Fantastic experience: Great gym with everything we need and where we could join as a family. Our teens are very happy to start their journey there. Friendly staff and heaps of supplements (and discount for members ). Only part that doesn't work that well for me is the cardio as I'm short and the bike is not too adjustable for my side, but 10/10 for the gym. Highly recommended. (Oh, discount for CDHB staff or you can use the Fitness Passport like I do!) #TeamInception

Fantastic experience: The gym is massive, there is variety of equipment to choose from, no matter what exercise you are doing, they got that equipment, though I feel like they could provide a belt for dips, Becuase that’s important, as I do dips a lot with free weight, but the good thing is they got a machine dip to replace the free weight dip.

Fantastic experience: Mean as gym, I recommend. pricing is good for what it has to offer. Staff is super friendly and social, a few of my friends work here including Riley Putt. Wide range of equipment , sick down lighting throughout the whole gym. Bathrooms are always clean and kept tidy for use.

Negative experience: Would not recommend inception gym for several reasons. After being a member of various gyms over the last 25yrs, this is the only gym that I have been driven to requested that my contact be terminated before finishing the 12-month term. After 6 months of being a member, I found that I had lost the enjoyment and buzz that went along with a gym training session here. I believe their own description of having “meticulously maintained facilities and unparalleled fitness experience” is an exaggeration. Both treadmills are dangerous, the belts will slip when you jog on them and even feel unsteady to walk on them. When you report it, they get fixed for a short time then it starts again. Both the spin bikes seat heigh adjusting bolts are always stripped. When I have reported this, I keep getting told they are waiting for replacement parts to arrive, and they are coming from Europe (they both have been broken pretty much all of 2024). Cables are often slack in the cable machine resulting in them getting wedged in the pully system. Their response was poor when emailed re terminating my membership (they only replied once to the 3 emails I sent them). I highlighted my dissatisfaction with the gym, how I did not feel they were maintaining the gym to a standard that I expect for my membership fees. They did not acknowledge any of my concerns in their reply just “Here is a breakdown of your cancellation fee’s, Cancellation as of today would be:” ………………………. “Cheers” Be careful, they do have a “gotcha” in the sign up in contract. The One free Inception Labs product when you sign a 12-month contact, you must pay full RRP if to want to exit the contract early despite the fact you get “exclusive supplement discounts”. Given this, it was more expensive for me to cancel the membership than just let it run out (even though they were so nicely only going to charge me for 50% of my fees that I had paid during the 2 weeks that I waited for them to reply to my original email). I advised them 2 months before the end of my 12-month fixed contract that at the end of that period I did not want to continue (so I did not have to pay for the free supplement). They tried to tell me then that, the 28 days notification of cancelling my membership would be actioned ONLY AFTER I had completed the 12-month period (essentially charging me for 13 months). When I questioned this, I was advised it was a stock standard practice. They did rectify this later after I strongly challenged that decision with them. I don’t know how many other people they may have got with that one. Given it was not financially viable for me to cancel my membership, I have let my membership run out (given it feels like they only want my cash anyway) and joined another gym.
