Fantastic experience: Great place for travelers to have a first class shower for 3.50 NZD.

Fantastic experience: We had an awesome two days here, in between basketball games. Staff were very patient and calm, prices are so reasonable and we just couldn’t get over the manu zone, ideal!!!! Fantastic way to spent a few hours.

Fantastic experience: Awesome, friendly staff. First time using the belt floater thingee that allows you to aqua walk, as pool is real deep. It was amazing and real good for my back.

Negative experience: Had a swim for 5 minutes then pool was closed for cleaning and they put acid in the pool, no info givin no eta on when it would be safe to swim after an hour we left 18dollars down the drain staff handling of the situation was appallingly

Fantastic experience: I love Swimming at Rotorua Aquatics the 25M Pool is always nice and warm and the Indoor Learners Pool is so nice and hot when you first hope in its so relaxing and i enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool swimming 1500M Freestyle i will defintely come again sometime when i next visit Rotorua

Positive experience: Nice face-lift, good effort on the ablutions, real shame the spas weren't upgraded nothing like a good spa after a swimmy. I like how the entry is separated from the pools.

Fantastic experience: Good unlimited hot showers for $3.50. It gets busy on weekends and school holidays. Plenty of parking and yes, the smell of sulphur is so prominent!

Negative experience: Today, a female lifeguard's behavior was quite off-putting. I was at a child's birthday party, and the designated area was incredibly cramped. When the kids got out of the pool to eat, a few of us adults had nowhere to sit or stand. We moved to another unoccupied party area, even though there was a much larger space further away, but it only had three small table areas with chairs, all of which were occupied by other visitors. The male lifeguard was attentive, but when the woman took over, she left her post to confront myself and two other adults, rudely demanding that we move because we weren't in the designated party area. In her defense, the kids had started going back in the pool, opening up more space, but we hadn't noticed as we were engrossed in conversation. She didn't even ask politely. To make matters worse, with 30 minutes left of the two-hour rental, we were told to pack up and leave! It's stressful enough organizing children's birthday parties, and this wasn't even my child's party, but I felt terrible for them and their experience. The rest of the party was spent crammed around two small tables, with most people standing or sitting against the windows while eating cake and never opening presents. Two hours wasn't enough time for the entire party, and three tables weren't nearly enough space for all the kids, their parents, and the families' friends and relatives.

Positive experience: My whanau love swimming here, very affordable, we have had many birthday parties here, love the new renovation, please bring back the spa pools soon

Positive experience: Does what it says on the tin.. couple of decent pools, plenty of kids yelling and screaming and having the time of their lives! so if you are looking for peace and tranquility, try another one of Rotorua's many other swimming hole options

Fantastic experience: Good and clean facilities, loved the huge outside area with two sport pools (had a lane all for myself). Nice and friendly staff taking their job serious and observing the pools all the times.

Negative experience: While the new setup is definitely cleaner with more showers and other amenities, I still prefer the old one. The old pool had a spa, which they didn’t include this time, and there were more cubbies and plenty of seating areas. The new pool has very limited seating or places to hang out and then no cubbies. It feels less comfortable and welcoming

Fantastic experience: Our U14 water polo team played a tournament here in August 2024. The facility is new and well designed. It was a fantastic location and a great place to have a tournament.

Negative experience: This new updated pools are terrible! Taken out the only good parts, it's blinking cold, wasted time & money we'll be travelling out of town for our regular swim's

Negative experience: Well being a local with mokos 3 and 6 yrs old found the pools disappointing in the way that my mokos were bored after half hour in the pool not very child friendly actually boring not much for them to do and no cubbies for clothes and not enough space to put your belongings had to find space by window no place to sit and eat our lunch very very disappointed that these at these pools so we ho to the Kawarau pools amazing set up

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, arrived there an hour or so before closing. Big swimming pool for kiddies to have fun in. Would definitely visit here again when we come back down for another road trip.

Negative experience: Not much fun at the moment. Only a very small area allocated to "public recreation" which is where the kids can play (18 kids jammed into a 3mx 5m space). the rest is allocated to lane swimming (with only 4 people lane swimming). Suggest that the allocation of space is more dynamic and responsive to public requirement at the time.

Fantastic experience: Went swimming this morning and Ioved it! Staff are very helpful. Even though it's more limited while the renovations are going on it is still an excellent opportunity to stay fit with swimming I'm excited about the final look next year when the renos are completed!

Positive experience: Nice welcome on arrival. The desk attendant was able to answer all my questions. Went back to the desk to get a spa pass. Rented a locker to put our things in. Used each one of the outside spas nearly the whole time we were there. Facilities need some cosmetic touch ups. But overall a great swim in all the pools we tried we enjoyed it. Affordable and staff were friendly.

Fantastic experience: Great value for money, we come from wellington so our pool prices are far high and less value then this pool I feel. Indoor options give u 3 pools+2spas outside u have a splash pad to one side, then on other side spa pool +playground and bbq I think then at the back there is the outdoor pool, inside there is a small cafe with a few hot and cold options staff and life guards are always friendly.

Negative experience: One life guard had the most vile attitude. The way she spoke to the kids was appauling. Coming from Auckland and our experience left a bad taste in our mouths. She acted like she was all that. Yelled at the kids and told them she wasnt in the mood. Just awful. Happy to give a name when my complaint is heard. Will also be contacting to make sure something is done about it.

Negative experience: I use to enjoy taking my kids here but a recent visit wasn't a very pleasant welcoming.The woman at the front desk had a horrible attitude that even my 7 year old said she wasn't very nice but other than her having a very bad day the rest was fine.

Fantastic experience: Rotorua Aquatic Centre is an excellent swimming facility with a wide range of warm to hot pools. The deep pool allows for more serious indoor swimming, but also has a dedicated area for doing bombs. The leisure pool is very warm and quite large and includes a shallow toddler and baby area. The spa pools and lazy river are hot pools and are very relaxing. There are also outdoor spray areas, a large outdoor pool and some covered outdoor spas. All this for only $15.50 for one adult and two children, what a bargin. One of the cheapest fun-filled activities to do in Rotorua (especially on a rainy day).

Positive experience: Could have been better. 1 sometimes 2 lifeguards for about 60 kids in the main pool. Kids bombing and jumping on others even though the signs says NO running jumping or bombing. There is a separate pool for this

Negative experience: Very bad quality of water which lead to eye burn. Cant see properly for a day and eye get red for a week. Not so hygienic guys i dont suggest to go there., Better go to blue lake and swim

Positive experience: Went for a weights gym session as it was the only casual gym open till 9pm. Very small room with about 6 prices of cardio equipment (treadmills, rowers etc). 1 squat/bench rack and 1 free bench. Olympic bar and weights up to 180kg. Dumbells up to 30kg. 1 x home style cable gym that was broken. Pretty old and not a nice space to train in. Nice staff and good tunes though. OK if you are desperate to train and everywhere else is closed then go ahead otherwise there will be better options. Price for a casual visit was $15.

Negative experience: The place is pretty dirty namely the spas outside. Needs to be more for children to do, no hydro slides, has a lazy river but is short. The place needs to be renovated, it feels as dirty as it looks and staff are far from friendly. Probably the worst public pools in NZ that I have been to. It is an embarrassment to Rotorua.

Negative experience: The outdoor pool has just reopened after a looong closure, and now they've decided that the changing rooms need upgrading. They could have done this at the same time - a double inconvenience bestowed upon us by the council bureaucrats.

Negative experience: The amount of theives operating when your having fun really really sucks!! Our kids gear got stolen this evening and this is like the 3rd time its happened, so frustrating after a fun time, this needs to stop!!

Positive experience: Nice relaxing way to end the day spent in the spa's chillaxing. Different heat levels, so find the one that suits your mood. Suggest taking a water bottle as you will sweat it out in some cases. Worth the $2 extra on top of your entrance fee.
