Ping at reception gave me great guidance, and May went above and beyond to really understand my needs. Her detailed assessment and clear instructions truly impressed me — as a former physical education teacher, I could see her professionalism and care. I’m excited to focus on my health again with their amazing support!

Negative experience: Ridiculous they don’t have medical staff on sight to approve a simple medical form! I was told they would in later on in the day! Totally wasted my time and travel this morning

The swim sessions are fantastic, with skilled and patient instructors who helped my daughter learn to swim confidently. The pool is well-maintained and family-friendly, making it the perfect spot for swimmers of all ages

Fantastic experience: Great friendly staff and fun pool!

Positive experience: The swimming pool is 25 m long, and there is another poll for diving that is 4 metres deep. There is also a small pool for babies, and a spa pool. The female changing rooms are good, no lockers inside. You will find lockers outside on the family changing area. The leisure centre has a gym and there is also a cafe. Plenty of parking available.

Fantastic experience: Pretty good place to swim at however it does get a bit cold sometimes especially in winter. Usually in holidays the fun lane at daytime does get quite a lot of people going there. They have really nice staff there and are very helpful. The elevator which is outside the doors below the stairs to the left sometimes does take a while for it to come down and open sometimes. Its pretty nice since most of the time in the mornings all the other lanes do not have much people swimming there so theres usually plenty of lanes.

Fantastic experience: Glenfield Pool is an awesome place to chill and have fun. The sauna and steam room are super relaxing - just what you need after a long day. For the kids, there's heaps to do: a cool waterslide and even a diving platform they’ll love. The whole place feels friendly and clean, and it's a great spot whether you're coming with the family or just want some quiet time to unwind.

Positive experience: It has a good gym facility, just wish I could use the benefits of the pool more with my son (toddler), but the main pool is way to cold and toddler pool get at capacity pretty fast.Other leisure centers we've been to the main pools have been a comfortable temperature where you can actually enjoy it and not feel like your swimming outside.Would be nice if they had some activities in the kids pool not just a small rectangle.

Negative experience: Stuff at the front desk are rude. When I asked them if I could go get a drink and come back they said sure. Once we came back they saw us come back in and continued talking so when we walked to the gates to go back in it didn’t open. There were about 5-6 people just standing there talking. I turned around and the lady said you have to come talk to us and say your back the gates don’t just magically open. Well I’m sorry but you all were busy talking and not doing any work. You saw me come in, all of you were looking at the doors and at lest I don’t have a smart ass mouth. She should not be around people let alone kids. Not happy with the leavel of customer service.

Fantastic experience: Hats off to the pool staff - they dealt with a serious incident today phenomenally well. Awesome mahi! Facilities clean and plenty of changing rooms, showers etc. As for the hydroslides, if you’re not an adrenaline junkie then avoid the right-hand slide and stick to the left.

Fantastic experience: Gym trainer Paul was very professional in teaching me how to use gym equipment correctly. I could have otherwise injured my 67 year old body.

Negative experience: I only go to the Glenfield leisure centre for the steam room to help me with my breathing the hot steam helps me to breath easier .it's consecutively closed two weeks at a time not good enough for the money we pay I've also called up twice in a row and asked if the steam room was open so I don't waste my time and money going there and twice their staff have told me the steam room open and I get there and it's closed you can understand how frustrating this would be after already waiting two weeks for it to be open. they need to do better or people need to stop whinging about how hot it is because it's a steam room if it's too hot for you use the sauna. Stop being a bunch of Karen's you're affecting people's health

Negative experience: Worst experience today. The pools were apparently FULL had to wait 30 min to go in.. I understand it could be full but i dont understand why the members who paid for the membership need to wait?! We paid for membership because we can get the priority and go in to swim when we want... (FYI it wasnt as full) ALSO i dont even know why glenfield would hire Lifeguards, the life guards there just talk amongst them self and doesnt care bout what is happening in the pool... this place needs a check up on ... literally

Positive experience: It's quite astonishing to see reviews where parents complain about their kids being told off by lifeguards. It's a public place with set rules for their safety, and your undisciplined child needs to abide by them. A lot of parents don't bother to control their kids, allowing them to leave the fun lane, encroach into the regular swimming lanes, and disrupt the flow of other swimmers. I do agree with some other reviews that too many classes are being held, making it difficult for regular adult swimmers to find enough space. However, that's just how it is. The learn-to-swim class schedules are available on the website, so we can try to avoid the busiest times. One suggestion I have is regarding the mold in the showers. Sometimes it's so bad that it seems like a potential health and safety issue. More frequent cleaning is recommended for the shower facilities. Overall, the place is managed reasonably well for the price and its convenient location.

Positive experience: The only positive aspect is the sauna. The pool is consistently overcrowded and dirty, with only two lanes available for public swimming. The steam room is excessively hot, making it unbearable to stay.

Negative experience: I would rate it a lot higher if the swimming facilities were actually usable. Every time i come at least half the lanes are shut for swimming classes for kids. I can understand that perfectly okay as they have to go somewhere, but surely there needs to be a better system for the public to be able to use swimming lanes. Downgraded as coming at 6am is a complete waste of time. Most of the lanes are booked out so two lanes left for everyone else with 4-5 people in a lane. Wtf am I paying a membership for when I can't use it? I've talked to staff, dropped a feedback form and yet no one does anything or gets back to you on how they will improve services. Such an entitled, arrogant attitude auckland council has.

Positive experience: The pool facility is good, clean and well maintained, however, there is clearly a staffing issue, not a good experience at the counter, priority given to membership application which takes a longer time compared to casual customer that just wanted to take their kids to the pool.

Negative experience: Quite sad with cleanliness and overall facilities. The pools floor and changing room could use with ongoing sanitising. Spa was lukewarm, pools like an ice bath, and sauna very mild. Was looking forward to many visits as this is my new local centre and felt the whole experience was lucklustre.

Positive experience: The swimming facility isn't very large, but it has a big pool, a small pool, a hot spring pool, and a sauna. There is a café outside. Parking at the entrance can be tight, but you can park in the mall nearby. One advantage is that adults who are just supervising their children can enter for free. As a result, many swim schools hold their classes here.

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym, great group fitness classes, especially body combat & LM dance. Instructors are amazing, they put a lot of effort in teaching & making the classes more energetic & fun. Shout out to all the amazing instructors at Glenfield leisure centre. Massive special shout out to Angela, Gi, Rochelle, Gerald, Rebecca & and Sherwin, who go the extra mile to make each & every class fun & enjoyable. Highly recommend this gym & group fitness classes. 5 stars

Negative experience: At the gym and in group fitness classes, the staff let women exercise in just a tiny sports bra with everything popping out but deny men the same freedom to exercise shirtless. The male staff member I spoke to about this could not provide a good explanation for their double standard. It seemed as if he just enjoys looking at scantily clad women but feels jealous when he sees a fit man shirtless. Do men have to start wearing sports bras to bare as much skin as women?

Positive experience: We like going there for the water polo games. The pool is OK, sometimes a bit crowded. The spa pool looks more crowded most times we are there and not very appealing. But the gym and the rest of the centre looks well looked after, and the cafe is good.

Positive experience: More variety of group classes. Cafe there is very nice. The pools are ok but not so large as Lloyd Elsmore Park. Bigger gym, only if they upgrade their bike machines, then they will be perfect. Oh it is very hard to find parking during peak hours. I have to park inside the mall for most of the times

Fantastic experience: I go here 2x a week to swim lengths for my fitness. I go early in the morning and love being greeted by the ever-efficient, smiley and wonderful Ping. She remembers our names amidst the hundreds of people who use the facility.

Negative experience: I swim here 5x a week for my health & fitness and continually grow more and more shocked as to how staff claim they are professional and do no wrong. Back story - 1 year ago I signed up to Albany Leisure as they are closest to where I live, I requested some weeks later than they change the day my payments came out as I had started a new job and had a change in pay weeks and days. They failed to do this, resulting in me not be aware that they had sent me to BayCorp. I spoke to BC, and cleared the issue with them that it was okay for me to pay the leisure center directly and I confirmed with them that I could do this with Glenfield as I had moved to them seeing as it's on my way home. I proceeded to explain to the reception staff the scenario, and handed them the cash of the overdue amount - they appeared to process this and I went on my way. 1 week later, I went to sign up for a new membership, paid the joining fee and first 2x weeks membership; only to have the 'Team Leader' Emily, email me saying that because I had a overdue account, they were terminating my membership and that I would have to pay the overdue amount. She has continuously brushed off the fact that I have given them $96 and claim they have no track of this and then proceeded to refuse to refund me my joining fee, and 2x membership weeks.. Could someone explain why they think this is okay? Not only that, but the amount of times I have gone to swim (checking online for the lane availability ahead of time) only to be yelled at by a lifeguard that I was in the wrong lane due to a private booking being booked 30 minutes into my 2km swim. Glenfield Leisure Centre, do better, please - you may just find that your customer base become happier and more likely want to come back...

Negative experience: Been twice its OK but bit annoying short time in the spa pool. Second time no sauna no steam room and the spa was Luke warm mainly no bubble time so was disappointed especially for $8 for amenities not available.

Fantastic experience: Could cater to a lot of people. Children's pool is heated while the adult pool is spacious including the spa & sauna.

Positive experience: I really like this place, however I don’t understand why there are kids at the pools after 8pm. Can adults get some time to themselves? For at least an hr? Kids screaming and parents screaming at each other around 8:30-9:30 is so painful. Also one recommendation would be instead of having a hot sauna and a “cooler” sauna, have a quiet one and a talking one, so some of us can relax. The “cooler” one is often more hot anyway! And I have had a number of items stolen, please look into getting security cameras installed. Thanks.
