Fantastic experience: These pools are an absolute treasure to the community of Kawerau & beyond! - multiple pools with different depths & temps - awesome family spa - large covered bbq area with lots of picnic tables & seats available - water feature park for the kids (would be good if they turned it on more though) - jumping pillow (trampoline alternative) out the back for the kids too! - bathrooms are always clean & tidy with lots of room, showers & toilets - family change rooms available too - best of all, they're FREE!!!!

Fantastic experience: Been here once but very impressed. Free to enter. Different pools to choose from with a map telling you what the pools are, on the wall upon entry. Very clean and the pools are kept well maintained, being closed for a few weeks each year to keep them to a high standard.

Fantastic experience: Possibly the most well maintained public swimming complexes I've ever visited. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and there was no ticket office. That's right, the town provides the facility for free! Thanks Kauwarau.

Fantastic experience: It's such a wonderful place to relax and soak your body. The floors in the changing room are heated. There are also showers provided. The fact that it is free is amazing! The only thing they charge is for the BBQ's. I highly recommend you visit here for a relaxing soak.

Fantastic experience: The kids loved it here even though it was raining and wet. Clean and lots of picnic tables and places to sit. BBQ ‘s for hire also. The pools are so warm and good for young children. The staff were friendly and kind. Totally recommend and it’s free. This place is so much better than the Polynesian pools in Rotorua by far

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved it. We took our toddler and she could not get enough of the kiddy pool. It was fun for the whole family as we had a picnic, played in water and just relaxed. The staff was so attentive and made sure everyone was safe but having fun

Fantastic experience: Its The place to Be...! the life guards are Busy doing what they are supposed to be doing.. they are not there as Admin to answer the Phone for you! any changes to the schedule is always posted on there f/b page, its just a matter of opening your eyes and have a look!!

Fantastic experience: Can't say enough about this place! We visit all year round, each time we are in Kawerau. Lovely well maintained and clean pools and spa, professional lifeguards

Positive experience: Love the facilities and the fact that it is free to the public. The only feedback I would provide is because we live outside of Kawerau, it would be helpful if staff would answer the phone so that we know whether the pools are open. There have been a couple of instances where the pools are supposed to be open but have been closed for different reasons.

Fantastic experience: Good place, would recommend to purchase a private high to spend the evening with relaxing water sounds and the heat from the spa.

Fantastic experience: I make sure I spend an hour or two daily in the spa every time we are in Kawerau which helps my various health issues, being thermal makes a great difference.

Fantastic experience: Great for early morning laps, either walking or swimming. As of Thursday 17th February 2022 Vaccine Passes required. (Finally, I'm one of the 'cool kids' )

Fantastic experience: Fantastic clean changing facilities. Pools suitable for lane swimming, soaking, and children. And best it all it's free! Only downside is that it doesn't open until 9 am.

Fantastic experience: Excellent complex, love the fact that it is free to the community, anyone and everyone from near and far are able to enter and there is a heated spa pool and range of pools on offer. The kids enjoy the splash pad but the Just Right Kids get a lot of fun out of bouncing on the jumping pillow. The kids were more than happy to play all afternoon on the jumping pillow. No one actually went swimming that day.

Fantastic experience: Love coming here when we visit family nearby, free pools, facilities clean, kids love the pools and the sprinkler area, the bbq and picnic tables all under cover great place. unfortunately last trip it was shut for the month of July

Fantastic experience: What a hidden gem! Pool complex is free and has hot and cold options. Kawerau caters for freedom campers with two area's available with powered site's. Keys from I site. Shopping area very minimal and run down. Plenty of food outlets and awesome smoothie, frappe, coffee and other yummy stuff at shed outside pool but still plenty of activities for canoeing, mountain biking, walking.

Positive experience: Staff on Sunday were lovely but not so today sadly. Pity about covid, couldn't soak in the hot pool, not quite sure why when we can use all the other pools. Good on the council and community for providing such a lovely free facility.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful place for the community to enjoy and visitors to spend some time relaxing in the hot pools or swimming lengths in the heated lane pool. Lots of space for the children to play, a splash pad and a bouncy pillow, bring a picnic or some fish and chips from down the road and enjoy what lots of towns miss out on!
