Tenshin Aikido NZ

Fantastic experience: After years of training many other martial art styles it was time to try Aikido, and I couldn't have found a better place. The dojo is recently renovated, Tenshin style is practical, Sensei Craig is methodical but easy going, and there is a good bunch of guys to train with. I highly recommend trying it out.

Negative experience: I took adult classes here when I was 14 years old. The instructor I had - Craig Andrew - physically abused me by hitting me on the head with a wooden knife when I made a mistake. My main reason for sharing this is, I want parents to think twice about sending their children here. Children are vulnerable and don't know how to assert their rights. If you do send your children here, check with them after every lesson. Ask them if anything happened that they didn't like. Children don't always know when or how to speak up.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful dojo in a peaceful bush reserve, really friendly, with simple, practical teaching for beginners as well as advanced students. Really enjoyable and really useful.
