Fantastic experience: Two swimming holes along two long stretches of deep river hard up against a rocky steep bank on the western side. You can even drive the car up to the stony riverbank to add some tunes to your picnic out of the boot. Turn off SH2 heading north just after Moonshine Bridge to “Poets Block” or take the second exit to a formal car park where Whakatiki Stream merges with the Hutt River.
