Fantastic experience: Two pools, a wave machine, water slide, steam room, sauna and hot pool. It’s a great facility and it’s kept clean and tidy.

Positive experience: The pool was OK but the pool has too much chlorine in it which make a lot of people breathe in these chemicals and start coughing a lot

Negative experience: They have a shower fee with which you can take a shower for only 2 dollars which is great. And the staff was very friendly and welcoming. However the showers and changing rooms were disgusting. Moreover the day we came all the hot tubs were closed, nobody notified us about that and the entry fee remained the same.

Fantastic experience: This is the best place to visit if possible daily for gym sauna spa swimming and finish with a cold shower and the staff are awesome proving a very warm and friendly environment and porirua wouldn't be the same without te rauparaha and it's staff

Positive experience: The facilitie is nice, The pool is not bad, swimming lanes for adults, waves pool for the kids, slides and an inflatable ninja lane on the water that was a lot of fun, hot tubs, dry and wet sauna and swimming erea for the kids. All and all it was nice, but very crowded (kids are on a break), the showers and dressing rooms needed some more attention and basically there was no place to sit at all, or even a proper place to put our stuff.. We did managed eventually and everyone had fun. Thank you

Negative experience: A pool review: Although the pool is generally good it is absurd that there are times where only 2 lanes are available for swimming. 2 lanes are permanently booked for aqua swimming and various events often times book 3 other lanes. Information on website is not updated. That leave the regular people, who pay money SO THEY CAN SWIM, crowded in only 2 lanes. Never, ever have I seen this anywhere else. There is no requirements to swim with a cap, so when you swim you pull water and hair.

Positive experience: It's a nice pool to go to.. love the waves in the main pool! The slide is decent for what it is.. and spas are nice and there is a cafe before you enter!

Fantastic experience: I love it, I am happy when I go to the pool in Porirua, the guys who attend the place are very friendly and smiling, it is a clean and well-kept place, my granddaughter Emma and I have a beautiful afternoon on Sundays in this beautiful and warm place.

Negative experience: The pool is good however they should have a limit of how many people they let into the kids pools, it's overcrowded and gross, kids easily could drown as the lifeguards don't enforce rules or keep up with the amount of people swimming. You can barely move, someone always crashing into you or doing bombs or throwing balls. Not great with little kids around.

Fantastic experience: Good fun outing for both young and old. Perfect thing to do on a rainy day. Main pool is a great temperature. Main pool features a river ride, a toddler slide into the pool, water gun, balls and other flotation items scattered throughout the pool and every half an hour (I think) a siren sounds and it turns into a wave pool for a few minutes. There is also a decent hydroslide (you don't even have to pay extra) and a toddler/baby pool. For the adults there are couple of spa pools, a steam room, a sauna and a lap pool split into different lanes for different speed swimmers and also aqua jogging. The changing rooms and toilets are really clean and spacious. Also multiple family changing rooms which are great. After using all your energy at the swimming pool there is a Cafe on the way out where you can stop in and refuel before carrying on with the day. This is probably one of the most budget friendly things to do and is definitely worth a visit (or multiple visits) to keep the kids entertained especially given the fickle nature of the local weather or on school holidays.

Fantastic experience: What an awesome pool. Lazy river, slide into shallow water, waves turning on and a shallow kid friendly spa pool. My 2yo and 4yo and I had a blast and were glad we drove from Lower Hutt to go there

Positive experience: It's a good facility. It's a shame the basketball courts aren't open for use publicly. Or offer a year round league. Seems to be a waste. Overall the pools are fun for the kids at a good price and the gym is a basic gym.

Positive experience: I went to the centre for a Christian Convention. Part of a large contingent of over 1500. We travelled from Masterton by Transit Coach, with a very kind, competent, experienced driver; 'Andre'. He was especially empathetic towards the elderly, frail and the children on board. Even escorting a woman with mobility difficulty to cross the road in Carterton. On the return journey.

Fantastic experience: Travelled to this aquatic center from out of town and was quite impressed how fancy it is. Enjoyed our family swim and the price was affordable for a family, extra pro for not charging extra for the slides.

Negative experience: We went to a pulse netball game and won't be going again. The seats are uncomfortable and there isn't enough room. You are too far away from the action and the food lines take forever

Fantastic experience: Great multi purpose facilities and excellent location with good parking and handy to public transport.

Positive experience: Poor lighting for an exhibition in the Main Arena. Poor toilets. Food area on Saturday was OK but on Sunday they didn't have any plates, cups or cutlery. Eating food out of cardboard take away boxes with silly little bamboo knifes & forks was very difficult & messy.

Negative experience: Great facility, but at the pool there are always a couple of people throwing the spiky balls around very hard or long distance, and often people throwing heavy sticks to dive down to. Today I saw one girl hit in the face with a big spiky ball and start crying, and I stopped two balls hitting my son in the face. Pool staff don't stop this behaviour. Because of this I don't think the pool is suitable for families with children.

Fantastic experience: This place has absolutely amazing facilities from the Gym to the pool, spa, sauna and steam room. Great for kids, hydro slide, Cafe, and even free parking.

Positive experience: Was working, but great facilities for a large function. The caterers Fine Touch Caters do a fantastic job with lovely food and service . The people who run the function centre there are pleasant and easy to work with.

Fantastic experience: Haven't been for about 3yrs, but have always loved the experience... We have our Assemblies and Conventions here, and just totally love it... Does get a tad bit hot with 1600 people, but still a good space...

Positive experience: The courts need to be resurfaced and cleaned. Lots of dust and peeling laminate. Felt almost unsafe at times. Great venue for an indoor tournament but they need to fix the floor. The Aquatic Centre is great. Nice to have a sauna, stream room and spa. Very poor accessibility though. Only push/pull doors which can be tricky with a wheel chair. The family changing rooms are fine but there is no accessible change room. Makes it pretty hard with a disabled child.

Fantastic experience: I love this pool, my first time there and had so much fun. The basketball hoop in the pool was a nice touch and the spa pools were too comfortable to get out of! One of the better pools in the Wellington region.

Positive experience: Great place for the family and safe with plenty of life guards. Cafe not up and running yet but should be finished soon. My pet hate is the people who go swimming in the morning and put their bags on the seats and tables. Really selfish for the people who aren't swimming as there is no where to sit.

Positive experience: The swimming area is great. Enjoyable for the little ones too. I don't love that there isn't a place to put toiletries while showering other than on the floor and I also don't like having to keep pressing a button to make the shower run rather than just a normal tap. But it's clean and tidy and the staff are lovely.

Positive experience: Really enjoy the pool. Love that it's a shared play pool area, which is great for preschoolers, who feel more confident because they're sharing the pool, but also don't get it past their depth. The wave maker and River Run are also great fun for learners. Haven't used the lanes, but they look pretty awesome. Also nice cafe on site and good options for having an event there
