Positive experience: Good gym. Excellent small movie theatre

Positive experience: Epic place, good community facility but really needs a swimming pool

Positive experience: Fitness gym: Well equipped. However no straight bar for pullups. They also list all their equipment online, which is great! On the downside, the room is small and the changing room funny. No door and only one room. One toilet and one shower, same place.

Negative experience: I went to enquire about gym membership or a concession card and was treated with the rudest customer service that I’ve experienced in a very long time. When I asked about membership and concession card options I was just met with a stare and actually had to prompt for information to which I was really told “well you just asked about three questions “. I was so taken her back, and thought well you could start with answering the first question but I wasn’t quick enough to say that. I’m glad that I’ll be going to the gym outside of office hours so I don’t have to deal with this guy again, who I believe is the manager of the rec Centre. I would like to know who he’s accountable to. He was rude to the lady in front of me as well.

Negative experience: Didn’t mention on phone call that the climbing wall was closed. I brought my disabled brother to the wall (he just wanted to look at it) after a 3 hour drive. We were shocked to find out that the climbing wall was shut. Shame, the facilities looked good.

Positive experience: Great place for rollerblades. Kids & adults alike enjoyed buzzing around the indoor rink. Birthday party booths available. Busy noisey fun place. Great value. Did the climbing wall for a birthday party - well organised & overseen by staff. Good value too.

Positive experience: Fun for all, and a gym if you like pain!. Many sports to enjoy, or just hire a basketball and go dribbling, climbing walls, fully equipped gym, table tennis, and afterwards, use the shower and enjoy a movie, all under same roof.

Fantastic experience: Rec Center in Motueka could do a better job at staying open, especially during the school holidays and Sunday. The location is excellent though.

Fantastic experience: I really love this recreational centre in Motueka. I have been in quite many similar places, and this was both economical & well equipped. 10 dollars for a casual pass, a shower included (you can also only shower there, it is 5 dollars). After the gym we went to the movie theatre and loved that as well! A couple of movies shown per day, awesome!

Negative experience: Cold shower for 5 nzd and no refundation

Fantastic experience: Cinema, gym, roller skating area, indoor sports area...great place. Showers available...the only downside was that I paid 4 dollars to get a hot shower, but the water was freezing cold...but the guy at the reception offered me another chip if I come back another day!

Negative experience: We all showed up for Monday morning badminton to be advised they have booked the hall to someone else. No notice. We have been enduring the fact that they continue to put up the wrong nets (.The shuttle wedges in the net).For months now.Not sure who's in charge pretty poor show.

Negative experience: As I was back in Motueka for the day, I went to go and get an 'one off' gym pass. I went at 7.30 and was told I wasn't able to access the gym as this was too close to 8pm when the receptionist went home. Having been to various gyms in my life, I have never encountered this issue. Usually a 24 hour access gym key grants members entry to the gym after it's closed (hence being called a key), but doesn't mean everyone who doesn't hold the 24 hour key is rounded up and kicked out upon closing. Upon asking the receptionist why their website didn't state this strange anomaly, they just pointed to their paper pamphlet. Not only did this have not support the receptionist's claims in the slightest, but for those who do not live in Motueka and want to go to the gym when travelling, this is a very backwards and inundated business decision. Between poor clarity on the situation, and a receptionist who had very little clue about the how and why do their policies , at the very least I believe that to function as a business in a town that attracts a lot of tourists the website needs attention.

Fantastic experience: Great venue for major events. Large auditoriums/ playing areas with bar and cafe facilities between. All facilities clean and well serviced an staff prepared to go out of their way to make sure your event is successful and enjoyable. We had a great week of darts port there. Our thanks to the folks from Muses cafe who manned the venue cafe providing lovely meals and snacks. That honey roasted ham on the bone was to die for! Motueka town has good accommodation , shopping, cafes and bars, access to some of the finest beaches and walkways in the country and is only 30 minutes drive from Nelson city. There was plenty of parking available. If you want a great venue for indoor sports events, this one is ideal and from what I hear, affordable. If you are planning an event, check it out.

Positive experience: So many activities here, from roller skating to a well equipped gym with personal trainers available to badminton, basketball, netball, gym clubs, rock wall climbing and a silks class to mention a few. They also run a fabulous after school and holiday program. The helpful and friendly staff are more than happy to help. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Fabulous recreational facility with cinema, skating rink huge gymnasium watched mini ball played by local upcoming players, and just knew I was watching some of future NZ greats amongst them, huge parking area and close to township of Motueka.

Positive experience: Decently equipped gym. Not too cheap (70$ per month, or 10$ for single use - at least at July), but also never too crowded. Could use some TRX and maybe better stationary bikes, but again - recommended place.
