Nearly a year later, I have just seen this review because I really don’t spend my life on social media. I prefer to live my life in the real world. However, now that it has come to my attention, and given the tone of your review I’m going to be equally direct, but first a few facts.Your eldest son trained with us from 1999 to 2013 – 4 years - and no complaints. I personally took him and a friend to a tournament where they both fought and unfortunately did not win any fights. Other tournaments were advised/offered but the opportunities never taken up.Your younger son trained with us from 2017 to April 2021. I went to a lot of effort to get him into a tournament in Tauranga – as you know – and he fought, but lost. In April 2021, he insisted on trying to grade to 1st degree black belt, despite being advised by senior black belts and myself that he needed to work on two areas that he would need to improve in order to pass. Although he worked hard he didn’t pass the grading specifically due to the areas he was advised to improve on.I gave him a full and fair summary of his performance and the results, and even offered to retest him at no cost, but he chose to leave the club instead.Then within weeks of that happening you choose to write this hypocritical and sarcastic review.A combined total of 8 years of teaching your children, having seen me in person many times, and you have never said anything to me. This is nothing more than sour grapes.
