Proactive Martial Arts

Fantastic experience: My babies absolutely LOVE Proactive Martial Arts! We’ve finally found a sport where they both feel comfortable! & confident! They look forward to trainings every week! The staff have been absolutely welcoming & accomodating from the first moment we stepped foot in Proactive Martial Arts! Made us feel so welcomed! Just overall a good positive environment!

Negative experience: This place ruined my life, putting me through 50 minutes of immense torture. In this 50 minutes, they make you go through strenuous activities in a crowded class such as waving around sticks. Me and the two other members attending this eskrima class should not have experienced this, and am extremely disappointed. This place is super legit and recommend spending $500 to learn nothing, getting a super cute colored shirt

Negative experience: This gym operates very much like a "McDojo"—prioritizing profit and image over real skill development. The instructors, particularly in the kickboxing classes, either lack experience or don't provide enough feedback on form and technique. The classes are extremely repetitive and don't support real progression. The grading system feels more like a way to generate membership fees than a true reflection of skill—many students advance based on time served, not ability. Advanced classes often include people who clearly aren't ready, which affects the quality of training for everyone. Arts like Zen Do Kai and Eskrima have limited attendance and aren't well taught here. If you're serious about martial arts, I strongly recommend checking out gyms like Lee Gar that have a stronger focus on practical skill and quality instruction.

Fantastic experience: My 4 year old attended the tiny tigers karate class, he absolutely loved it. We definitely recommend them to get your little ones developed self defence skills.

Fantastic experience: Had a really great time with the trials, and signed up officially! Love the environment, everyone’s friendly and helpful and the instructors are very knowledgeable. Love how they explain things. The reception is also very nice and lovely to talk to. Something to note though is that you apparently need to be an orange belt to be able to use the “open mat” session and that it’s mainly for Muay Thai/kick boxing. A little bit disappointing as I got a premium plan to be able to use it, and I had only found out now. Will be downgrading to an elite plan.

Fantastic experience: First time in class (for free lesson) and it was actually fun! It was intimidating at first but the instructor was really nice and made sure I was comfortable and on track with the class.

Fantastic experience: Can't fault Anna and Nigel. Supportive and quickly make you feel apart of the proactive family. Recommend krav maga and muay thai. Great for both genders and any age ( Training in my 50's). Even find the dad jokes funny...
