The Invercargill Gymnastic Club has classes to suit a range of ages and abilities, from toddlers to adults, through a range of various recreational and competitive programmes.

Our gymnasium on Conway Crescent is fully equipped with a sprung floor, foam pit, and all the apparatus required for men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics (MAG & WAG). We support five of New Zealand’s six GymSport codes.

We aim to provide quality coaching in a friendly atmosphere, with all our classes taught by qualified coaches. Our club is affiliated with Gymnastics New Zealand (GNZ), and our programmes are endorsed by GNZ as well.

Invercargill Gymnastics Club is now a Vaccinated Facility under the COVID-19 Framework Policy RED Setting, which means only people who are fully vaccinated will be able to access our facilities / activities. All members of the club, including coaches, volunteers and athletes who are eligible by age, will be required to show proof of vaccination prior to entry. Under the directive of Sports NZ, all children aged over 8 years (or who are in Year 4 and above at school) MUST wear a mask while in our facility unless they are actively participating in a class. 

Under the RED Traffic Light setting, we strongly recommend that parents, caregivers and guardians do not enter the building unless it is essential. This request is based on the need for the Club to maintain Government requirements for capacity limits and for those not ‘in the field of play’, i.e. not a gymnast, being required to obtain 1 metre spacing. We understand that some younger gymnasts may need a parent for confidence, particularly those new to the club this term. In this case we welcome one parent to support the gymnasts but no siblings (if possible), and please refrain from sitting or touching any equipment. We appreciate all parents’ support in helping us work through these requirements. It has been and will continue to be our total aim is to provide for the safety and wellbeing of the gymnasts.

All members of the Club family (parents/caregivers/coaches/gymnasts) who have the ability to scan the QR code upon entering MUST to do so. We keep physical roll books of attending gymnasts but if there was a case of COVID-19 associated with the Club, the quickest way to connect people is via the QR code. If you cannot scan the QR code, please complete an attendance slip and place it in the box on the table near the front door.
