Fantastic experience: Re Molly from Anytime Fitness Central. I just wanted to highlight this particular staff member. I can’t go into the issue as it’s of a sensitive nature but in short, Molly handled my query with respect, care and compassion. I was blown away by not only her efficiency but also her understanding and commitment to making me feel safe and seen. Molly you are an ASSET to Anytime Fitness. Forever Grateful ❤️

Negative experience: Locked Out Deliberately – Disappointing Corporate Support While my negative experience occurred at the Church Corner branch (Christchurch), I’m leaving this review here to raise awareness about broader concerns with Anytime Fitness New Zealand’s corporate management and complaint handling. In September 2024, I requested a temporary membership suspension (17 September – 1 October). Despite multiple polite emails and visits, my membership remained inactive even after the suspension period ended. I was locked out of the gym, and my request for a refund was declined — even though I could not access the facilities I had paid for. On 14 October, before visiting Church Corner, I went to another Anytime Fitness club, where the manager and staff checked my membership status and confirmed that it was still inactive in their system. When I visited the Church Corner branch in person to resolve the issue, the manager yelled at me aggressively and called the police. It was only after the police arrived that my access was instantly restored, without any repair or replacement of my key fob. The manager had deliberately kept my access deactivated and only restored it in the presence of the police. The police directly witnessed this sudden reactivation. Photos and videos are provided as evidence of how members can be treated under Anytime Fitness NZ’s management. Prospective members should be aware: if serious issues occur, you may find corporate support disappointing.

Negative experience: the trainer/consoltation room in the middle of the gym ruins the amount of space at this gym, makes the gym cramped, the building the gym is in is big but the gym is small, not utilising the space well enough

Negative experience: Really disappointed particularly with this Gym… they always keep music too loud… even after request to turn it down a bit… Everyone has their own EarPods… can’t hear our own music. Hopefully they’ll work on it

Negative experience: Quite a small gym. It has redundant gear and it lacks a few essential ones (hips abd and add for instance). It's a bad gym and as expensive or even more than the good ones. I don't recommend you ever get a membership with Anytime Fitness. Don't make the same mistake I made. My contract is already over, but they are basically using a loophole that I would bet serious money it's illegal. They require of you a 14-days notice for cancellation even if the contract is over. No way the law is so ridiculous in NZ as to allow such an aberration. What is that: a contract for life? And what do they need 14 days for? This is outrageous. I won't go ever again to an Anytime Fitness in my life.

Fantastic experience: Anytime fitness have the friendliest staff who assist me with any queries while also having a huge range of modern exercise machines, seperate yoga rooms with tvs to display exercise tutorial videos and most recently the addition of new massage guns and vibration balls for members to use freely inside the gym. Gym is always super duper clean and well presented. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: Pretty decent Anytime. Not the nicest I’ve been too. Doesn’t have back extension machine that I like but had almost everything you need. Have definitely visited nicer Anytime’s.

Fantastic experience: 1st time using Hamilton Central ATF. I like the layout of this facility. It is sectioned off into its own areas. The bathroom/washrooms are spacious like the other 3 gyms. They have massage machines here for use, and they are amazing. You need your key fob to open the arms at the entrance. I give a 5/5 for this gym also. ATF facilities in Hamilton and Gisborne are of top quality. Each have their own uniqueness.

Fantastic experience: I've been a AF member for around a year now. I'm pleased to say I'm better off for it lol wish I joined earlier. The staff are friendly always saying hi to me when I come in and bye when I leave and theres plenty of equipment to satisfy your needs happy days

Fantastic experience: Lots of members parking ! Lovely staff and private showers are always so clean. Any broken machine is fixed in a timely manner and has everything so accessible. Love this place

Negative experience: Really really annoying customer service. I signed up for a 7 day trial back in June 2022, but I decided not to go ahead for the 7 day trial. After that, they were calling me every single week and also sent me emails to join the memberships. I told them that I am not interested to join either the trial or the memberships so I have asked them to remove my details from the system. However, they still keep ringing me until now. They also sent marketing messages and emails which I never subscribed for any marketing products etc. Definitely I will not recommending this place to anyone

Positive experience: Very friendly staff/other gym goers. Was visiting too from Perth and my membership worked fine there without a problem. Rating due to only 2 squat racks if I recall properly.
