Negative experience: Website says they close at 9PM, they rudely told us to leave as they were closed as of 3:30 at 3:45PM

Negative experience: This aquatic centre is extremely racist as they do not allow the black people into the pools as statistically they have the highest drown rate according to the staff.

Negative experience: The reception staff here are so rude never smile and are so slow dealing with Customers. Yesterday I went to swim in Ivan Wilson Pool there were 4 staff standing around gossiping. I got out and used Family shower as I have mobility issues. Someone knocked on the door twice the second time wad so loud I got such a fright. The lap pool is having renovations done and I noticed the change room for Males was CLOSED so they were told to use family rooms. Hence why I was hurriedly asked to get out of the family room. Appalling behaviour. This is a Health and Safety issue why are the City Council still operating a Public pool like this? More than enough staff being paid standing around doing nothing when there was 4 people in the pool. Then the pounding on the door so loudly not once but twice was disturbing. It's not my fault the facilities are out of order. Not impressed at all.

Negative experience: Please don't send your generated Reply message about Pool undergoing maintenance. Why are you operating when there are no showers or change rooms currently for Males. They are expected to use Family / Mobility Showers. Not good enough! RUDE RECEPTION STAFF needs to be addressed absolute appalling and humiliating overall experience yesterday.

Positive experience: A bit run down -it doesn't really measure up against other facilities around the country. Tiles missing in the pools, and some pools have very worn floors. Activities are limited for children. No toys are available for children to use The shower facilities are poor, and I would probably use other facilities in the area for showering. Cheapest pool to use in Napier. Ocean Spa is twice the price!

Positive experience: Looking a bit dated but is ok. Good pool for small children, like that I can watch kids pool from the hot pools & kids are allowed in hot pool if supervised. Not a lot to do in the pool. Hydroslides look interesting.

Positive experience: If you are just here for a training swim and or little kids this does the trick. If you are looking for a 'polished' aquatic experience, this is not it although it was very good and got the job done. Value for money was ok as well.

Negative experience: CSR did not advise that only 1/4 of the complex was able to be used. The only reason I go there is to use the pool I was reprimanded for entering with my young daughter. I was never told upon entry that this was the case, and would not of entered the pool if i had known this. I was charged 14.80 for the use of the todddlers pool,. and one slide ticket that was not able to be used. This is disgusting. I used to love this place when it was an outdoor pool back in the early 90s. This is really bad. Sort it out people. Or loose the whole complex.

Negative experience: Probably the worst I've seen it in a long time. Two code browns whilst we were there. Slides got closed twice. Changing rooms were filthy. Everything just felt tired. Nice to see new tables and chairs though.

Fantastic experience: Great too see a swimming pool with a decent amount of staff. The staff were very good when my little man slipped over and grazed his knee.

Fantastic experience: We all loved this aquarium in Napier. This is something special and definitely great place to visit. Kids loved it and parents as well

Positive experience: Pretty solid pool park, a few pools inside including a spa and kids pool, a couple of water slides and also a sweet splash pad outside. Fairly priced and friendly staff! Kids love going there on the hot days. One down side is the lockers that need $2 every time you want to access stuff. Other then that mint!

Fantastic experience: This is a great public pool. The two slides are always fun, and the staff are usually quite helpful. Be sure to check which labs are open before you go. Sometimes the big pool is dedicated to a small team.

Negative experience: The two lady Receptionist is rude!! Not polite and nice to deal with at all. The place gets so badly overcrowded.

Negative experience: Waste of money only one hydro slide was going and slow nothing on the $2 lockers to say if you reopen it you won't be able to lock it again Not to mention the guards were to busy chatting to each other not really watching the kids like they should and babies in the spa pool all the time young as 6mths old their is a sign plan and clear NO CHILDREN UNDER A certain age won't be going their again

Fantastic experience: Had a great time at Napier Aquatic Centre today. I want to give a special shout out to a staff member named Manaia, who went above and beyond to be helpful and professional. It was my first time visiting, and I had a few questions- I was so impressed with his positive attitude as he helped me with everything I needed. If someone could please pass on my acknowledgments to Manaia, I would really appreciate it. He is a credit and asset to the team at Napier Aquatic Centre. Ka pai Manaia, keep up the great mahi :)

Fantastic experience: A lovely big complex with everything water wise on offer. We loved the warm spa pools . Was tempted by the water slides but the warm pool kept me there

Positive experience: Staff are friendly, vending machine food is a reasonable price. However ,the pools always have hair, plasters and other things floating around. This is expected as younger kids and other people use the pools. The slide is the best part. When you slide down it, you see multiple colors appear above you. The best part of it is when you try and compete against your mate to see if you will be the first to get out of the slide.

Fantastic experience: It was a fun way for the grandchildren and I to spend 4½ hours during school holidays. The children loved every minute. Slides, pools and the large inflatable gave lots to do.

Fantastic experience: Love the Aquatic Centre, well set out and always clean and tidy. The hot pools are at the right temperature and the 50 metre pool is nice and refreshing, love it. An excellent facility.

Fantastic experience: I love coming here, but only because I'm relearning to swim and having the best time doing it. Fantastic teacher, staff are always friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: The aquatic centre is rather dated, and a bit disappointing, especially given how good most other things in Napier are. The pools felt cold, especially compared to the temperatures listed them being on the website. They were far too cold for our 1 1/2 year old, and even our 2 1/2 year old struggled with it. As a result we spent a bit of time in the adult spa, as the kid friendly spa was out of action. Basic facilities, although it has 2 water slides, which were fun. The water on these was warm enough too, although a little chilly getting to the top of the slides. Not somewhere I recommend visiting as an out of timber, nor someone who lives in Napier. The only problem there is if you want to go for a swim there isn't anywhere else really in Napier which is as cheap as here.

Positive experience: Not very big, lighting a bit dark, small but friendly place, was kinda pushed to try and pay for aqua aerobics which was good but I'd rather just pay the discounted fare to use normal pools seems to have problems or closures etc quite a bit.. need a gym here too I think...

Negative experience: Turned up to use the Spa Pool after a hard day's sport only to be told you were closed between three and seven, which doesn't show up on your opening hours. Not sure where I can see the availability for your Spa Pool but I'd place a good money bet that it's sat empty right now.

Fantastic experience: Awesome choice of pools inside and fun water play outside to cool yourself down on a hot day. The family changing shower toilet room makes it a lot easier to dress my baby and I.

Negative experience: In the ten minutes I was there I thought the life guard was disrespectful didn't feel he believed me when I tried to explain how old my Gran children were an that they had a speech problem I understand there was a child that drowned but they had there uncle in the pool an aunties watching them. You don't have to follow her like she's not being watched really rude.

Positive experience: Nice clean facility. Liked that there were a number of life guards supervising the kids, but also asking parents/caregivers to stay within arms length of their under 5's. Couldn't hear the lady at the counter theough the thick glass. So she was getting frustrated with customers and vice versa. I'd like to suggest that you have a set time for bombing. Then you wouldn't have to keep telling the kids not to do 'Manu'.

Fantastic experience: A fabulous kid's birthday party venue, for kids of all ages. On a hot summer's day, when you're in the shade & the kids are running from slides to pools and back again, the adults can relax at one of the outside BBQ tables. There are quite a few shaded areas of you're early. If you book a birthday party group, you get a $6.80 rate for each child (under 15) for unlimited slides and access to the pools - and the birthday kid is free. You can bring all your own food & drinks, it's brilliant! A great place for cooler weather too, you can go inside & have all your fun there. The slides & pools are inside.
