Fantastic experience: Amazing atmosphere, good car parking. Couldn't ask for more. Lots of equipment for workout which definitely what I've been looking for.

Negative experience: I have been going to this gym for 5 years, the gym has always been unclean. The bath rooms are always gross and unkept. You only have three hours at this gym until you get a parking ticket, I have been given 500 dollars worth of tickets that I have had to pay.

Positive experience: Everything is great about this place apart from ever filthy and blocked toilets, This is now 4th day in a row when I walked in clogged toilets. Would be great if this can be looked after on daily basis.

Positive experience: Personally goes there every week day, assume have a good infrastructure but can improve some of the old equipments into newest version. Overall good new step machines what improves a lot on that particular exercise.

Positive experience: I hadn’t seen any info on cancellation or holds advertised or mentioned and I’ve just found out when trying to cancel. 1st it’s not a simple process, you have to answer a whole Q and A on why you’re leaving with the website chatbot. I’m a member on the app but I’ve had to use the ‘member portal’ which I’ve never come across and that wouldn’t let me login, even after changing passwords and trying on both phone and laptop. There’s a form you have to then complete and it’s 4 weeks notice to cancel, therefore you’re paying another 4 weeks membership. This would make sense for a small gym who needs to replace your membership but CF takes new members continuously. The other option is to put your membership on hold, this has a maximum of 12 weeks and COSTS to have put it on hold. If you do decide you want to cancel and ever rejoin, new basic memberships are limited access to your “home gym” only, meaning you can’t visit multiple locations on the basic membership. Bit disappointing and it seems very much like a money grab.

Fantastic experience: Loads and loads of machines, love the plenty of variety in different workout tools. From old school to new school equipments too. I love training there, besides my home base The Palms. Otherwise, it's spacious. It reminds me of World Gym Australia.

Negative experience: Facilites are usually dirty, you’ll find many people don’t wipe down their machines and staff apparently don’t either. Different membership levels do not give you what you supposedly pay for, wifi is straight up broken, running a couple hundred kb even when there’s only a couple of people in the gym. Not specific to this location, City Fitness as a whole have been all over the place trying to decide what their policies and fees are. Make sure you read you contract because the staff you talk to have no idea what’s in there. Had multiple staff be quite rude and any issue will be your fault, they take no responsibility for anything. If you’re paying more than the $7 p/w you can get better value at so many other gyms in the city.

Negative experience: Kia Ora, I recently visited your gym as a guest of my partner. Its a good gym with all facilities. But can I tell you that the young lady that you have hured for reception is extremely rude. My partner was already dping his gym routine when I arrive seperately to be his guest at the gym. I talked very nicely with a smile to the young lady at the front, but she very rudely said that gym members and their guest should come at the same time and that she doesnot know who my partner is blah blah. I mean I definitly get the rules, but there is a way of saying things. I am a public sector senior employee who knows how to n8cely reinstate any regulations to pepple. Because people are just people and they forget things. Customer service should be polite and nice. I am sorry to say that the customer service experience is much better at les mills. You need to hire better front staff.

Positive experience: I've been here twice whilst visiting friends. Impressed by the sheer space and the numerous amounts of equipment. Like how each weight area has its own mirror. Also, like how there are loads of spray bottles. Equipment is in good condition and spaced out evenly. Greeted by staff member this morning, which was nice. Awesome gym. I would definitely come back for more workouts.

Negative experience: Nice set up and good bathrooms. Only downside was the rude young girl with a fringe at the front desk. came in on a Wednesday at around 11:30 and she was so rude and blunt when we didn’t understand the issue with having a guest and as we worked it out and I let the guest through she then made a rude comment as I didn’t go through with her like I was supposed to read her mind and know what she’s thinking! Thanks for that hope mine and other reviews about her are used to make this gym a better environment

Negative experience: I have been visiting this gym when I come to Christchurch 2 or 3 times a year for about 10 years, always paying the $20 casual rate, and have always returned because it is a great gym and suits my needs. However today I had a bad experience with the female manager and one of the female personal trainers. As my session progressed I was going heavy on the decline bench and needed a spot for safety. I spent some time looking for another member who might be willing to help but no luck. So I asked at reception and was told that I could ask a personal trainer if they were not busy with a client . One female trainer was walking towards us, so I asked if she could help, but instead I got told that I should train with a friend, or lift lighter weights, or book a session with a personal trainer. I eventually approached a middle aged male trainer who was just finishing with a client and he graciously agreed to spot me - it took 30 seconds! The attitude from the manager and the first trainer was not what I wanted as a customer. The manager suggested that I should go to a different gym! And I will definitely take that advice on future trips to Christchurch!

Fantastic experience: this is my regular gym. has improved a lot with renovations. has everything you might need for any training. cityfitness is the cheapest on the market so can't expect much (I don't love spending an hour under fluorescent lights but for $7 a week I'm not going to complain). staff and trainers are lovely :)

Negative experience: A gym full of contradicting policies and poorly maintained equipment. Wants members to wear masks going in and out of the gym, but not while they're exercising next to each other breathing even harder. Wants members to wear masks when interacting with staff members for their "health and safety", proceeds to talk amongst themselves and training clients maskless. What a joke.

Fantastic experience: Very nice gym, good variety of equipment! Maybe a bit too big quite hard to navigate the equipment, personally I'd place the machines of one muscle in cluster instead of spreading them out.

Positive experience: Lots of equipment! Not too crowded later in the day. Open 24/7 for 18+. Cheap af $7 weekly. Can bring guest with second level membership. Free parking

Negative experience: One of friends was trying to cancel the membership, for a month she have filed the cancellation form twice but the fee never stopped being charged. Till this week we went there again, they finally canceled it for her. The man was helpful but the receptionist lady was very rude. Never come back again.

Positive experience: Not bad for a gym, cheap and was never too busy to use most of the equipment you want. Parking is pretty good to within the same building. All cityfitness gyms make you pay out a whole month when you want to cancel which is just greedy.

Lots of machines to choose from,but you do need advise from someone in all aspects.every machine has an explanation on the side to show you what mussle group is targeted which helps. Very clean place and lovely staff. Parking is excellent
