Positive experience: The Taranaki Art Awards are held here annually. There are a wide selection of Paintings, Charcoals, Wood Sculptures, Fibre Art, Pottery, Metal Sculptures, Photography, unusual and creative Artworks. Something for everyone. Entries are not restricted to Taranaki Artists only.

Fantastic experience: Stopped in at Soul Kitchen (on site restaurant) for a meal after a local walk. The burgers are great, far more than I needed to fill my gills, and tasty to boot. Don't be fooled by the "Rec Centre" look, go in and have a burger and coffee.

Positive experience: We played a girls rugby tournament there, with 7 teams and a heap of spectators I thought the cafe would be open at least. There wasn't even dressing rooms available for the girls to change in. Nice complex just lacking in opening.

Positive experience: Great facilities for community use. Gym, Basketball, Restaurant , darts and all. Skateboard Park. Huge playing fields that take you to Middelton's Bay on the coast. Toilet stop by entrance. Freedom Camping .
