Positive experience: I've been a member of Snap Fitness Royal Oak for 2 years, visiting 7 days a week in the first year and 6 days a week in the second year. Here's my experience: Pros: Underground parking: Super handy on rainy days. You never have to worry about getting wet. Separate showers: Each shower is separated, which is quite convenient. Individual machines: The leg curl and leg extension machines are separate, unlike some gyms that have combined ones. This is great since most people prefer to hit hamstrings and quads one after the other. Cold water: One of the water fountains provides really cold water, which I really appreciate. Cons: No equipment upgrades: Over the last 2 years, I haven't seen any equipment upgrades. When the management changed, there was a $5 increase in the membership fee. I was fine with this, as it gave hope for equipment upgrades and overall improvements to the gym. However, that didn't happen. The machines are never get upgraded but just maintained. Also, one of the leg presses was removed for some reason. While old equipment isn't necessarily bad, upgrades would be nice. Same music playlist: The music playlist hasn’t changed in 2 years. Listening to the same songs over and over gets tiring, and I’ve grown to dislike hearing them even outside the gym. Feedback emails are occasionally sent to members, but I'm not sure why, as simple requests (like changing the playlist) never seem to be addressed. I also suggested adding extra grips for the pull machines, which would cost around $200 to $300 for a while set. These would be really handy and give members the impression that the gym is working to improve. In summary, if you're looking for a humble gym, Snap Fitness Royal Oak could be a good fit. However, if you're after more variety and constant updates to equipment, it might not meet your expectations.

Fantastic experience: Nice and spacious gym with friendly staff. Gym has different sections/areas so you can always find a spot to workout so its never too crowded in one space. My favourite is the separate boxing room & Leg Zone.

Snap Fitness Royal oak is definitely a gym that I would highly recommend to people. Staff are always happy, chatty, welcoming and always happy to help. The whole gym including the bathrooms are always clean. Never have to wait for machines which is amazing cause we can all agree, waiting for machine is not fun . Fantastic experience: Great gym. Has all the equipment you could possibly need for all your workouts. Kind, friendly and welcoming staff. The gym floor and bathrooms are always extremely clean. There's always been parking available during off-peak hours. Couldn't really name a single fault with the gym even if I tried. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is considering signing up.

Fantastic experience: Really good gym, with all the equipment you need, friendly staff and clean premises. The price is higher than city fitness but is a reasonable trade off for having a mostly empty gym to yourself during off-peak times. It is also conveniently located next to the shopping area in Royal Oak where you could park as well, despite the location itself having enough private parking during off-peak hours. Overall well worth it.

Negative experience: Pretty sad experience today. My wife and I are super casual members, hardly go but have been paying for four years (2020). Today we couldn’t find our cards so went to the gym to grab new ones. The gym wanted to charge $65/each for replacements so it was going to cost $130 for two cards. These cost less than $5 each. The manager said I could cancel our memberships which we accepted. I’m a bit disappointed now, I don’t have a gym, we enjoyed being members. I’m sure after four years you could be entitled to a replacement card? Otherwise great place but unfortunately does not appreciate loyal customers.

Akira and kyuvin who I have been training with have helped me with my weightloss journey from a whopping 150 kgs to now 105 kgs thank brothers last of all Sandra who has the best energy man she picks you up on your bad days, she has been really helpful with the ladies. snap fitness royal oak is that gym yall, should sign up asap ✌️

Fantastic experience: Over the last 12weeks the Royal Oak Snap team have helped me achieve some goals that without them seemed in possible (10kgs down!) My PTs with Ben are my favourite part of my week, with him consistently pushing and challenging me! The owner of the gym is often around and always up for a chat and open to suggestions stions and feedback and all of the other staff are so encouraging! Love Soraya's fithop / pilates classes and always look forward to bumping into Sandra with her infectious smile!

Negative experience: Worst if you’re trying to cancel your membership! I emailed to cancel my membership as I’m travelling overseas only to be kicked around for 3 days asking to put my membership on hold! Finally I was told I can cancel it but can’t do so via email. I explain I’m overseas so I get a form sent to me to fill and and cancel which was no problem until I get another email advising they can’t accept not form as it’s not “PDF”. It’s taken 4 days now to try cancel a membership and it’s still ongoing. Cancelling is a mission!!!

Inside, they've got a decent variety of machines and equipment, nothing too shabby. What makes Snap Fitness really awesome, though, is the friendly crew. Shoutout to the local PT Kyuvin, and the rest of the gang—they're not just gym staff, they're like your fitness buddies. They know their stuff and are always there to help you out. Plus, that downstairs parking just makes the whole gym experience even better. It's not just a gym; it's a chill spot where you can get fit and hang with a cool crew.

The equipment is simple and easy enough to understand without needing anyone. If you do need help with anything, the staff at Snap Fitness Royal Oak are always there to help with any qiestions you may have. Don't think I'd be where I am without PT Shannon and the other PTs. I'm down 8kgs in just 3 months which is pretty impressive for me who is new to the gym. Definitely will continue my fitness journey with you guys!!

Negative experience: Really not great anymore sadly! I've been here almost two years and used to LOVE this gym - it used to be incredible but not anymore. Their new payment system is awful. Recently had a friend sign up for a free trial only to be asked to wait 30 days at the end to cancel and then getting charged again at the end of that... Paid for two additional months on a 30 day "free trial". I thought it was just a mistake and the staff were nice, but their boss didn't even apologise - just said he will not process the refund. I've been with other gyms before and never had such a horrid experience. I've had other friends leave the gym recently too! Hope they get their X factor back but time to leave for now :(

Negative experience: Very rude and the place is falling apart, machines are rusty and the place is very dusty. I immediately cancelled my subscription and move to a better gym.

Positive experience: I lost my card three months ago and replaced it with a new one with cost. The sister at the reception desk told me that if I found the old card, I could get the new one for refund. But when I found my old card a month ago, the Asian boy at the front desk told me I could only return but not refund. The new card was brand new without any damage. He told me I could sell it to my friend. I didn't want to do that and just give it back to him without any refund. I was so confused that I withdrew my membership. He showed impatience. But they were really nice when I joined the membership. This gap in attitude makes me feel uncomfortable. Three stars is a respect for the two years of good experience.

Negative experience: Shocking that you allow people who have no disability to park in the disability parking with no apparent disability or sticker. I need to use these parking. Perhaps you can let your members know not to or I will get these cars towed.

Negative experience: I went there to join around 5pm because i saw the board on road so i went there and trainer was inside looked me like i asked his kidney i don’t know his wife or girl friend must left him like they should.i just wanted to ask what is good time to come finally he opened the door and said did you she the sign on door then why were your sign on road He was so rude. Never going to snap fitness.know owner is covering up their rude staff.

Fantastic experience: I have attended a variety of gyms across Auckland and a number of the snap fitness gyms and snap fitness royal oak is in my top 3. The facilities are clean and well maintained. There are always machines available and it never feels too busy. There is a variety of equipment and spaces to use.

Positive experience: Free weights, cycles, treadmills, rowing machines, boxing bag, classes, cables.

Positive experience: Need a little bit more hygiene. And more house keeping.

Positive experience: The amount of barbells this gym has is great but I think the gym could have more plates (especially bumper plates). Otherwise it is a good gym

Fantastic experience: I've been to a few Snap Fitness gyms, but always seem to come back to Royal Oak. A good range of cardio equipment, free weights and machines. A number of racks for squats/deadlifts and seperate areas/rooms. More spacious than other gyms, heaps of parking and things are kept nice and clean. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. If classes are your thing, there a plenty of those too!
