his stuff! He was wonderful to work with ,he was always available. He prepared a training plan that worked with my lifestyle and picked up very quickly what I needed to work on. I was very pleased with the results ! I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for assistance with a training program.

Fantastic experience: I came to Lawrence with a long term injury (plantar fasciitis) & a crazy plan to complete a 100 mile ultramarathon. Fast forward a year & I can sit here writing this review having completed the Tarawera 100 miler. Lawrence stripped back my running to basics, began treating my injury & through the Movement Project gave me the tools to improve my flexibility, balance & strength. On top of that Lawrence also provided nutritional advice & provides a holistic approach to his practice. Having done ultramarathons before I had fallen into the school of high volume training & often reached events feeling fatigued. Lawrence gave me a training plan that got me to the start line feeling fresh & ready to go without the need to complete huge volumes of kilometers. I also reached the start line injury free!! Not only that but I reached the finish line injury free & my recovery is going really weĺl.
Fantastic experience: These classes are just great. I've attended lots in the past and find Lawrence really calming and very knowledgeable. Excellent exercises for gaining strength and good posture.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Lawrence yoga class for 3 terms. I have found the yoga classes motivational, my strength and mobility is 100% better! I have more strength and mobility! Not only do I feel at least 2 cm taller I feel great. I would highly recommend anybody at any fitness to attend anyone of Lawrence classes
Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Lawrence for around 6 years now. When I first started seeing him I had tennis elbow affecting both arms which was impacting on my job and making me pretty miserable. With a mixture of massage and stretching techniques Lawrence got me to a place where I was able to enjoy work and exercise again. He is friendly, professional and the banter is informative and enjoyable. Sometimes the playlist is not terrible.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending local yoga and pilates classes run by Lawrence - The Movement project up at Ohauiti Hall for 2 terms now and can highly recommend these for building core strength, improving mobility range of motion and improving general wellbeing. I feel stronger, more confident and have more motivation to keep working on my fitness. Lawrence is a great teacher with lots of knowledge and is passionate about helping people reach their personal goals and potential. He also offers online classes if your time restricted. I find in person makes me work harder. Thanks Lawrence, feel grateful to have such a highly qualified trainer and athlete offering these classes to the locals at such a reasonable price.

Fantastic experience: Attending Yoga and Pilates classes instructed by Lawrence from the Movement Project has been great for my fitness, strength and balance. The classes are always varied enough to keep me challenged but build on from earlier classes to let me perfect practice and perfect each movement. This has been great for my flexibility and core strength. The classes are friendly and relaxed. I have been attending for 2 years now and are still learning and keen each evening to attend. Love attending. Love yoga. Love Pilates.
Fantastic experience: I have been having professional treatment from Lawrence at The Movement Project for more than 4 years now. I am an athlete participating in a number of sports and lead a very active lifestyle. Currently I am a Master in Athletics with my goal to compete in World Championship. I have had treatment for a persistent ankle injury, and Lawrence has proven to be the most professional and knowledgeable neuromuscular specialist I have had the pleasure dealing with. His knowledge as a athlete in his own right is vast. He freely offers advice and help in a number of areas that truly benefit not only the professional athlete, but the average person who wants to live a healthier and more active lifestyle. However, serious athletes on many levels would benefit from having Lawrence on their side. Having a regular program of treatment with Lawrence pre and post events is so beneficial, and boosts your performance. I also coach and train a young athlete whose goal is to represent NZ as a Decathlete at the 2024 Olympics. I have included regular fortnightly sessions with Lawrence as part of his journey. That has been hugely beneficial to him having suffered an unfortunate knee injury. He is now consistently achieving new PB's and I have no doubt that he will represent NZ at the 2024 Olympics, and Lawrence and The Movement Project will have positively contributed to that journey and achievement. Recommended without any hesitation or reservation.

Fantastic experience: I embarked on Lawrence's Movement Project as a way to get more supple and strengthen my body as I have a quite sedentary job. What I had not anticipated as a quite outstanding spin-off, was that if I repeat his exercises in the afternoon I sleep through the night. Something that had been a rarity for me of late. Thanks Lawrence, love this programme and will continue to enjoy better sleep, more flexibility and improved mental energy because of it all. Awesome!

Fantastic experience: Lawrence is one of the best around and strives for the best advice every session. Let that be in the clinic, on the yoga floor and out in the world of running, he is always hungry to learn more and develop with his clients. He also understands there’s no short cuts and to get proper improvements we as clients need to put the effort in and help him to help us. Overall great person to have around and great services to keep our bodies feeling at their best!

Fantastic experience: I used Lawrence for 4 months before my first half ironman triathlon and I could not recommend him enough. I went in with a foot injury and started with his run clinic where he gave great guidance on how I could improve my technique and ease my way back into running. I signed up for the weekly training plan, which kept me focused and disciplined. A highlight was shifting my mindset to train low-medium HR zones (which really helped sustain training and speed up recovery). I went into the race with a solid plan, from nutrition to timing and everything went perfectly on the day. Worth every penny! Lawrence has a wealth of knowledge, as well as personal experience competing in many tri/ running/ cycling events.

Fantastic experience: The movement project has been a great addition to my weekly training. I’ve really enjoyed the live sessions, especially through lockdown. The library of movement classes and other interesting articles has kept me motivated. Highly recommend and great value. Also loving the new ‘in person’ yoga classes, keeps me honest.

Fantastic experience: The movement project is fantastic! I am a hockey player and massage therapist with several old injuries. The sessions with Lawrence have really helped with my core strength, joint stability, endurance and flexibility. It is a great form of recovery but gives you so much more. Lawrence gives you amazing guidance and options to adjust the poses to suit your ability. He clearly has a lot of knowledge on dynamic functional movement and the anatomy. It's also great to be able to access the live zoom sessions as well as an abundance of pre-recorded videos, so you can add in extra strength or recovery sessions whenever it suits. Highly recommended!
