Koshinkai Aikido Dojo: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Koshinkai Aikido Dojo has been transformative for me. It's not just a place to learn martial arts; it's a place to grow, both physically and mentally. Justin Sensei is not just expert in Aikido but also incredibly dedicated and passionate about teaching this martial art. The sense of community and support among fellow Aikidokai is truly heartwarming. From beginners to advanced students, everyone is encouraged and supported in their journey. What sets Koshinkai apart is their emphasis on the holistic aspect of Aikido. It's not just about physical techniques but also about mental focus, discipline, and harmony. The classes are well-structured, offering a perfect balance of rigorous training and philosophical insights. The facility itself is top-notch, spacious, clean, and equipped with everything needed for a fulfilling practice session. Whether you're a beginner or have prior experience, this dojo caters to all skill levels with equal attention and care. If you're looking for a welcoming, authentic, and enriching Aikido experience, look no further than Koshinkai Aikido Dojo!
Fantastic experience: I’ve spent many years training in Koshinkai Aikido. Initially with David Lynch and now with Justin Lewis and I love it with a passion. I started Aikido after studying Taekwondo for 9 years and finding that my joints were just not up to high impact pursuits anymore. Additionally, something was just missing, I wanted more out of my martial arts. In Koshinkai Aikido I found the right balance of mental, spiritual and physical training to satisfy this need. Aikido can be practised by any age group and the techniques learnt can be readily applied to self defence in the real world without years of repetitive practice. In modern parlance, you hit the ground running. Aikido is non-competitive and very inclusive but at the same time incredibly effective. If you find me saying that to be odd or counter intuitive then come along to watch a training session and see what I mean. I’ve found Aikido life changing. I like to think that you will too. Fantastic experience: Really amazing dojo and instruction - I'm loving it. The quality of instruction is highly personalised, careful, and expert. The vibe is also moves in a thoughtful way through reflective calm moments to begin then through to energising and engaging. Unlike some of the bigger mcdojos out there, this place is genuinely interested in developing a life-long practice of Aikido and investing in its practitioners. I highly recommend this dojo to anyone interested in learning Aikido safely and thoroughly.
Fantastic experience: I attended Koshinkai Aikido Dojo in Auckland with excellent teachers who created a friendly and respectful environment. The people there were genuinely nice, making my experience enjoyable and positive.
Fantastic experience: Comprehensive aikido school, instructors trained in multiple styles, every class different advanced & basic’s thought to all, love the option to train in mornings before work- also 3-night classes so lots of training possible. Highly recommend Koshinkai Aikido. Thanks,

Fantastic experience: Wonderful dojo - both the beautiful space itself and the people who train in it. A very patient and caring vibe, allowing people to learn and grow together no matter their level of experience. Very dedicated, knowledgeable and compassionate leadership team, whose passion for the art of Aikido give the dojo an incredible amount of heart. Highly recommend training here.
Fantastic experience: Not so much a dojo, more of a metaphysical journey to a better life. Masakatsu, agatsu.
