I grew up in Canada and moved to Auckland NZ in the early 1980’s. It was just the right time for me to join in and help grow the new and exciting exercise to music boom. In 1983 I started my first business known then as Fitness Unlimited Aerobics, which quickly expanded to two centers in Auckland and franchises in four major cities. In 1996 I reinvented Fitness Unlimited and opened the first boutique personal training studio in St. Heliers which was a great success and operated for many years. After two short visits to New Plymouth Taranaki, I felt drawn to move here and I have been providing personal training from my current studio since 2013.Personal and Professional development are core values of mine. I’ve always loved working in the health and fitness field and I’m still as passionate and committed as ever.My aim is to be ‘Positively Life Changing’.

The studio is open, spacious, light and airy. It is always clean, tidy and well organized. Towels, water and facilities for showering are all available for your convenience.You and I train in complete privacy. Having the studio to ourselves means you can easily relax, focus and engage in your exercise. You’ll feel motivated, encouraged and productive in our positive private atmosphere.

I’ll be guiding and encouraging you every step of the way, explaining why and how to do each exercise. Every person I train is treated as an individual and you’ll begin your training at your current level, gradually building up from there. It is important to know you are in competent hands, particularly if you have any past or existing structural conditions which may be painful. My specialties are postural alignment, movement improvement and women’s strength training.

Busy people don’t have time to waste. Your time here will be focused and efficient. This really is a gift to yourself and your loved ones. 40 plus years of experience teaching exercise has led to the development of a proven system for training clients of all ages to realign their posture, increase their flexibility and strength, and develop long term healthy habits. You will understand why and how to move more efficiently throughout your day and have the strength to maintain all your new gains. Depending on your goals, I may need to ask further questions to establish your medical and structural profile. In some instances, I will require medical or physiotherapist clearance. It is important that any work we do is complementary and supportive of any other physical treatments you may be undergoing.

When we begin your regular sessions, we will be working with the personalised programme I have designed for you. I will maintain a written record, session by session, so you will be able to see the progress you are making. Many clients find themselves pleasantly surprised by the progress that they make in a relatively short space of time.

Pricing is inclusive of GST, towels, filtered water, and use of private changing and shower facilities. I structure my programmes in sets of 10 sixty-minute sessions which I refer to as a Term. The first Term is priced at $550, and $500 for subsequent Terms. This assumes training a minimum of twice per week.

Melody is the best Personal Trainer that I have had over the years. Her knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics is exceptional, and she explains the reasoning behind every exercise and movement. Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious and she is a great motivator for lifelong regular exercise. I would highly recommend Melody to any woman who realises and wants the benefits of strength and functional training.

I first met Melody through my Real Estate business when she asked me to appraise her house. Since then, we became great friends and I committed to doing some training with her. Melody was very educated, experienced and patient with guiding me through the exercises and teaching me correct techniques to not cause injury. My sessions with Melody were so fun and inspiring but also had my body feeling the best it ever has that I have now changed careers and am starting work as a Personal Trainer from her studio! Meeting Melody has been Positively Life Changing for me!

I love Melody’s approach to personal training. Suffering neck and shoulder discomfort I sought Melody’s help. She explored my symptoms, analysed my posture and talked me through possible causes. She provided me with a personalised plan of exercises with explanations of what they aimed to achieve and she specifically designed my programme around my lifestyle. After only a few weeks I have noticed significant improvement. I’m in less discomfort and I’m sleeping better. Best of all her programme is resetting my natural posture and will benefit me for years to come.

Since working with Melody I feel fitter, stronger and more importantly healthier. My blood pressure is down and I find her voice guiding me even when she’s not there. With close to four decades of experience and practise in the fitness industry I know that with Melody I’m in great hands. The programme I’m on is my very own, individually designed, and continually adjusted to help me achieve what I want and what I need – a fitter, healthier, more sustainable me. I’ve never known any fitness professional as professional and well-practised as Melody..

Melody is a dedicated, professional, knowledgeable, personal trainer who goes above and beyond for her clients. I thoroughly enjoyed my sessions with Melody. I had some minor injuries when I first started which she planned around and managed well. Nothing was a hassle. Melody made it positive and fun. She is amazing!
