Olympic Gym

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym, staff are always friendly and members are always respectful. Been going here for years on and off and never had a single issue, also very cheap on student discount and all equipment is top of the line, their are a few machines that I can tell are aged but still work great.

Positive experience: Wide selection of equipment to use. Modern facilities. Showers, sauna, solarium, hairdresser. Drinks available. Posing room.

Negative experience: The owner called me at 9.30pm for a non-urgent matter! Absolute disregard for other people! The timing of the call would have been warranted if you had concerns about the client's wellbeing, not to get contact details, which you already had. And you should have been concerned about the client. I have seen the video taken covertly by another gym member, and it is clear in the video that he was upset. A wellness checkin and a warning would have been a more appropriate course of action. You say that there have been previous complaints, which I do not think is the case, as why would you not have addressed these sooner? Sadly, it seems like you are more concerned about your things than your clients, while your clients are your biggest investment.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely a fantastic gym. Would recomend Olympic Gym to everyone. From top tier equipment, clean environment, fantastic staff and ample parking. Additionally the community at Olympic is second to none—it's one of the best I've encountered.

Negative experience: Owner had a fit I threw rubber dumbbells to the rubber floor because there was no space on the rack (underarm forward push, 1m), I woundnt normally do it. Using someone's stalker footage as evidence, you can see they had heaps of dumbells so they pack all the wrong spots and start videoing for a reaction? I can see you in the video too you know? I came here for years mínus holidays and have had no problems, then this with NO WARNING whatsoever, egotistical owner who rings you up saying how much money hes invested. It can be a hard time parking in the lines at night esp wet days as they are pretty much gone. If only they cared about the carpark as much their equipment, total neglect. You come and pay for the membership and they dont put it on, next time I come in I have to pull out my laptop to show the transaction to the other staff or they wont let me in. Happened multiple times.

Positive experience: Been going for about a year now, great facilities, decently priced memberships and heaps of parking spaces. Some of the staff don’t seem very friendly to me however. I don’t know if this is the gym for me anymore.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, so spacious and calm. No bright colours or screens. Plenty of space and heaps of machines and gear. Possibly the best free weights selection I’ve seen in the dunedin area. Huge spin room very covid friendly with loads of space between bikes. So well set up.
