Fantastic experience: I have had the privilege of being a member of Wai Weight gym for a number of years on and off. The people that use the gym, even tho I dont know many of them, are always kind and courteous. The gym itself is awesome with a great selection of machines and free weights. The owner, Bevan, instantly makes you feel welcome and a part of the Wai Weight whanau. Bev is always there to help. Bev, if needed, will help you make a personalized training program. I feel comfortable in the Wai Weight environment while I'm working out, and grateful to Bev for providing a space to grow.

It's been over 12 yrs since I was living in Masterton and wai w8 was my first ever gym. and now after trying a few other gyms, yours was definitely by far the best. The equipment was always kept functional and up to date, everywhere was clean and tidy and everyone was respectful. Not to mention how great it was to have you come and help out, and offer tips/advice when I really had no idea what I was doing. The gym I'm at now just pales in comparison. It made me realize how much I miss wai w8 and really I was very lucky to have the best gym as my first!!

Fantastic experience: I recently joined Wai Weight Gym in Masterton at the beginning of July, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the experience so far. This private gym offers a welcoming, down-to-earth, and motivating environment, filled with people working toward their own fitness and mental goals. As a beginner, one of the things I appreciated most was the support I received from Bevan (correct me if I spelt that wrong sorry!) , who helped put together a full-body workout plan tailored to my goals. Having a structured routine in place from day one made a huge difference—it gave me confidence and direction every time I walked into the gym. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has avoided the gym at some point simply because they didn’t know where to start, but Bevan’s guidance made sure that wasn’t a barrier for me. The gym’s location is also super convenient—being close to my workplace means I’ve stayed consistent and motivated. And while it may be a smaller gym in size, it’s impressively well-equipped with a wide range of gear suited to all training styles and fitness levels. I highly recommend Wai Weight Gym to anyone and everyone—whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned gym-goer. It’s a great place to learn, grow, and be part of a supportive community. Had a lot of good memories over the years here working out with mates, and its always cool to have a chat with Bevin (the owner) when he comes in. Easily worth the commute from Carterton, feels like home.

Fantastic experience: I use to live in the area nearby Wai Weights and so I use to workout here. It was cheaper than the other gyms in Masterton and I didn’t have to lock myself into a contract with them like the bigger branded gyms. Bevan, the Owner is a local and was a body builder and you can see the passion he has for the sport by looking around the gym. I love the quotes and photos! Very inspiring! He’s helpful with tips for workouts while injured and easy to chat with. After moving across town, I started at another gym and I didn’t like it, it was too busy, and it cost me more and so I went back to Wai Weights for the atmosphere and people seem really lovely here. It’s a small gym but, I like it!

Bev has built an amazing community and goes above and beyond to make each member feel welcome. Good size gym with a great variety of free weights, machines and cardio equipment. Will definitely be returning if I'm in the area again!

Fantastic experience: An excellent gym that has it all. Bev the owner and the members are so welcoming, motivating, yet honours your personal space to work out. The vast range of equipment alone can make anyone excited to exercise, housing the perfect mix of free weights and machines, and a good choice of cardio machines at the front. The gym is well laid out, efficiently ventilated and clean, it is very rare to come across a gym that ticks all the boxes and I cannot rave about this one enough. A true gem in Masterton!

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym, where you get made to feel like one of the family, rather than just a member. Heaps of good equipment, along with all the extras! This is the first gym I've been to that actually has micro-plates of less than 1kg.

Fantastic experience: Compared to commercial gym its quite small but efficient use of space. Squat racks, cable machines, cardio machines everything you need to train plus the extras. Quality brands i.e eleiko barbells etc. Clean and tidy, everybody's friendly, didn't see any egos, was never crowded. Highly recommended 6stars

Fantastic experience: The best gym I've trained in in NZ, if not the world. The quantity of weight plates, bars and the weight range of dumbells means this is a gym for your average Joe, weightlifter, bodybuilder and powerlifter. The mix of cardio, weight machine and free weight equipment means a broad range of workouts can be achieved, and with the outstanding support and knowledge of the owner, the goals that are set can be achieved. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming and the clientele and decor is inspiring. I can't rate this gym highly enough.
