Fantastic experience: I've been working out here for just over a year now, and I love coming here! Friendly staff, good facilities and the sauna is a bonus. Some very good options for fitness classes and the memberships are well priced.

Negative experience: Dirty sods that aren't made to wipe down the machines. Better still one chick wiping down the wrong machine. Always had poor cust service

Negative experience: It's hard to evaluate it, since they didn't give me access to the whole facility. But I have enough information anyway. I was thinking about starting working out there, but I changed my mind. Just a few equipment, would always have to share, and the worst part is that I wasn't allowed to take a look at the things that were my main goal here. I've seen some heavy bags from outside and I'm a muay thai fighter, so I needed to take a close look. Not every bag can take the power from a heavy guy like me. I requested permission to take a look at them, just to analyse how resistant they are, but they simply said no. That's it. Didn't tell me to come another time or anything. Just "no". So, I don't feel I'm welcome there and I wouldn't recommend it. Every other gym in Invercargill allowed me to, at least, take a look at the whole place. Some of them even allow you to have a trial. YMCA wouldn't let you see everything before making a decision.

Fantastic experience: Great jim go there when I get the chance tryna get gains. The staff are really nice and the equipment and stuff is always very clean. Not to many people go there which makes it even better.

Fantastic experience: The YMCA staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. The sauna, basketball court, climbing wall and skateboard half pipe keep the whole family happy. Free group fitness classes too!

Going to the gym with wee ones is no worries as they can look after your kids on a Tuesday and thursday basis, booking is a must. Family membership is also available.

Positive experience: A small gym with all the equipment needed for a good weights workout.There is a decent number of cardio machines, such as row machines, treadmills, bikes and cross-trainers. There is a good sized court available for hire. The facilities such as showers, sauna and gym equipment are all in good condition. Staff are available to assist. There is a limited range of classes but older people are well catered for. The TVs do not connect to the sound ports on the treadmills so you have to be good at lip reading.

In good condition. Significance: Listed; streetscape value for its interesting ornamentation and character.

Positive experience: Had the equipment i needed. Complete with a dauna, bball court. The music was awesome imho, i hadnt heard will smith's party starter or neyo's sexy love since like 2006. 13 dollars is a bit steep for casual entry though
