fit20 Rosedale Auckland: Opinions
Positive experience: I joined fit20 to build strength and achieve weight loss. After four months, I experienced significant strength improvement, though there was no change in my weight. I would recommend this gym to individuals seeking to gradually build strength. The instructors are friendly and supportive.
Fantastic experience: I joined Fit20 having recently retired from my healthcare role and being well aware of the potential for losing muscle mass and strength due to lifestyle change as we age. I was naturally skeptical about the need for only one 20 minute session per week but was reassured after reading the research. A year on I am now a devotee! I like having a set time for my session each week and the way I feel afterwards. I enjoy the motivation, feedback and encouragement given by the trainers. Best of all are the tangible changes in my body. My legs feel stronger going downstairs and I can carry heavy bags of supermarket without struggling. My upper arms have become more muscular looking. I would encourage anyone thinking about joining to give it a try. Thank you Fit20!
So happy to hear Alex, especially about your results! As that is what our passion is; to improve the quality of life of our clients by adding strength and to see how they now have set themselves up for greater longevity and health. We will keep motivating you! Well done on you for taking action.
Fantastic experience: Best gym of my life. Love it. After 4 months, I feel stronger, leaner and the results are measured and tracked. Have not missed a single session. Efficient, smart, no hassle, no changing of clothes, no sweating, 1:1 coaching, 20 mins a week. Superb!
Fantastic experience: Fit20 has made me stronger & my personal trainer (Nirav) is always friendly, helpful and ready to customize a workout to fit my abilities.
Fantastic experience: Sounds too good to be true but it really works. I've been training at Fit20 for about a year and can truly say my strength and muscle tone has improved a lot.
So glad to hear Glenys! The sceptical thoughts we get a lot. For years we have been told, and still are told, that we need to train 3 hours per week with lots of sweat to get results. It's a myth! Scientific research proves you can train with 20 minutes just once a week to improve your health and longevity! We are lucky to be able to help you further along your health path and will keep on motivating and supporting you.Kind regards, Team fit20 Rosedale
Fantastic experience: If you are short on time & lack the discipline to get to the gym on a regular basis, then this is the gym for you. Great team of encouraging trainers & visible results after only a few weeks.
Fantastic experience: Easily the most effective workout session available, the state of the art machine's really push your body to the limit, certainly you will notice positive results in a matter of week's.
Fantastic experience: Profesional high intensity training and very client centered..scientifically proven training..awesome! And it takes 20 min per session, only :)
Fantastic experience: 20 mins of reasonable and instructor-led workout is perfect.
Fantastic experience: My Husband and myself have been attending Fit20 for over 1 year now.We are both in our late 70's and have gained a lot of strength from our training. Personalised one on one training which is monitered very closely to avoid any injuries and maximise our results. Brilliant staff and lovely venue. Give it a go you will see the results. Fantastic experience: Due to advancing osteoarthritis, I have lost my enjoyment of physical activities and find any excuse not to participate. Fit20 requires only 20 minutes per week. This I can bring myself to do and not shirk the exercises. Fitness from this training has definitely helped my quick recovery from a double knee replacement surgery.
Fantastic experience: Fit20 is amazing! Tiffeny and the team are great - very supportive and encouraging. I've been going for five months, and I'm a lot stronger and more toned - in just 20 minutes per week. Just love it!
Fantastic experience: I have been going to fit20 for a while now and have greatly improved my overall strength. In the 1 hour introduction the instructor went over any pains or concerns and the program adjusted accordingly. The instructors are super friendly very experienced and are with you all the time to ensure you are doing the exercises correctly on the machines. The gym is always spotless and has a great calming vibe. You could say I’m going from strength to strength as is fit20. Well done team.
Negative experience: I've just completed a 6 month membership here. As someone with both a medical and research background, I understand the concept behind fit20 and I was intrigued enough to give it a try. I had an excellent trainer (Nirav) who was patient and encouraging, and I found it helpful to have a brief, (theoretically) intense workout once a week to help motivate me to work out on the other days. The app (which you're given about 3 months into the training) provides some info about performance so you can see your progress. That said, I think fit20 is best suited to older folks or those rehabilitating injuries who would not otherwise do much exercise and/or who like 1:1 attention and guidance during a short workout. I'm relatively fit and well, and I never really felt challenged by the exercises. The key is that you have to do the movement sloooooooowly, and whenever I brought up the fact that I felt the weight might be too low for me, I was brushed aside and told to try going more slowly - even though the trainer watches and advises you on your pace. So while I showed improvement in the sense that I lifted X kg at first and XX kg 3 months later, I'm not convinced that I could not have lifted XX kg right from the start. I felt like I was always working at a lower weight than I really could do, and my queries were consistently ignored with promises that I could move up "next week". The fact that this lack of challenge led in turn to inflated "progress" graphs also made me a bit concerned. I chose to pay for the 6 month membership up front, rather than on a monthly or quarterly schedule. I was then surprised when the owner told me my time was up, without any kind of warning (there is supposed to be a month's notice when your membership is up, which under the circumstances I was expecting to be given rather than being the one to give it - as would be the case if I were canceling a month to month contract). I subsequently discovered that she had advised that I had used up my 6 months when, according to their own app, I had only had 20 sessions. For a 6 month membership, I expected 6 months x 4 weeks/month x 1 session/week = 24 sessions, so I was taken aback that 4 of the 24 were not provided. Some sessions had to be rescheduled when the gym was closed for a public holiday or I was ill, so I can understand some flex (and there was one session that I missed without prior notice due to the traffic on their road), but 4 sessions is a month of workouts at fit20, so this was an unwelcome surprise. I had planned to suspend my membership while some personal issues were worked out, but given the way this was handled, and my underlying concerns of being insufficiently challenged, I won't be back. There are plenty of other gyms, including others with special approaches, to try.
In general we feel sad that this client seems to not have been happy with the fit20 service we provide based on her review rating. Although we recently had done a personal evaluation with the client, discussing progress and how to move forward and issues were not mentioned and the client seemed happy with it all. A couple of notes from our side:- At fit20 we always verbally explain our terms and conditions upon signing up, as well as handing out the T and C on paper as well as sending it for the clients records to their email address. In there it clearly states that clients can book catch up sessions for missed appointments if there were valid reasons for missing it. This is the clients responsibility to act on, but we often reach out and ask the clients if they would like to reschedule and if so when and where. This also happened in this particular case. - Also in the Terms and conditions explained is that it is the clients responsibility to let us know in writing if they would want to continue the membership or not. As nothing was received the expectation was that the client wanted to continue. Upon asking how to financially approach the continuity of the membership the client mentioned not wanting to continue and also not wanting to pay for the one month notice period. - The comment that the fit20 training is for older folks or those rehabilitating is a personal feeling of this client, which doesn't reflect the actual clientele nor the science and theory of the training. In fact the youngest client at fit20 Rosedale is 15 years. And from science and research we know that as we age we loose muscle mass, so also healthy people should stay on top of their muscle mass and strength and definitely can and are helped through the fit20 training. At fit20 we strive for high quality training and service. We feel sad that in this case we apparently haven't delivered to make this client feel happy. We take all feedback seriously and will discuss the points raised internally and see if we need to take actions to improve our service where necessary.
Fantastic experience: After 3 months of training I have been truly impressed at the results. A positive change to my body shape and increased strength thanks to the methodology employed for just 20 minutes a week. Amazing. So far this program has delivered so much more than I thought possible. I would recommend it unequivocally.
Negative experience: Fit20 NZ's target market focuses on vulnerable, disabled, and elderly clients. As they provide weekly; 20mins High-Intensity Training claiming results, safety, and proven scientific evidence. Although the method is, true, effective, and reliable to the evidence. The company and/or staff do not hold, any valid qualifications within Personal Training Levels or Exercise Science to ensure clients are safe when going through the training. Trainers have no academic understanding of clients who are critical or have chronic conditions. Work Safe NZ has been notified.
It is difficult to understand the background of this review as there is no name mentioned, so we don't know if this person actually is a client here and if they have experienced our training and our trainers. Or if this is an outsider who somehow feels offended. In general rest assured; all our trainers have an official personal training background. Some of them also hold medical degrees. All our personal trainers also go through the fit20 international Academy. All this and the many years of experience of our personal trainers definitely leads to the ability to understand how to adapt the training to specific needs if necessary. We always go through a health intake first during our one hour introduction training, so that if necessary we can adapt our training to specific needs. Or if we think due to health concerns we can't train the person well, we will be honest about it. At fit20 we train people of all sorts of ages and backgrounds, some of them with health concerns, others without. The youngest client we are currently training is 15 year, the oldest client in the Netherlands is 96. Sometimes we need to adapt our training, other times we don't have to. This depends of health concerns and the clients goals. So the comment about that we focus on vulnerable and disabled clients is misplaced.Yes, there is a lot of science and research behind our training method and indeed it's true and reliable! In conclusion; at fit20 we don't recognise us in the above statement as far as the trainers and the target market comments. And find it difficult as we don't know where and whom these comments are coming from. For any one considering fit20; come and talk to us during a free introduction training. There you can ask all the questions you might have about your personal situation or we can address any concerns you might have. At fit20 we are passionate about improving the health and fitness of our clients and fit20's mission of "improving the quality of life of our clients by adding strength" speaks for itself.Kind regards, Team fit20 Rosedale
Fantastic experience: I have been going to fit20 for 4 months now and wow I am so impressed with the transformation my body shape and my strength have improved beyond my expectations for such a short period of time I look forward to my session every week with Amit no room for injury and 20 minutes once a week is great for my busy schedule. I cant recommend them enough to all my friends have got 5 friends signed up already FANTASTIC FOR ANYONE
Fantastic experience: I'm not usually a gym person so I was attracted to the 20 minutes per week which I felt I could commit to. However, in the 3 months that I have attended, fit20 has exceeded my expectations in terms of physical results and general improvement in my overall health. My lower back issues have improved to the point where I no longer ache. I actually enjoy my training sessions with Catharina and the team. The motivation and encouragement during the sessions together with explaining how the exercises benefit me has kept me going back each week and working hard in the sessions. They take very good care of you to ensure you are doing the exercises properly to get the best results and avoid injury. Highly recommend fit20!
Fantastic experience: With my long work hours and two young children, going to gym regularly was a dream. When I first tried Fit20, I thought I could commit to 20 minutes per week but I didn't expect to see much results. But I was surprised when started noticing changes after only 3 sessions! Wow, it works! Now, I finally got rid of my chronic back pain, feeling more energetic and more definitions in my muscles. It's amazing to see how I progress after each and every session. Catharina and Samantha are friendly, professional trainers who keep the energy high and encourage you to go on. The environment has good vibe, neat and tidy, keeping the focus on you and your workout. I really enjoy Fit20 and highly recommend it, especially to people like me, who don't have time for long hours of workout in crowded gyms.
Fantastic experience: I have been a client for 8 weeks now and can definitely feel the strength in my muscles when I walk up stairs etc I'm the type of person who would join a gym then not go. I find 20 mins a week very easy to manage and feel confident now that it's enough to support my health on many levels now that I'm older. I also have a foot injury so can't walk as much . Fit 20 is a perfect replacement for my loss of activity. A great team as well
Fantastic experience: Going to FIT 20 every helped me a lot with my strength and body positioning, something I had a problem with for years (due to my profession). The sessions are short and very efficient. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.
Negative experience: I have to say I am too much disappointed with the employee from fit20. Especially the one Catherina - very rude to me. Do not recommend this business.
At fit20 we always welcome any client feedback as its an opportunity to learn, grow and improve. As we don't recognise the above person as a client or some one who we have met in our business and there is no mentioning of the situation involved its difficult to understand this feedback in regards to fit20.
Fantastic experience: Living it
Fantastic experience: Fit20 has provided me with a high quality and very personal training perspective. The ability to training quickly, on a schedule and one on one with a trainer in a quiet studio has made me look forward to the my sessions. I have been attending for a year and don't intend to stop.
Fantastic experience: I opted to try fit20 because going to the gym stressed me out. But I could commit to 20 minutes a week. Before I began the programme, I had a lingering pain in my left shoulder and write elbow. When I asked my trainer if I should see a physio, she encouraged me to wait until I strengthened myself. So I waited. After about 2 months, I realised I wasn't feeling the pain much, until the pain went away. So I never had to see the physio - turned out I just needed to build strength. I also appreciate the professionalism and friendliness of the fit20 crew. They push me to keep going and lift more, and am so proud of the gains I've made in strength and fitness. After 5 months, I fit better into my clothes (I now weigh 4 kgs less because of eating mindfully and walking in addition to my fit0 workouts), I feel stronger. At 54 years, my core is at its strongest and has served me well in my day to day activities. A recent sprain healed faster, I believe, because I am also healthier and stronger. Even family and friends have noticed the positive changes, and I am grateful I found fit20.
Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I have gained so much strength in the past few years and my bone mass has improved considerably. Great friendly trainers. I would recommend Fit20 to anyone who who wants to improve strength and is time poor. Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: I have been attending Fit20 for over 2yrs now, thoroughly look forward to each session, all staff so friendly and professional with attention to detail, definately a bonus to be rewarded after significiant amount of sessions, the benefits of resistance training especially as we age are vital
Fantastic experience: With only 20 minutes a week training, in my very busy schedule, provides me huge benefits in strength and fitness. Great program and very good trainers.
Fantastic experience: Jacqui and I have been attending fit 20 for over 3 months, under the watchful eye of Catharina & Joel. Jacqui's chiropractor has noticed great improvement in her back since joining. We would both totally recommend Fit 20
