The Cromwell Pool on was built in the 1980s as part of the Clyde Dam redevelopment and extensively upgraded in 2007. It is located on Barry Avenue and sits on the Anderson Park recreational area. The indoor heated facility today boasts a 25-metre lap pool, a therapeutic and learners' pool and a toddlers' pool. The facility also has a great spa pool to unwind in. To complement the pool, there is also a privately operated fitness centre on site - NRG Health and Fitness Centre.
Catering for water play as well as swimming for health and fitness, the pool also offers a range of water-based programmes and activities, including aqua aerobics and swim classes. It is open year-round.

Located within Molyneux Park off Centennial Avenue in Alexandra, the complex provides something for everyone. Built in 2003 to replace the old Centennial Baths, the substantial facility includes a 25m lap pool, a large therapeutic/learners' pool and spa pool, particularly popular over the winter months. There is also an outdoor pool for summer use with an expansive area of grass to lie back and enjoy.

*A pre-schooler is free when accompanied by a caregiver over the age of 16 years of age. As per our supervision policy, all under 5s must always be within arms' reach of the caregiver, and the caregiver must be in the pool at all times.
Safety comes first. All pool crew would insist that parents and caregivers meet their supervision responsibilities. Reading and using cell phones is not acceptable behaviour when supervising children under 10 years of age.
From 1 July 2023, the Council will be introducing orange and purple wristbands so that lifeguards can immediately identify children in the target age groups.
Children under the age of 5 years old usually play in shallow areas, keeping them within arm’s reach means you can prevent them from falling over, going too deep, and getting into difficulty. It has been reported that it only takes 20 seconds for a child to drown.
This helps pool crew to quickly identify children’s age, and that a caregiver is also looking after that child. The wristbands also increased awareness and serve as a reminder that the child is in the high-risk age group.
All 5–9-year-olds will need to be escorted to and from lessons by a parent or caregiver. They are also required to wear a wristband to swimming lessons.
We will work hard to make sure everyone understands this policy and why it's important. If we come across people who do not follow these rules, we we'll educate them. However, children will not be allowed in the water if they are not accompanied by a caregiver. If violations of this policy continue, individuals may be asked to leave the facility for the safety of their children and all users.
It’s pool crew’s role to supervise everyone using the facility. As a parent or caregiver, you know your child and their limits better than the staff do. If you see your child getting out of their depth, or moving away from your supervision, you can best direct them back to a safer area.
The following pools are summer pools only. Ranfurly Pool is a Council facility and the other three pools (Millers Flat, Ophir and Roxburgh) are community run facilities.
This large indoor facility heated by solar gain and a heat pump consists of a 5-lane, 30m main pool with a small toddlers' pool. The pool is popular with locals and visitors alike to cool off, to play or to swim for health and fitness. Depth:1.35m.
The pool opens to the public at the beginning of December and closes in April, dependent on the weather conditions. Pool charges can be found in our fees and charges.
Within the peaceful settlement of Millers Flat is this gem of an outdoor pool. For older folks the pool will remind you of days gone by, where outdoor pools were the norm bustling with activity and laughter on the long hot days of summer. With its 25m pool and expansive grounds, the pool is a great place to keep fit, meet up with family or friends or just relax poolside. Depth:1.65m.

This pool is a Central Otago District Council owned facility which is operated by a team of volunteers from the Ophir community. The pool is primarily funded by the local community with entry operated under an honesty system.
Those wanting to purchase a season pass can do so at the Ophir Post Office and there is an honesty box within the pool grounds for casual swimmers who wish to use the facility.
Located at the north end of Cheviot Street this is a great place to take the family to cool off over summer or to keep fit swimming laps in the 25m long outdoor pool. For spectators, there is a large area of shade with seating.
The Roxburgh Pool is operated by a local committee and is open over the summer months. Key fobs can be purchased from the pool shop from 1pm to 5pm daily. Enquires can be made by contacting 027 474 0029 (1pm-5pm) or 03 446 8773.

Positive experience: Für nur 6,50$ pp Eintritt in das Schwimmbad, welches eine 25m bahn, 2 weitere kleine Becken und ein hot pool enthält... kann man sich nicht groß beschweren. Einzige Kritikpunkte sind, dass es keine Liegestühle hier gibt und föhne auch erst auf Nachfrage verfügbar sind. Aber immerhin sind sie verfügbar durch freundlich es Personal.
Fantastic experience: Instalaciones limpias, grandes y para todos por muy poco precio. 6nz PP con derecho a duchas. Tienen una piscina de agua caliente 38-40 grados, la olímpica con calles, una para niños pequeños con una catarata y una gigante en la que, por cuadrantes, tienes diferentes profundidades indicadas para tus hijos. Ponen juegos para sumergirse y corchos de flotabilidad a tu disposición. La temperatura es perfecta, puedes estar durante horas y muy agusto. Las duchas, de agua caliente van con pulsador. Tienen jabón, no tienen secador pero si enchufes, aunque no caben los adaptadores de otros países. Encontré un enchufe plano en el cambiador familiar, increíble idea para poderse cambiar todos juntos en la familia como en casa. Es todo perfecto y muy recomendable.

Positive experience: Not big but quite nice water centre. They have 3 pools - lane pool for normal swiming, then second warmer pool for therapeutic or kids purpose but you can hang around inside as you wish (it's not really occupied so we played with a ball inside and it was ok). Last one is spa pool = hot pool which is very pleasant. Showers are ok. You can also come just to take a shower for some fee. The adult entry is $ 6,50.
