Splash Centre

Positive experience: We enjoyed spending a couple of hours at the splash centre today. They have a number of pools to choose from including a sauna and a steam room. It Is well set out, the lifeguards are ever present and helpful and overall it is well worth going.

Fantastic experience: The staff were lovely and the hydro slide was free today, which the kids loved. Prices have gone up since I was last there though so this likely was the only time we can go for a while unfortunately.

Negative experience: The pools are nice, but the showers at the women's section were freezing cold. We told reception, and they could only tell us the hot water goes to the men's first, and that they might be using it all. They need to find a solution, as it was genuinely impossible to shower in that water.

Fantastic experience: Great facility, pools just been cleaned and painted, really great staff, perfect for the community. Includes a decent pool, kids pools, slide, spa, sauna, Hydrotherapy pool and even a gym its got it all.

Fantastic experience: I love it at Splash Centre i went there for the NZ Masters Games swimming competition back in 2023 all the pools are nice and warm i even enjoy the Hydroslides i like how they are Black and Orange like Mitre 10 lovely complex i will definetly come again when i next go to Wanganui

Negative experience: Disappointed, changing rooms dirty & manky smelly, everything needs a good clean, wont be going there again!! Spa with no jets, limited seating & again needs a good clean, like sitting in a cow trough...yuk!!!!

Positive experience: Great pools and good price for a one-time visit (5,50$) The sauna and steamroom smelled a bit like mold though. Also there was an event, so we could not use the main pool. We would have appreciated it if this was mentioned on the website.

Negative experience: If you don't have a partner that can queue up at 6.30am to get a reasonable spot in the swim lessons then there is little hope. When they are finally in a class, some instructors and including the manager hinder the kids' progression. Many cannot offer appropriate corrections that truly improve their technique, then instructors just assume the child hasn't improved. I have lived in many cities, my kids have never been so held back. I haven't met managers on as much of a power trip either. The cimmu ity needs more and deserves better!

Fantastic experience: Kids loved it. Life guards meant i didn't have to get in. As many turns as they eanted on the hydro slide. All at a reasonable price.

Positive experience: Great value, spent a couple of hours swimming and using the fitness centre. Nice selection of pool's. I mainly went to make use of the rowing equipment in the fitness centre, they had a large number of Concept 2 rowing machines, however disappointed that they were poorly maintained with monitor's not working properly needing replacement batteries and a firmware update. I finally managed to get the Ergdata app connected to one of them which allowed me to control the monitor. The flywheels also need cleaning, even set at a max of 20 the drag factor only made it to 120.

Negative experience: What a horrendous experience, the only thing that they exceeded at was defeating my already low expectations. Arrived at 6:25 Spoke to the lady on the front counter and she said to us you're aware it's 6:30 right and we close at 7. We said yes we know, followed by her saying if we don't leave by closing time we will be "KICKED" out. Typical Karen tone too. Apart from that the pools were great.

Negative experience: Trying to organise swimming lessons for the kids at the splash centre is like pulling hens teeth. The lady was extremely rude and unhelpful. What a horrible experience!!! No wait lists, no info on enrolment dates, terms, fees, no info other than try again later. This person should not be employed if she’s not going to even try to do the basics of her job.

Negative experience: Old, dirty and not very clean. The jets in the heated pools don't work. No inflatables, balls. Half of it closed for maintenance in easter holidays. Should have done maintenance in the winter holidays as per most pools. No hydroslides open. Not advertised on the website.

Fantastic experience: Had a really good time at the Splash this morning.‍♀️‍♀️ Regardless of being in Level2 the Splash are accommodating for Punters with social distancing measures and easy sign in/sanitising station at the entrance/front desk aswell as easy peasy book online requirements. Was really good as my toddler has been stuck inside way too long Really recommended checking it out online and booking in to support the team and also take advantage of the facilities while its quiet!! **Showers, steam room and sauna closed at L2 - Understandably! Love seeing the familiar smiley face at the service desk.. must learn her name!! Thanks Splash Centre

Positive experience: Good venue and facilities. Generally the rooms are all clean but you get some people ruining it for the venue still of course.

Positive experience: Great pools, poor changing areas and dismal communication regarding hydroslide (which was actually pretty good for kids).

Negative experience: You've got the lane pool around the corner away from the other pools for adults properly swimming lanes and three small pools. Two under 1 metre deep and one for toddlers. Where does a group of 15 year olds swim?

Positive experience: Slides are not for the weak! Would be a great place for families of the lifeguards weren't all 15yo and gossiping and laughing about the larger women swimming with her child, or the people with tattoos. Clearly, twice we caught the female life guards as well as the male life guards having a laugh at the expense of others. Unbelievable. Very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Lots of fun. Great younger kids can go on the hydroslide with a parent and the minimum age to go by yourself is just 5yrs old. Lots of fun for the family with the slides and the 'river' and toddlers beach area.

Fantastic experience: A family pass for 4 members is $20 & you can stay there for hours. There are spas, sauna, water slides, lazy river & shallow pools for little ones.

Fantastic experience: Splash is great for all ages. The facilities are clean, wheelchair friendly, plenty of lifeguards on hand. There's a therapy pool, which I love, and is great for ty sore body. There's a spa, steam room and a gym. A good size warm baby pool, hydra-slides, and a lazy river pool, and more. You can grab a coffee, a bite to eat, and there's eftpos available.

Fantastic experience: I go to the therapy pool which is heated. There are a mulitude of things to do - gym upstairs, spa pool, sauna, children's pools, learner pool, hydroslide, full length pool to swim, walk lengths in, small cafe. Very very reasonably priced and no time restrictions on staying in the complex. Clean and well maintained. Nice shower's, staff on hand to help with anything.
