The Y Glen Innes Pool and Leisure Centre

Positive experience: Recently been here. I use the medium pool mainly, I did see some band aid and gum in the side grates of this pool. There was no hook to hang your bag on the shower cubicle I used, and a huge wad of hair on the floor in one of the shower cubicles in the ladies. Does need a clean in ladies changing and new shower curtains. I do like the fact you can swim in the pools unhassled, and poolside showers are nice and warm.

Positive experience: Good gym could use a couple machines though like a lateral raise machine, plate loaded chest press and smith machine (preferably not hoist). Would love to see these In the gym if possible.

Negative experience: It was disgusting there was COCKROACHES between the wood of the steps inside the pool the floor was modelling and there was gross stuff in the pools but the life gards are nice and funny. please fix this

Fantastic experience: Great place to go we went for water walking which you can to in the main pool or the play pool then off ito the spa, also has a steam room and SUNA too.

Negative experience: middle short hair lady sit down are Unfriendly…It looks like you don't want to work. If you're going to sit there and be rude, I suggest you stay home. Thanks to all other friendly staff

Fantastic experience: While the gym itself is excellent, always clean and the pools are sparkling, I wish staff were more vigilant about making sure members clean their equipment after use and refrain from saving the equipment for themselves by placing their towel and bottle on the machines. Some members are also aggressive and have bullied me several times. This behavior should be managed properly rather than ignored. I now cannot go to the gym in the mornings because of an aggressive member who saves machines for 20 minutes or more and is particularly rude and arrogant, giving me threatening looks on occasion. This puts me off an otherwise excellent gym.

Positive experience: Great pool 33 meters. Would like to see some individual changing rooms with hooks and seats. Was able to swim lengths easily. Recommend.

Negative experience: Training there for few months so far. good and friendly staff, but few equipments are really really worn out. Triceps extension ropes cost only $20 guys , can you please replace them? as the ones you have are looking as if they are from ice age. It's a health and safety issue. Thank you

Positive experience: Everything you need in a local pools. It is a shame that the kids pool is often closed as the leisure pool is a bit deep for little ones - so can be stressful if you have more than one to supervise. If you want to use the shallower pool with wee kids its best to call ahead to see if that pool is open. Children enter for free so can't complain. Friendly staff.

Negative experience: 1 score, because they didn't change their schedule for New Year holidays in Google maps, and it didn't comply with their real schedule.

Negative experience: This is my regular pool but I am really disappointed about the service. I called 4 times today to check if the hours on Google were correct for the holiday period but no one answered. I went along based on the hours listed in google and found they closed early!!!! Why aren't they updating the hours? They could update their phone message to say they are on holiday hours or even... ANSWER THE PHONE?

Fantastic experience: I really this Pool. Never too busy to do a swim, sauna and steam room. Changing rooms are clean and showers are decent. The hot pool is delightful, I could stay there all day. Staff are friendly too. Car park usually looks full but I think it’s because the majority use the gym. $7 for swim and sauna etc not sure about the gym as I haven’t used it.

Negative experience: Staffing are unfriendly if your member should you not be told the gym is closed to an event they redirected me to another gym it’s not the point. Reception just went oh you can’t go in no apologies. This GI gym is bloody awful ‍♀️

Positive experience: Great place to take the kids for a swim, however the kids pool opened later than advertised which was a bit of a bummer. We had to take the kids to the bigger pool. Very reasonably priced

Positive experience: We went in to veiw the facilities, they have a lane pool, kid's pool sauna gym and adults only spa pool. Which sucks for the kid's hence the four stars. Staff are young professional and friendly the facility clean so we'll definitely be going back

Fantastic experience: This Y has it together, really a nice facility. Spa, sauna wet and dry, indoor pool which has an walking lane, plenty of good swimming to enjoy, it's uncrowded and easy parking. Lovely pool facility

Fantastic experience: Without a doubt, this complex, swimming pool and Spa pool are world beaters, it smells fresh, hygienic and therefore to be honest, a real joy visiting, the whole complex is indoors, never feels cold, today the wind and rain were fair beating outside.The staff here are very cordial, and friendly, the physiotherapist also in house here, where I've been getting a bit of work on an injury I sustained as a volunteer fireman out the West Coast is certainly helping my recovery. Its a great environment I thoroughly recommend it.

Positive experience: Great pools just why don’t you open later at night. It’s almost impossible to get there after work / kids to bed then get a decent swim in. Should be open until 10pm in Auckland!

Fantastic experience: Joined while temporarily in Auckland and attended fitness classes. Great location - not busy, easy access with lots of parking, surrounded by nice reserves for running or walking nearby. Staff were all very helpful and there was a pretty good class schedule facilitated by capable, friendly instructors. The other members were also very welcoming and sociable. Overall I got excellent value for money. NB I attended yoga and Pilates, but didn't use the pool so can't comment about that. The gym is reasonably well kitted out.

Fantastic experience: Great complex. 4 pools, 1 long lane swimming, one leisure with one lane, one teaching pool and a spa pool which is lovely and hot. Also has a large Steam room and sauna, which are lovely to relax in. Had a gym on site but have not been, also a physio available too. Nice and clean with good changing rooms and showers.

Positive experience: Lovely front desk staff and fun long-term group fitness instructors. Lifeguards can be pretty rude/inattentive and sometimes wander off, leaving two pools full of children unattended. The warmest pool is closed most of the times we have been, and asking to open it requires staff they don't usually have. During a lightning storm, there was a huge roof leak all over electrical equipment and open sockets right next to the pool, but staff didn't ask anyone to leave. Lost my confidence in the teenagers running the show after that one.

Negative experience: It's great and all but is Hase no diving bored no outside pool or any slides so it's quite plain

Positive experience: Water is clean and clear. Temperature a little too cool but otherwise an excellent pool to train in.

Negative experience: Due to the poor interpretation of Jacinda Aderns latest Mask rules where on 25th Jan (yesterday)she states that swimming pools no longer need to enforce a Mask wearing rule,your hopeless management have failed to note this...therefore I cancelled my membership after 6 years...

Positive experience: Under staffed so the couldn't open the small toddlers pool last time I went there and only have one lane open in the big pool for play and the rest of the lanes were being used for people swimming laps which is not great when you have kids that want to enjoy a swim.

Positive experience: Good lap pool & sauna. Sadly the leisure pool is often closed for swim & exercise classes - not so good for little kids or anyone wanting to splash around :( Until restrictions ease and their kids pool reopens, nearby Panmure Pools is a much better option for families (Jan 2020)

Fantastic experience: Great pool and great staff. We paid for the mum and dad to get in dor our two boys even though only our toddler was swimming and the recption staff gave money back for our older son. Great attention to detail and what is happening in their pool. Though I got told off for taking a pic of my son, I should have read the 50 or so signs haha. Thanks GI pools good outing.

Negative experience: The receptionist today was very rude. I went in with my 7 month old Son because I rang up a head of time asking if the baby pools were open. She gave a time which is only an hour which I thought was fine because my son isn't going to stay in there long. I turned up just for her to say that it's closed. I said I rang up earlier and then she changed her tone. She said I thought you were someone else. Wth does that mean? It was hard to quickly get my son ready in such a short time. But I made it, I never ended up going in because I was angry with what was coming out of her mouth. I know we have to be nice. But what about the workers put some effort in too.

Negative experience: Worst Pool in Auckland by far. Their sauna steam is not working yet they charged same price? which I hesitantly paid and when the spa is only thing working this time because last time it was not u expect a spa to have bubbles but there was no bubble or hot water when I had questioned about it they said they cannot adjust it the bubbles. I then agreed to leave right away and get my money back luckily there was another pool nearby just a km away who catered my needs but won't be going back to this one

Negative experience: $1.50 entrance fee for a spectator to sit on a bench and watch her husband take our baby for a 20 minute swim? I don’t think so. Thought this would be covered in our rates and other pools it’s free. We walked out and won’t be back, will take our money elsewhere.

Positive experience: we used to be members here some years ago. We left because of the huge price jump. YMCA is a non profit and we did not expect it to charge at the very top level of gyms. We were told that it is because it has a pool. Not everyone wants to use the other facilities - just to go to the gym. Nor is it taken into account when there were three members from the same family, who were looking to join. Sorry that we will not be able to join you.

Fantastic experience: been going here the better part of a year now and no complaints! always clean, well kept, and a LOT of different workout options. I'm all about the GI YMCA life.
