Genesis Fitness Gym

Fantastic experience: I enjoy being a member of Genesis Fitness. I’m especially grateful for the way classes are organized — everything runs so smoothly and with care. A special thank you to my Pilates instructor, Noa — she is incredibly professional, intelligent, and attentive. Every session with her is focused, thoughtful, and truly brings results. I also want to acknowledge Reene, our wonderful yoga teacher. She is a deeply genuine and wise person — more than just a yoga instructor. Both Noa and Reene put their heart and soul into every class, and you can really feel it. I absolutely love their classes.

Fantastic experience: This place is great if you are just starting out at a gym. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Take advantage of the free consultations, such a nice touch to have something like this as part of the membership. The facilities are well laid out and clean. Other gym goers just mind their own business, definitely a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Overall a great place!

Positive experience: Bad bench press setup which is an iconic bodybuilding exercise. Lacking weight plates. Apart from that it's very good. Rectify that problem and I'd rate it as awesome

Fantastic experience: My partner and I enjoyed our experience at this gym. Plenty parking, easy to access, plenty of classes, although we didn’t try any. We enjoyed the gym equipment area, lots of space, and stretching area, functional space, separate male and female bathrooms and change room, towels avail to hire, vending machine for drinks at entrance. AC works well, friendly and inclusive place, staff very friendly, top service. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Great service and a very friendly and helpful team always available the second you step through the doors. Large selection of equipment which means you never have to wait around. There is a great selection of classes available as well which is great when you are looking for a creative to way to get your sweat on! But the best part would have to be the sauna and locker rooms which are always kept clean and tidy, something that you can’t seem to find at most gyms.

Negative experience: Terrible experience, I said after 1 week I had second thoughts of joining and wanted to cancel or move to their open-term membership, the young Receptionist keep palming me off, wouldn't get back to me about moving to open term or give me the Managers name. After 2 weeks I did not have a programme written up (nor is there a place to store your programme card on site) and their staff do not communicate with each other, in addition you will only see 1-2 staff in the whole place often so don't expect individual attention. They ended up charging me $150 fee to cancel in addition to the $40 joining fee, when I only used the place for 2 weeks!! The Commerce Commission specifically said any cancel fees need to be reasonable I don't consider this 'reasonable; when saying only a week after joining that I'm not happy with the service and facility. Then the Manager passive aggressively criticized my previous gym who offered a premium service and cooling -off period in their contract unlike this sham of a place. They do not cater for beginners in the exercise classes, the room is freezing like a fridge from the AC, when you go to yoga all doors are open and very noisy above boxing area and a sports field, not relaxing at all. The instructors in yoga are too busy filming themselves to get down into the class and assist with technique advise and other things you would expect where you are paying $25-$30/week for a basic membership. The sauna is always turned off too and does not heat up to the standard 80-90 degrees, are they trying to save on electricity?? and be careful you don't damage your car in all the potholes in the carpark! You need a padlock and headphones to make full use of the facilities; these are neither included in the membership nor sold at Reception. Avoid at all costs!!!

Positive experience: Good clean gym. Nice staff, and good personal trainers available. Selection of classes and times. Fitness equipment is new and well maintained. Broad selection of free weights. Plenty of free parking. Have to be pretty picky to find anything wrong.

Negative experience: 2 months ago I rated them 5 stars because I was so impressed with the staff and the whole experience. Today I'm changing it to 1 star after I questioned why my membership wasn't extended after I used their app to put my membership on hold and was charged $5 to do so. The clubs manager made it someone's else's problem and said she can't refund me. After the stress of the operation and waiting for the biopsy results the last thing I needed was to deal with this.

Negative experience: Didn't like management's attitude to me trying their showers out when looking around the gym to join.Felt un welcomed and very un professional from the owner.Lost a prospect client buddy.Also asked the trainer at the cross fit gym for a drink out of their water fountain and she told me to use the hose tap outside by the rugby field.Another reason I didn't want to sign up at Genesis fitness gym.That tight they can't even give y0u a drink of water haha.What's Auckland coming to

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this Gym and CrossFit box for over a year and has been excellent in terms of facilities, coaching and equipment. I had Daniel Groot as a PT and has really made a difference to the way I train. Definitely the best fitness facility in Auckland.

Fantastic experience: Been a member of Genesis Fitness gym since 2010 and one of the founder members of Remuera Crossfit, been coming here since it started in 2013. Learned so many new skills and got much fitter than I ever thought possible. Great place to train, great coaches and lots of fun.

Fantastic experience: A social and friendly bunch of members, an amazing top class facility with both indoor and outdoor training areas and coaches that encourage you to be the best you can be regardless of your previous fitness background.. This place is second to none!
