Negative experience: Absolutely terrible experience, staff are all up themselves and act as if they are better than everyone especially the orange hair worker “Matthew”; He was insanely disrespectful to my 6 year old son when we was asking about the hydro slide by putting him down about his spider man togs (which were his favourite but now no longer wants to wear because of this experience) after I was informed of this we left after 5 minutes of being there.

Fantastic experience: Me and my 2 yo son went for a swim and it was free for both of us!! Little swimmers cost 3$ lovely staff Awesome pool there's a lazy river too

Negative experience: So cold! We struggled through an hour in the main leisure pools and had to go home as our family got cold. Even 15 min in the spa didn’t warm me up much. This has always been the case at the Lido in winter in my experience. Compared to a recent trip to Queenstown where the leisure pool was beautiful and warm, we stayed much longer.

Positive experience: Please get a coffee shop or cart for us poor caffeine deprived parents!

Negative experience: Last few times we’ve visited (including today) the water in the indoor pools is SO cold- why?? State of the changing rooms is disgusting.

Fantastic experience: My kids love it here and for $38 for 2 kids for access to all slides and unlimited hours you can't beat it. Life guards are awesome. Nice atmosphere. Yum nice iced mocha at the cafe Changing rooms well they need a cleaner in their my kids won't get changed in the family change room and my son won't go into the men's change room so he gets changed at home. Overall we really enjoy it here.

Positive experience: Stop off on a long journey home from a holiday. We were there on a rainy day, so the inside pool was busy. $20 family ticket + extra for our son to use the indoor slides. The floors and changing rooms were dirty with lots of food and bits on the floor throughout the facility. Lots of pools to choose from. Kids not allowed in the spa/hot pool. Our son enjoyed the indoor slides, although a strange system with kids having to wait at the bottom to see the person before them come out before they ran up to go down the slide. Great outdoor diving board pool with 3 different heights (1 out of order). Kids liked the outdoor water play area with 3 slides, another outdoor pool with a very fast twin slide and the lazy river. The outdoor pools were not clean - lots of dirt and leaves on the floor of the water park and lots of leaves on the bottom of the outdoor little pool. The 2 other big outdoor slides looked quite extreme! $3 for a large locker.

Positive experience: Traveled from Napier for the day. Great value for money. Kids loved the outdoor slides and didn't have to wait long for a turn. Facility was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly.

Positive experience: Great place for family hang out, suite well for hot day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Long queue for slides. A bit expensive for the slides. Not recommended to go to indoor hydro slides. Really dark inside, banging the head a few times. If you scare of dark and narrow space. Don't recommend it. We went once and like not for me. Not just me felt that, a few ppl. It is weird to see people went to the Pool in jeans, Pyjama, random clothes. I wish they gave rules about swimming togs only. T shirt on top togs is acceptable but jeans and PJ is weird. And not hygiene. Lots of kids were unwell at lot of runny nose. Parents just used water in the pool to clean there face. I saw a trodler full of poo in nappies go into the pool. Staff saw them just ignore. If this happens in Dunedin Moana Pool. They would have been told off. Lots of kids were unsupervised in the pool. We had been in the pool in different town - they were more strict in these rules. When the kids without supervision by their parents. The lifeguard would tell them to get out. Changing room was pretty dirty. Probably need more stuff cleaning regularly. Public areas were not clean. Lots of rubbish around. Probably not enough staff to clean. But they have free cold water available for guests. Really like that. Plenty of parks. If you are not too stressed about some health and safety and hygienic issue. It is a very great place to go on hot day. (water is warm! So good).

Positive experience: I wish the receptionist staff's attitude could have been nicer. I was confused with the pricing for the kids' supervisor. Two adults and two kids, four of us went there on boxing day 2024. The receptionist had no greetings to us. Only asked me "Will you jump in the water with the seven year old?" Yes. "Then you need to pay." I said I will check your website. She didn't give me time to check, but repeated several times "Will you also jump in the water?" "You need to pay." Until I figured out from the website how it worked and paid for it. The message could have been delivered in a much nicer and friendly way. I wish.

Negative experience: This water park has the potential to be a great place, but unfortunately, the behaviour of a large portion of the visitors ruins the experience. While the facilities themselves are decent, many people were queue jumping and showed little consideration for others, which made the atmosphere quite unpleasant. Littering was also a big issue—trash was scattered everywhere, and I ended up injuring my foot because of debris on the ground. To make matters worse, my slippers were stolen, which was incredibly frustrating. It’s a shame because this place could be enjoyable if better measures were in place to maintain order and cleanliness. I hope the management addresses these problems soon. Until then, I can’t recommend visiting.

Negative experience: Would NOT recommend the holiday programme for kids under 8yo!! Today a young boy was found sobbing, holding his face in the courner of the baby pool after some time being in there un noticed by staff or his carers for programme. 1.5hours ish on camera he was on his own for in the Lido while staff from holiday programme didn't notice he was missing. Police was called but stood down as 1 worker walked past recognised him asking what he doing This is apaulling behaviour, disgrace on supervision. Makes it worse he was back to the pool soon after getting returned to holiday room swinging on the baby pool poles!!!!!!!! Life guards amazing but holiday programme staff need a shake up!!!! Hope his mum finds other care as he clearly not watched there and not a hard kid to. 1 star for life guards helping but zero for programme

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed the service from the young man on Friday night. Very helpful and offered great advice when selecting new togs. Even recommend an outstanding flavour of ice cream! Great guy

Positive experience: Usually a great place to get some laps in for working out and take some time relaxing in the spa. Be sure to ask if there are lanes booked for clubs, because it can get busy when they are on. :) The people are friendly there too.

Positive experience: It is good and has lots of different facilities like a swim lesson pool, a sauna, a steam room, and an indoor hydro-slide. There are also more different water slides outside that are not open during winter. All in all it's pretty good but entry is slightly expensive at $7 just to use the pools and spa pool. I do recommend for some good family fun though especially during summer.

Everytime I have visited the pools for my weekly spa lately, they have been disgusting. From finding plasters and other large floating items while trying to relax, to the visible ring of dirt around the top, to the awful smell of dead ants (and the not so occasional live one), and as if this wasn't bad enough, they just increased the price by almost $1 for opportunity to sit in the filth!!!! I could understand the price increase of their standards were what they used to be, but I don't understand taking away the option of cheaper entry for community services card holders!!!! Please up your game guys and stop exploiting the fact you are the only spa open to the public for miles.

Fantastic experience: It's very nice, since it's winter now, the water in the pool is warm and it's very fun and you can go with your whole family or even have birthday celebration there.

Negative experience: 3 kids in the toddler pool and 1 lifeguard obviously in LaLa land watching while a 3 year old is clearly drowning, when I asked him why he didn't do anything about it, his answer was "sometimes they pop up later and he has to wait, oh and I saw you running over towards the end" ...absolutely mind blown! What's the point in a back up lifeguard if he waits for the person to stop moving. Won't be back here and I'll be making an official complaint. Very disappointed

Negative experience: There is a serious hygiene issue at your swimming center's shower facilities. During my recent visit, I noticed worms in the shower area, which is unacceptable and poses health risks. Please take immediate action to clean and disinfect the area thoroughly. Your prompt attention to this matter is crucial for the safety and satisfaction of your customers.

Negative experience: Visiting area and unable to book a class to ensure place without becoming member!!!!! Not friendly system. This means that both the Lido & myself loose. Lido misses potential income from visitors / casuals. My family are now looking elsewhere for our exercise.

Positive experience: Nice place to go for a swim but was most disappointed that there were swimmers wearing cotton shirts when they weren’t allowed according to their rules and I bought a $95 swimsuit for my granddaughter because all she had was a cotton shirt.

Negative experience: Worst day ever. Paid for all 4 slides but 2 were not operating. 1 operating inside had no permanent lifeguard so everyone had to wait longer. Not enough staff. Overcrowded and in desperate need of a face-lift. Won't be going back

Negative experience: Couple of years ago when I went here a kid pooped in the pool, I told the lifeguard and he openly mocked me and didn't believe me until at least 10 other people told him. Today I reluctantly went again for a shower since the water at my home is currently broken. The two people at the counter seemed to be half asleep or not entirely there and couldn't understand that I was just asking to shower, and when I went into the womens showers (which were filthy and reeked of oranges for some reason), the cubicals with doors had no room to place my things, and so I reluctantly took my shower in one of the two larger cubicals in the center of the room with no doors. I lost count of how many people just stared at my body, including CHILDREN, leaving me feeling incredibly violated. Some of them were also eyeing my belongings. As I left, I noticed a promotional poster they had for some after school thing for kids was AI generated. The fact they didn't even have enough money to buy a stock image or a cheap illustration and would instead opt to get a machine to steal and mishmash the hard work of dozens of real artists really speaks volumes. Just go to the Levin Aquatic Centre.

Fantastic experience: Great to come here for relaxing with warm water, it’s also suitable for kid’s birthday party

Fantastic experience: Took the grand kids here and everyone had an amazing time. Several BBQs available for use filling the air with yummy smells. Next time will take a BBQ lunch. They were all fired up with people enjoying the day. Big trees for shade. Swimming pools, diving pools, lap pools, spa pools, sauna, hydro slides x4, splash pad. Absolutely something for everyone.

Positive experience: Nice pools, indoor and out. Good slides. Good seating and picnic areas. Life guards everywhere. Only gripe is with life guards not dealing with kids running round the pools and jumping into the pools way too close to smaller kids, many of whom were wearing floaties.

Positive experience: My favorite slides would be the toilet bowl and hydro slide but if you go down the hydro slides a lot it can hurt your head. The Toilet Bowl it very fun and it's worth going up all those stairs

Positive experience: So much fun, not too expensive, the lifeguards were alert and doing their job, it was not overcrowded, there are plenty of things to do for all ages!

Positive experience: Heaps to choose from here, indoor pools, outdoor pools, indoor/outdoor slides, changing rooms, showers, gym, sauna, bbq equipment and things to cater for the kids and kids at heart! Summer would be the best time here due to the massive outdoor activities.

Fantastic experience: Best steamroom in NZ.... Perfect size, heaps of steam at a regular rate, neat people VOTE OUT JACINDA ADERN or these steamrooms will be a thing of the past in our 3RD WORLD COUNTY

Negative experience: Cost vs fun.... nothing much. They also allowed the abuse of the disability parks when we mentioned to staff there were 2 being used with no permits they did not care. Won't bother returning

Fantastic experience: I thoroughly enjoyed swimming for the first time in a long time and even got to have a relaxing spa . The lifesavers there are always keeping a good eye out, so if you have any problems or questions there's always someone who can help.

Negative experience: Pools are too cold even the toddler pool was Luke warm. Spa pool was the only warm enjoyable pool but unfortunately everyone under 16 just had to freeze. Come on Palmie turn the temperature upyoure making our kids sick.

Positive experience: Needs an update as the appearance is bit rugged roofs , toilets , floorings of the pools . Nice and warm small pools , more cleaning as floating hair ties and plasters.

Negative experience: Enjoy the fact that you have access to the pools and other water-based facilities. However, the gym is lacking space hence why I prefer to come after hours so you’re not waiting long for equipment. Unfortunately, I have recently noticed the lack of care / poor quality / maintenance in certain equipment. I would post a photo here if I knew how of the yoga mat I used. I decided to use it for my sit ups etc as there was only one mat available, I couldn’t finish my sets because I was having a reaction to the holes in the mat and overall state of the mate itself (dirty). Other nights there would be a few mats but recently theres only one mat left out for after hours??? While the gym offers your typical gym equipment but it’s definitely not “state of the art” as it claims to be. I’ll probably starting looking elsewhere which is a shame cs staff are pretty cool.

Positive experience: The Lido in Palmy has always been a place parents take their kids to in the summertime. The trainers and lifeguards are always lovely and kind to talk, and will help you with anything-- but the entire facility smells of urine and the changing rooms are mossy, uncomfortable, and unsafe to drop clothing in. If they update the toilets and changing rooms and maybe added more effort into cleaning the pools then I'd consider changing my opinion.

Fantastic experience: I needed to start pool exercise after a serious car rollover 4 months ago. A Lido staff member, Juliana, who was warm, friendly, polite and very helpful, supported me in buying a swimsuit goggles, cap, and a pass. I was also given info on Lido hours and class times, which was most helpful. It's worth noting that there was an extensive selection and high-quality swim related items to choose from in the shop. On another day, my physio met up with me at the Lido, at a quieter time, and I did warm-up walks followed by exercises in a pool near the spa. The pool was the perfect temperature and clean. I followed up with a hot spa with jets that soothed my muscles and other parts of my body that are still mending. Changing rooms were clean and tidy. Thank you, Lido. I will be back. I have been back and Juliana pops up at the front desk, asking how my speedo swimsuit, that she sold me, is going, and how am I doing. Thanks Juliana you have been such a positive influence from my first day at the Lido and in my wanting to continue on this healing journey.

Positive experience: Great swimming pools for the kids and adults. Though it was winter, there is still an indoor hydro slide to use too, and it was great. Staff are awesome too. The only issues we had was the amount of chlorine fumes in the hydroslide area, and the costs for additional things like swim rings. I also did not like the idea of using vending machines for snacks because the Cafe won't open till midday. But overall, it was a great experience and most importantly the kids had a lot of fun. Will definitely be back in the summertime.

Positive experience: The Lido Aquatic Centre is a big facility with lots of different pools and water activities available. It has both indoor and outdoor (only available in Summer). The prices were reasonable and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately my kids found the temperature of the main leisure pool was too cold, so they didn't enjoy this facility as much as msny others we have visited. Also the lack of available lockers and places to put your bags etc was a draw back. Might visit again in Summer when things are warmer.

Positive experience: Nice Pool complex with plenty of options. Pools and changing rooms were Very clean and not too busy on the Saturday afternoon/evening. Down side was coldish showers. Spa not terribly hot sadly and overall the pools were a bit cold but clean. The hydroslides were not working during our visit unfortunately. But recommend the sauna, it was wonderful for an aching body after a sports event as the Ice bath wasn't usable. The steam room was a bit too hot.

Positive experience: We visited it during winter so we have been to the indoor swimming pool only. It's a nice place with good utilities like changing rooms, sunna and steam room. The staff is really nice. We got tickets for the hydro slides but it was freaking dark and the kids were frightened to do it. The staff at the reception were kind enough to refund us.

Fantastic experience: We attended both baby and preschool swimming lessons for our toddler. Needless to say, he loves his swimming lessons and his training instructor. He has developed love for water and swimming, he waits all week for his swimming lessons. We gradually increased the lessons to 2 per week seeing how much he loves this place. The swimming teachers are all lovely and very efficient. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Went on summer with the kids. Outdoor play area was great. Good grass areas. Hot chips and coffee for sale. Good showers afterwards. Pool water was warm. Indoor area had a never ending river with music playing. Saw you could have a birthday party there with a bbq. Got spas for adults. Two saunas and cold shower. Two lane pools for swimming.
