Fantastic experience: Im writing this review on behalf of my sister, she has recently received the cork chakra mat. It is beautiful quality, rolls up easily and surprisingly light in weight. It smells natural and the grip is fantastic for those who do a lot of hot yoga. My mum loves the large block and was surprised by the size. There is a nice weight to it and perfect for needing a bit of support. Thank you once again Valka for your advice and beautifully, ethically sourced products. Fantastic experience: I have recently bought 6 black yoga mats for my studio set. I’m really happy with these mats. They have great grip and feel lovely to practice on. They are a very generous size. Students arrive early to nab one of these. If you are transporting your mats around these are quite heavy but so worth it.

Fantastic experience: I have Palmar Hyperhidrosis and after a lot of searching, I was recommended this yoga mat by a friend. I am so happy with it. The cork's grip truly improves as I sweat and it's something to be experienced first hand (pardon the pun!). The design of the Elephant is so cute. Easily the best yoga mat I've ever had. If you have palmar hyperhidrosis and struggling with the other mats, trust me and give it a go!

So very happy to support a local business. I adore my yoga mat, it has had a lot of use over the last year and still in great condition. I think the cork ball and roller are a must have for after a intense workout. When I order these there was a delay getting the stock in and Danny offered me a second cork ball or something of my choice for free (even though I wasn’t bothered by the delay at all). Shipping was quick (despite NZ being in Level 3 lockdown), communication was straightforward and timely, and the packaging and experience of unboxing it with its recyclable packaging and thoughtful message is a real delight. We also got the yoga mat bag as a free gift as a promotion - it's really cute and high-quality. This is the review from my partner - I got him the Grand mat because he's 187cm tall. "I got this beautiful mat as a gift and it's amazing. Just started using it for yoga and it feels way nicer than other mats. It's also XL size so you never run out of space:) The mat is good for any kind of home exercise. It takes in sweat quickly and it does not slip when working out." Fantastic experience: This is the best yoga mat in New Zealand. The new black mats they have, have great grip and perfect for anyone that practices hot yoga or just generally sweats alot. It's comfortable, provides great grip but does not give any friction against the skin. It is light weight and can easily carry it out on my bike ride to the studios and most of all, it looks quite beautiful in that majestic shade black. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely LOVE this mat - It looks great! Most importantly, the material of the mat has made a huge difference to my yoga. My Balance is so much better. My feet also do not sweat and slide on the material. Just love it! Well worth the price. Danny has also been super at informing me about a delay in the delivery. It didn’t take that long, just post pandemic and driver shortages.

Fantastic experience: I am a massive fan of Valka Yoga products. I purchased my mat about a year ago and it still looks like new. I absolutely LOVE it and I use it everyday. It has such a beautiful energy that I usually leave it out ready for tomorrow, instead of packing it away. It’s inspirational! Also, I highly recommend the copper drink bottles. After about a year of use my husband and I continue to use these everyday and we’re 100,000% satisfied with the quality. They’re truly forever bottles. I have the copper bracelet too, but it’s now a part of me, I forgot about it, so it’s not in the photo. I get a lot of comments because it’s so dainty compared the ugly copper bracelets you see at pharmacies. Finally, EVERYONE needs to buy a yoga belt. These days we spend so much time on devices… I’ve noticed that even teens are looking hunchbacked. I’m hyper flexible so don’t really use it in my yoga routine, but I couldn’t live without it as a posture brace. There are so many YouTube tutorials showing how to use a belt for posture correction/back pain and it’s also my to go to for shoulder stretches. Fantastic experience: I’ve been buying from Valka Yoga for over a year now and each and every time it’s been a great customer experience and great value for money. My most recent purchase was the black mat which I can’t recommend enough for the insane grip - pushing back into downward facing dog (especially with dry hands and feet) is a breeze with this mat. The extra grip also takes the strain and effort off your shoulders and wrists so staying in poses like downward facing dog feels much less strenuous. Excellent cushioning, chic design and…it’s black! The new mat smell on this one isn’t quite sniff enjoyable like it is with the cork mats but a few weeks of airing soon clears the smell away. The yoga brick is a must have for supporting good alignment (and aiding balance) for twisting or balancing poses and I’ve found it to be a more stable and sturdy support than most blocks because of its wider dimensions - no wobbles or shifting from under you which means one less thing to distract you as settle into the pose.

Fantastic experience: As someone with chronic knee issues from an old judo injury, I was sceptical the premium cork mat could provide adequate support but the cushioning on this mat is simply marvellous. It’s firm enough that my feet don’t sink into the mat in standing poses, but sponge-y enough to allow the knee to fully support my body weight in a deep lunge without the usual sharp twinges I’d experience in the pose. My mat and blocks get a lot of use morning, afternoon and night and they’ve really stood up well to the pivoting, rubbing, gripping and sweating :) Still smells fresh and woodsy as the day I first received them! The texture of the mat is so lovely and soothing on the skin, I’ve caught mum occasionally sneaking a lie in on it when I’m not using it. I also love the ritual of using the tongue scraper every morning and have noticed a definite improvement in the appearance of my since using it. The scraper is easy to manipulate and clean and the little loops at the end are handy for pinning them to a cork board or on the wall for storage. The customer service at Valka Yoga has been stellar and communicating with Danny has been a quick, warm and positive experience each and every time. I look forward to seeing more Valka Yoga products with their signature minimalistic/organic/natural aesthetics that’s just up my alley.

I first bought a cork mat which while very beautiful, didn't suit my Yoga practice very well as the cork mats are more suited to hot yoga conditions (the cork mats are made more grippy with some moisture). I dont really do yoga but I love to chill on the floor and do some stretching and this mat is super comfy and I love it. Also the material is nice and eco friendly.
