Negative experience: Over chlorinated water to the extreme. I get severe nasal allergies swimming here and they need to tone down the level of chlorine used. May have to find somewhere else. Do not recommend if you have any allergies, this place will block your sinuses up for days.

Fantastic experience: Good pool for young kids . Affordable Nice outdoor area too

Fantastic experience: We regularly visit the Gallagher Aquatic Center with our daughter. The child's pool has been great for her to build her confidence in the water and get a better understanding of how to react in certain environments. Have recently found Sunday's aren't the best for casual swims as they block the deeper half the child's swimming pool off for lessons. None the less, still a great place for learning.

Positive experience: Shower facility is totally overpriced, takes forever to actually warm up and even then its barely lukewarm, button needs pressing every 5-10 seconds. Generally the facilities are cramped and ran down..5$ for just taking a shower in such conditions is a joke. On the positive side, the staff is friendly and when complaining about the msihap with the hot water not working, they offered a refund for the money paid.

Negative experience: Too expensive for what it offers. For the same price, you would have access to a great 50m pool + sauna + cold plunge + free lockers + great leisure pool at Splash Palace in Invercargill for example - same kind of place, public pools, totally different deal. Here, it's just a mediocre pool, a bad leisure area and that's it. And you have to pay for the lockers. Hamilton pools are all about the money. Feels like a "if you're not satisfied, go home" kind of thing simply because you have no options in this city.

Positive experience: It's a public swimming pool... What more can you say. Been half a dozen times and I've always had space to swim. It's safe, clean and hygienic; sufficient lanes; decent changing facilities and the staff are okay, if not overly friendly. 100% meets my requirements (other than the ridiculous prices that are common to all NZ public swimming facilities!)

Negative experience: Very disappointed they are running on winter times during our hot summer. Not good they are closed at the hottest part of the day. Their response is we can go to Waterworld. Why would I want to go to the other side of Hamilton when we have one her in our own area. Make that make sense to me?

Fantastic experience: We had such an amazing experience with very friendly and kind staff Haley (on 26th Aug in between 11 - 11:30). What a good example of a great customer service in a timely manner.

Negative experience: Some people in this pool wear street clothes(cotton t shirts and shorts) and the staff don’t care. That’s disgusting.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and helpful staff. I arrived at 1pm and they advised BEFORE paying about the winter opening hours, closing 2pm on a Saturday. Thanks a lot ;-)

Fantastic experience: Great place to go if not busy with swim schools. Has a great pool for kids to learn to swim. It is a lot less busy than waterworld. All kept warm throughout the winter.

Fantastic experience: Always clean, and well staffed. A big expensive for big families, maybe consider offering a family pass, or a local discount? The only other problem was last time the showers were freezing for a good 5 mins which isn't so great when you have to keep pushing the button and have a toddler in your arms!

Negative experience: Well my daughter has 3 children 2 under 7. There is a sign up clearly stating that all children under 7 must be supervised by an adult. I thought I would go along just to observe. I do not think that a person that is there to watch their own kids , therefore helping the life guards, should have to pay $2. It's only 2bux but it's the principal of the idea actually.

Positive experience: When the toddler pool is open or its not too busy its perfect. But we've been there a few times when its been closed and they haven't informed us when we've arrived and its kind-of been a waste of time as the other pool is too deep and is too cold for young children or babies for a long period of time. Staff are friendly and nice though.

Positive experience: I just went here to use the shower. Pros - The shower has a curtain - There are hooks directly outside to hang your bag - There is a shelf inside to hold your soap - It’s nice that the changing area is divided into small areas so if there’s not too many people around you do have some privacy Cons - It costs $5 for an adult - There is no student discount - The water stops after 10 seconds so you have to keep pushing the button - The water is only luke warm - The water is so piercing on the skin that it hurts delicate areas

Negative experience: The staff need customer service training, they are so worried about what you are wearing, they had no idea how many kids we had & got a fright when we rebuked them with our kids jumping in the water (under 2s). Its not the first time weve been approached about this, its embarrasing that our clothing is suitable and we have to show what our clothes are made of.

Positive experience: Disappointing today Jan 6th as we had no tutor for our Aquafit class, this not the first time that this has happened. Otherwise pleasant staff and pool temperature is good.

Positive experience: Good indoor pools. Kid pool is heated slightly. There's also a playground outside for kids that don't wanna swim. Plenty of parking. Close to shops.

Positive experience: Nice clean swimming pool. Limited amount to do for 6-7 year old children, very cold and unheated changing rooms and corridor made for a chilly experience and at over $20 for a family to get in it felt quite expensive.

Fantastic experience: When water world is busy this place wasn't and their facilities may be smaller but the staff are just as friendly and pricing is the same. I was allowed to take a waterproof phone into a pool that no one else was in to take pics of my family.

Positive experience: First lessons today with my <6 month old. Instructor was amazing, pool areas are spacious and modern, had a great time. Only thing... Change rooms are very cold (apparently the family room is even colder). Not great when you have a small baby you're trying to get warm and dry, as well as yourself standing there dripping and shivering!

Positive experience: The water was clean but I think it is more suitable for children than adults. The hot pool is too shallow and the deepest part of the swiming pool is roughly 2 m.

Fantastic experience: Great location. Plenty of space. Outdoor Playground is great for kids. There is one large cold pool with lanes marked and a smaller heated pool. Love when the blow up obstacle course is put up in the large pool, it is a lot of fun.
