Red Dragon Thaiboxing is a premier Muay Thai and kickboxing gym located in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, dedicated to fostering a powerful sense of community and discipline. More than just a training facility, we operate as a family-oriented hub where respect, growth, and mutual support are at the core of every session. Whether you are a complete beginner or an elite athlete, our inclusive programs cater to all ages and abilities, including specialized classes for kids, adult general fitness, female-focused fight fit, and advanced competitive training.
Our coaching staff is led by Head Coach Brent, a veteran of the sport with over 35 years of experience in kickboxing and Muay Thai. Brent’s journey began in 1990, and his passion for mentoring fighters is matched by his assistant coach, Neihana, a WKL NZ Title Holder and former Black Gloves Team representative at the IFMA World Championships. For our youngest students, Cheyanne leads the kids' program, combining her background as a qualified personal trainer with a nurturing approach that builds confidence and technique in a safe environment.
At Red Dragon Thaiboxing, we pride ourselves on delivering real techniques with real results. Our training philosophy focuses on proper fundamentals, mental resilience, and physical conditioning, helping members achieve peak fitness, self-defense skills, and competitive readiness. We have a proven track record, having produced 7 New Zealand Amateur Champions and organizing the local Iron Shin kickboxing event series. With flexible timetables, affordable access, and a supportive atmosphere, we empower every member to unleash their inner dragon and reach their full potential.
