At Poneke Dojo, we pride ourselves on being affiliated with the International Karate Organisation (IKO) based in Tokyo, Japan, allowing our members to connect with over 123 clubs worldwide. Under the guidance of Chris Gower, our Dojo Head and a respected figure in the Kyokushin community, students can experience the best of traditional martial arts infused with modern coaching practices. With over four decades of experience, Chris and his team ensure that each class is tailored to meet the needs and abilities of our diverse group of students.

Our schedule includes a variety of classes designed to engage students of all ages and skill levels, from juniors to advanced fighters. We emphasize age-specific training for children, focusing on developmental skills and building confidence through martial arts. Our engaged senior students often take on mentorship roles, helping guide younger pupils on their journey to black belt and leadership.

Fantastic experience: Ever since I first walked into the dojo it seemed like everyone in the class was there to help me improve and get stronger. After a while I noticed that I was improving but more importantly I had adopted the philosophy of improving others as a means of getting there.This is a strong dojo with a solid philosophical foundation. Highly recommended
