Positive experience: Salle de sport basique au vu de ce qui se fait dans cette franchise dans ce pays. Une catastrophe pour se garer. Aucun parking et aucun endroit où se garer dans cette ville fade et sans saveur. Ça dépanne mais vous devrez payer forcément un parking

It sounds like both our club — and Wellington in general — didn’t quite hit the mark for you. Parking in the heart of the CBD is always a challenge, but many of our members use the free on-street options before 8am and after 8pm, or simply walk from nearby homes and workplaces.
As for the comparison with other clubs, there are certainly some fantastic Anytime Fitness facilities across New Zealand. That said, Kent Terrace is proud to currently hold the titles of Anytime Fitness NZ Club of the Year and Exercise NZ Facility of the Year 2024. We’re confident we deliver one of the best fitness experiences in the country, while always looking for ways to improve.

Fantastic experience: Went there as casuals for three days. We were treated like regulars and everyone was friendly. Very good equipment and free weights, ideally for people at any fitness level. Gym is six years old but most of the equipment looks much newer. Clean and user friendly. We will go there again when we are back in Wellington.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful gym! Always tidy, well placed stations, brightly lit. But the real point of difference and pleasure are the staff. Regardless of time, of state outside, of vibe. One can feel at home with the care the staff take to make you feel welcome. I’ve traveled this country many times and go to as many different Anytime Fitness gyms as I can and this one is one of my favourites. Fantastic experience: This gym is fantastic. The staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. They have top of the range free weights, for example, Ziva, and machines, for example, Life Fitness. If you’re into cardio, they also have a range of cardio machines. I highly recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: I really love this gym. I have always been greeted with friendly faces. The space is super clean, equipment is great, and the overall facilities are in great condition. I also loveeee their social media content. I’ve been keeping up with their Johnsonville opening, and their staff seem so lovely based on their profile posts - no doubt it will perform just as well as this gym. Negative experience: Not as big and doesn’t offer some key machines unlike other gyms I have visited in Wellington. Also doesn’t have a guest policy, which they gave their reasons for but I prefer to go to a gym with a guest policy. Also expensive compared to other (in my opinion, better) options. Staff are kind, in my opinion, annoyingly overbearingly kind. This gym is clearly to some people’s taste, however not mine.

• Our club is intentionally designed to avoid overcrowding and maintain a premium experience for paying members, which is why we don’t allow unrestricted guest use.
• We are a 24/7 facility with a wide range of high-quality equipment. While we may not be the largest gym in Wellington, thousands of members value the environment we’ve created — as recognised when we were named Exercise NZ’s Facility of the Year in 2024.
• Our team genuinely cares about delivering friendly service, and it’s very unusual to see “kind staff” cited as a negative when most of our members highlight this as a strength.
It’s also worth noting that this account has left similar one-star reviews for other businesses, which readers may wish to consider when interpreting the feedback.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this gym! From the moment I walked in, Jackson, Sandy, and Bianca made me feel genuinely welcome. All three were incredibly friendly, professional, and created an atmosphere that made me want to be there. It’s not always easy finding a gym where you feel comfortable and supported, but the team here nails it. The space is clean, well-equipped, and never feels overcrowded. Fantastic experience: AF Kent Terrace is a very welcoming gym for everyone! The moment you walk in, the staff are there to greet you. I had a very confusing issue with my membership, but the staff were incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond to resolve my issue. This gym is also by far one of the cleanest gyms I've ever been to. I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: From the moment you walk in you are greeted by super professional staff who go out of their way to welcome you. The gym is clean and tidy and smells great (which as we know is a real bonus). All members wipe gear down and seems like a very friendly crowd who are there for the right reasons. Positive experience: Nice gym but for one of the most expensive gyms in wellington it definitely needs an ab crunch machine, preacher bench and punch bag.

And, overall, I’m pleased you’re enjoying the membership since transferring from AF across the ditch! I agree a preacher curl would be a good addition and this is on the priority list for later in the year. The ab crunch, in my opinion, is a little outdated and the research shows there are several more effective ways to train the abs and core, although I appreciate everyone has their preferences (particularly if they’ve used that equipment in the past). A boxing bag, unfortunately, isn’t something we’re likely to add - mainly because we will prioritise other additions to the functional space which there have been more consistent demand for. Thanks again for taking the time to share your ideas, and I’d be more than happy to arrange a time for one of our fantastic personal trainers to take you through some alternative core exercises (at no charge, of course), if that’s something you’re interested in. Fantastic experience: I have been working out for over 20 years, I’ve lost count how many gyms I have been to and this is by far the best. Such an amazing facility, the equipment is in brilliant condition and the community, is supportive and inclusive. I give it an 11 out of 10. Thanks team for running such a great gym.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym! They have everything you need, the gym is very clean, everyone re-racks their weights and cleans after themselves. The showers and toilets were also really clean and the staff is very kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend going here.

Fantastic experience: I was in the area for a work trip and Clayton was super friendly, outgoing, and accommodating for me. The gym is clean and there's a fair amount of equipment and free weights. Couldn't have had a better experience!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, quite spacious and has most things that a gym should have. The staff/trainers are friendly and knowledgeable, the gym is clean and there are individual rooms to change and/or shower.

Fantastic experience: Staff is amazing! The cleanest gym ive ever been to in my whole life. All the machines are well-maintained. Havent got a single negative thing to say. If you are in welly, definitely give AF KENT TERRACE a shot. You wont regret it. The members are super friendly too. If you are an introvert, such as myself, you'll love it there. Everyone minds their own business but if you ever need a helping hand, rest assured, staff and other members are more than willing to help you out. They also occassionally leave out samples of protein, amino, vitamin powders for the members to try. Amazing deals on membership fees. The music is fire too. The toilets, changing room, and bathrooms are cleaned every 2hrs so theres always one ready for use. By far, the best gym in welly. Dare i say, the best in New Zealand! Loved my entire stay!

Fantastic experience: Great experience. I was there one day with a day pass that was relatively cheap (10$). Staff was great and the equipment was pretty good as well. Changing rooms, showers and restrooms were clean and huge. Enough machines and freeweight.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym, equipment is clean, tidy and there’s a great variety. Spacious stretch and roll out area, staff are friendly and approachable. There’s loads of space in shower area and they’re nice and clean. The global membership is awesome and I’ve been able to continue to train while away from home. 100% recommended AF Kent Terrace!

Fantastic experience: This gym is like a fine wine: it lacks some of the resources of a larger gym but makes up for it in quality. The equipment is new and functional. If hygiene is a concern, you need not worry at this gym. It is so impeccably clean, one could literally eat off the floor. You can have a changing room, toilet and shower all to yourself! In fact, Anytime Fitness Kent Terrace is more like an exclusive club than the typically noisy, dirty, smelly or over-hyped gym that most people are used to seeing. The staff are friendly and responsive; the members are mostly mature and responsible, and you can use your membership all over the world.

Fantastic experience: A gym girlie from the UK, and been traveling to different gyms throughout NZ, this gym had to be my favourite out of them all. The layout is very user friendly instantly making me comfortable, especially in the mat area so I can comfortably do RDLs without the entire gym looking at me the staff was very welcoming and I wish I could visit more often xx

Fantastic experience: Today is my last day as a member of Anytime Kent Terrace, the best gym in Wellington! (Only moving because I now work and live out of the city ☹️) Sorry I never left any reviews earlier, I didnt want anyone else joining and making the gym too busy like most other gyms Awesome facilities, clean af, and new and well looked after machines & gear. Going to miss the 430am workouts with those regulars and not looking forward to my new gym Thanks Craig and the OG Anytime Team

Fantastic experience: With Anytime Fitness Kent Terrace being open 24/7 it means you can be flexible to do what you want when you can. There is a great array of equipment, that is well maintained and kept clean, to suit all individual needs and fitness levels. The gym has a broad selection of members, from the young to the not so much young and from the fit to those looking to get a bit fitter. A good gym for anyone wanting to get a bit of exercise. The staff are friendly and helpful and have trainers who can help with guidance and for those who want it, put a program together to meet your needs. It is definitely one of the better gym setups I have used.

Fantastic experience: I have had a fantastic experience at Anytime Fitness Kent Terrace. It's spacious, bright, clean, and uncluttered, making working out truly pleasant. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff are knowledgeable and attentive. Special mention to Tim, my fitness consultant, who took the time to understand my needs and tailor specific exercises accordingly.
