The Athlete Factory

The Athlete Factory, located in the heart of Mt Maunganui, is a premier, program-driven training facility dedicated to delivering world-class results for athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all ages. Far from a conventional gym, we specialize in structured, outcome-based coaching that caters to the diverse needs of the community, from young children to elite high-performance competitors.

Our core philosophy revolves around Long-Term Athlete Development and holistic physical resilience. We offer a comprehensive suite of programs designed to build a robust foundation for athletic success and lifelong health. AF Kids introduces children aged 5–10 to fundamental movement skills and injury prevention through engaging, game-based environments, fostering confidence and coordination early on. For older competitors, AF Youth provides a progressive pathway focused on strength, power, agility, and conditioning, tailored to support growth during critical developmental stages.

For those seeking competitive advantages or specialized recovery, our signature AF Premium program delivers advanced, individualized strength and conditioning coaching. This service includes detailed needs assessments, bespoke annual training plans, and one-on-one technical guidance, making it ideal for high-performance athletes in rugby, netball, cricket, and more. Additionally, our Club Collaborations allow regional teams to access sport-specific S&C and skills sessions designed in partnership with their own coaches.

Wellness and accessibility are at the forefront of our offering through FitAF, a supportive group community that makes fitness approachable and enjoyable. With a variety of classes focusing on strength, conditioning, rehab, and power, FitAF helps members build resilience and achieve their health goals in a positive environment. We also provide Open Gym access (Monday–Friday, 5:30 am – 7:00 pm) for those who prefer the flexibility of self-directed training in our state-of-the-art facility.

Beyond training, we integrate essential recovery and performance services, including sports physiotherapy, massage therapy, sports nutrition, and mental skills coaching. Whether you are a developing youth athlete, a professional sports team, or a local resident looking to enhance your general wellbeing, The Athlete Factory is your partner in achieving excellence.
