Negative experience: Gym was great, things were awesome, great simple weights area, then they stopped fixing the machines in a resonable period of time, have spoken to the technogym rep and he informed me that they only buy second hand equipment and do not hold a service contract. They became completely unaccomidating of callisthenics, such as removing the internal calisthenics frame and moving all pull up handles(not bars) under the low roof to prevent muscle ups without hitting the roof, it feels. From the lack of of physical action, immediate (same day repair) and active planning it feels like the gym is simply a cash grab for the owner. Not to mention they screwed over all of there long term contracts when they rewrote the new contracts to include features that were and still are addons for the old contracts such as outdoor access.

Fantastic experience: Ive been here a long time ago and This place is really good and there’s a lot of equipment to use and nice people to talk to. Ive been doing my exercise and gym always and happily.

Positive experience: I noticed that my membership is set to expire on February 28th, but I received a notification saying it will expire on February 10th. If I hadn’t checked, this could have caused confusion. Just wanted to share this feedback so it can be looked into.

Positive experience: I do enjoy coming to this gym, even though I have moved to the other side of the city. I won’t be going any where else any time soon . However being honest, the leaving / renewal policies aren’t very appealing. And I may consider a new gym when my year contract comes for renewal

Negative experience: The gym is ok if you’re looking for a cheap option, but be cautious about their policies. The notice periods and admin/cancellation fees are unreasonable. Additionally, several pieces of equipment are frequently broken, the bathrooms are often dirty, and cleaning supplies often run out during the day. On weekends, the gym can get quite messy with overflowing bins.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, would be perfect if people weren't skipping flush the toilet day.

Negative experience: It was an ok gym; however, be warned that their cancellation process does not align with Commerce Commission standards (taking payments after contract cancellation outside of the minimum term). Despite multiple emails back and forth, they maintained a position that breached Commerce Commission guidelines. It's a pity, as the gym was decent; however, if you're considering it due to its competitive pricing, be aware that there might be some unforeseen complications later. It might be wiser to choose a more reputable establishment.

Fantastic experience: Been to most gyms in Christchurch and this place hands down is the best gym in Canterbury. Great equipment, amazing staff, and the friendliest gym rats you'll ever come across in your life. The best place to be not only for your physical but mental health as well. Been coming here for almost 2 years now and couldn't recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym with a great range of equipment that cater to a variety of exercises and muscle groups. It is also in great condition and very well maintained. Friendly staff members and also a great variety in facilities including the main gym, outdoor exercise area and connected martial arts area.

Fantastic experience: One of the finest gyms in town, a bit pricier than Jetts or City Fitness, but quality comes at a cost! Perfect for those seeking serenity while breaking a sweat. The martial arts setup is a steal, offering top-notch training at a bargain. When entering the building you are often greeted by the most beautiful person laying eyes on whom works as a natural pre-workout in case you forget to take. AKA, known as Nigel. Worried about the fees? Half of it is an investment in seeing Hannah smile, and the other half is quite worth the facilities.

Fantastic experience: Had my free week trial and absolutely loved it. The prices are very affordable for all the equipment you get. Lots of space to workout and lots of floor area when the sliding doors are open which most gyms don’t offer. Staff is very friendly

Fantastic experience: Recently joined affinity fitness and proactive martial arts. Nigel and Sheryl are amazing kind people and the gym itself has great equipment, lighting, an amazing cleaner who works hard to keep the gym super spotless. The other gym goers are friendly and the energy is really good there. I would recommend this modern gym full of great equipment to anybody looking to get in shape or work out. The personal trainers are also very kind and approachable ! Lydia , Achella and Ron are great ! 5 star gym Kain

Negative experience: I had an extremely disappointing experience at this gym. Firstly, the cleanliness was subpar, with unkept bathrooms and a lack of cleaning products for sanitising equipment after use.Secondly, the gym had a lack of equipment, making it difficult to have a fulfilling workout. Additionally, their advertising of the free trial was misleading and unclear, leaving me frustrated and confused. Moreover, the customer service was abysmal. When I voiced my concerns, they were dismissive and unhelpful, showing a lack of care for their customers. Despite canceling my membership within the cooling off period, they refused to provide a refund for the entire week I had paid for, even though I had only attended for two days due to the unsatisfactory conditions. Overall, I would not recommend this gym to anyone. The uncleanliness, limited equipment, poor advertising, and lack of customer service make it a truly disappointing and frustrating experience. Save your time and money by finding a gym that won’t scam you, values its customers and maintains a clean and well-equipped environment.

Positive experience: Recently joined Affinity Fitness, enjoy the 24/7 hours but the cardio area gear is frequently broken/not connected and significantly smaller/has far less equipment than the weights area. Rate 6/10.

It's so chill and the equipments are nice and tidy, the lounge is always clean, the toilets and showers are well stocked and always nice and tidy, the female area with all the mirrors are so nice too! And the place doesn't stink which is AMAZING

Had the complete opposite experience when I was looking at city fitness, there staff are rude so I chose affinity fitness and I'm glad I did. Plus more for you money for the same prices/cheaper than competitors. Cheers guys!

Negative experience: Gym always smells bad and is never clean plus if you accidently leave anything there it will be stolen. Big regrets signing up for a year

Positive experience: Equipment is ok but is still missing many essential ones. Wifi coverage is good. No lockers. Shower rooms have no where to put bags with terrible hooks that dropped my possessions off onto the floor which was covered in dirty water and toilet paper. Went to take a shower and need to press a button on the outside of the room to turn on the hot water requiring me to go out of the room basically naked to press it. Turned the shower on and no hot water came out of the shower. Tried pressing the button many times and even trying many other shower rooms. Ended up having to have a freezing cold shower. Trying to change while stepping in the filth on the floor. Come on affinity you can do better than this.

Negative experience: I signed up for 2 years with them, Due to health issues I only barely used 3 months out of 24 months. I contacted them to cancel my membership after 2 year contract completed, however they keep charging from me. When I contacted them, they said I need to fill a form to cancel. so if that the case they should have not promised that they will cancel when the contract end. Also they have charged more than 26 months for my 2 year contract. They never refund the extra they charge. Bad place to sign up. There are many facilities better than them, poor service. Look for someone else please.

Negative experience: Seems like there are at least 5 different machines that are broken every time I go in. When classes are on, half the gym is cut off and floor space is very limited. Bathrooms are always in a very "used" state. Always take your own headphones as the music is not exactly what most people exercise to. Ladies on reception are always very nice and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Affinity is a great gym I love how I can use it when ever I want 24/7 so it's easy to fit my workout routine into my busy schedule. Their is a number of different gyms all over Christchurch, all the equipment is of a high quality, they have quality shower room, so no more leaving the gym covered in sweat and even hair driers in the changing room which I don't have any use for but just thought it could be benifitial for some people. All of the staff have been friendly and professional and everytime I've been there the place has been spotless. I also like that they provide disinfectant and wipes for people to wipe down equipment before or after using it and they have regular fitness, yoga and martial arts classes. What more could you ask for?
